Who Is Jesus Now? (INTRO)

It is a common cliché to say "have faith in Jesus." True, we are to have faith in Jesus, but how can you have faith in a person you don't know well?

John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." Jesus said whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life. So, believing in Him is very important.

Faith requires belief, but as I said earlier, how can you have faith in someone you don't know well?

The truth why we keep having issues in our lives despite calling on the name of Jesus is just because of one thing, and that one thing is unbelief. Surprising right? That unbelief is the reason why a Son or Daughter of God would keep having issues in their lives despite calling on the name of Jesus.

Galatians 2:20 says, "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me." The life anyone who is born again lives, is the life of Jesus. In other words, the existence of a born again person is Christ Himself.

The old life has gone, which has been crucified. The new life however, is the life of Jesus Himself, which is why Apostle Paul made it clear that the life he lives, is BY THE FAITH OF THE SON OF GOD (ref.: Galatians 2:20 KJV), which implies that Jesus is the life of anyone who is born again. Colossians 3:4 supports thus, and many more.

Now, Romans 8:17 says those who live by the Spirit are joint heirs with Christ, which means that as a person becomes born again, he or she is grafted into the person of Jesus, thus becoming One with Jesus. Since this is so, it is then clear that all that Jesus is, so are we, (ref.: 1 John 4:17).

But despite knowing this that we operate using the name of Jesus, in other words, our expression of life is based on who Jesus is right now. So, if we experience limitations within our lives, maybe in health for example, it shows we have unknowingly limited the authority of Jesus, because we don't live or do things by our authority [which in spiritual terms, we have ceased to exist, as Christ Jesus is our new life]. The life we live is who Jesus is, which is with the use of the authority of Jesus, which is His name—Jesus.

So, as this has been established, the question is, who is Jesus now? What authority does He possess? The reason why this is important is because His authority is our authority. The area His authority covers are the same areas our authority covers.

To dig into these questions, log on tomorrow as I continue the topic, Who Is Jesus Now? and set things straight once and for all.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!
