It is always good to meditate on the word of God. No matter how many times you've gone through scripture, it is always new the next time you go through it again. A new revelation could pop up from the Holy Spirit or He could remind you of something He told you before now. And mine today happens to be a reminder.
Proverbs 18:21 says, "Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit." We must have heard of this verse a million times, but how well do we use it, especially when it has to do with who Jesus says we are?
Jesus said in the book of John 6:63 that the words He speaks are spirit and life. Apart from that, He is Life personified, (ref.: John 14:6). And Galatians 2:20 says we live by the faith of Jesus. This explains the truth that when we were baptised, we became one with Christ Jesus, (ref.: Galatians 3:27-28). And as He is so are we in the world, as God sees us seated with Christ in heavenly places, (ref. 1 John 4:17; Ephesians 2:6).
I could go on and on to emphasise how those who are baptised in Christ Jesus are one and the same with Him.
Now, the flesh may deceive us, making us think those things we feel in our body that are contrary to who Jesus is are real, but they are not. As long as it doesn't align with who Christ Jesus is. It is not about who we are, but about who He is, because all that He is, we have become. This is where Proverbs 18:21 comes to play.
We are to keep confessing who Jesus is, and not the deception felt in our bodies. Why? The reason is that as we meditate on the word of God, Christ is revealed to us, and as He keeps getting revealed, we are to confess who He is. This is where renewal of our minds becomes active, (ref. Romans 12:2). And as we keep on confessing who Jesus is, we see Him manifest in our bodies.
Ephesians 3:20 says, "Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us," The fulness of Christ Jesus has been given to us, but it is how much we believe and confess that is made manifest, which is why the verse says "...according to the power that works in us"
You either confess Jesus, who is life, or you settle for the other, where there is no life, which is death. Your focus is on Jesus, so confess Jesus today at every moment, and see yourself live the Jesus life of the supernatural.
Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t? Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!
