Guard Your Thoughts, Guard Your Life

There's no one I know that would tell me he or she took a decision without first thinking about it. In some past write-up's of mine I wrote that the words are the more powerful than actions, explaining that actions are the effects of words. In other words, there is no action without words. But today I'd look deeper into the words, because to know how important this is, you'd then know why certain actions are made by you.

Every word we speak is first processed in our thoughts. Also, every decision we make which we speak or not, are first processed in our thoughts. So, before words are thoughts.

Now, this is how serious thoughts could be, they could carry the same power of words. Everyone is at a state of rest in the mindset, and this state of rest is our thoughts lie. So, our words are most powerful when they tap from the state of rest of our thoughts. This would imply that the foundation to a perfect life start with the thought.

Other words used as a synonym to thoughts in scriptures could be heart or mind.

Romans 12:1&2 explains that now that we have presented our everything we do, everything as regards our bodies as a living sacrifice, we then see the fulness of Christ manifested in our everyday life as we renewed our minds [which is our thoughts].

Proverbs 4:23 says, "Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life." Why is this so important?

This is why guarding our thoughts is of extreme importance, especially for anyone who is born again. The moment you received Christ as Lord, your old spirit died, and the Spirit of Jesus became your new Spirit. Therefore, you had the mind of Christ Jesus, everything that He is you have become, in summary Jesus is now your life, (ref.: 1 Corinthians 2:16; 1 John 4:17; Colossians 3:4). But only your Spirit was completely transformed into that of Christ Jesus when you became born again, and not your soul (mind, will and emotion) and body. The mind is where you need to renew to allow the flow of who you are to come in.

Your Spirit is you, your soul is the link between you and your body. Your soul is the gate that allows what comes into the body, and it is where the thought lies, and that is what the devil is after.

Remember, all that Jesus is, you have become in Spirit. It is left to you to study and know who Jesus is and believe that He is all you are in order to be renewed and see the transformation in your body as you would start living the fulness of Christ.

So, when you study that by His stripes, you were made healed, it implies that sickness and diseases are under the feet of Jesus and therefore are under you. This is what your thought should rest on. But the devil does everything possible for you not to know that you have been healed, so he brings every sort of distraction and lies appearing real for you to believe as true, and this goes against who Jesus is and who He has made you become. And so, it is highly important to guard your heart and mind, because whatever you believe which is where you thought has rested on, it becomes your life.

Let's look at Ephesians 6:14b & 17. Verse 14 says, "having put on the breastplate of righteousness" while verse 17 says, "And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God"

The breastplate protects the heart. The time you gave your life to Christ, aside confessing with your mouth the Lord Jesus, you also believed in your heart [which is very important], that God raised Him from the dead. This was an assurance with you that gave you a brand new Spirit. But connected to heart is your thought, because it was with the thought that you confessed with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and that is why verse 17 of Ephesians 6 as us to put on the helmet of salvation which reminds us of where we stand, and how it all began. And therefore, it protects us from the lies of the devil trying to get into our thoughts.

So, we remember that Jesus is Lord over every situation in our lives, therefore the devil cannot get into our thoughts, and we remember that we because of Jesus, we are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, which stands as our breastplate. But to add to that, verse 17 of Ephesians 6 tells us that the word of God where we rest on in the real sense is our sword of the Spirit. That which attacks whatever the devil has planned against us.

This would imply that our thoughts and heart gets its strength from the sword! This is because we won't remember what Jesus has done for us by being the righteousness of God without the word of God.

This would also mean that though the helmet and breastplate serves as a protection, which in the real sense is a reminder of who we have become in Christ Jesus, we are to also shout it back at the devil that this is who we are, and where we stand using the word of God, and it destroys the plans of the devil.

In conclusion, our thoughts are to rest on all Jesus is right now, because all of Him is now all of us. And as we remind ourselves through the meditation of the word of God, we are strengthened and can't fall victims of the enemy, who is the devil. And most of all, in all these, as we rest on the word of God, we live and become the word of God, who is Jesus Christ, (ref.: 2 Corinthians 3:2-3).

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!

Continue In Him

It has been established that before the coming of Jesus, the entire world was in sin because of our sinful nature. So, no matter what we did in pleasing God, it never made us righteous, just because our nature was a sin nature, and not a nature of God.

Then Jesus came, and saved us from the wrath of God, and freed us from the bondage of sin by offering us a brand new life, a life of righteousness, the exact righteousness that was of God. And this can only be attained by getting born again, which is being born of the Spirit of Jesus.

Now, what I observed is that many feel the moment you give your life to God, you now have the authority of Jesus, which is true, and then you can now please God by going about things the way you used to do them by being morally upright. This is where it is wrong.

Firstly, to say you have the authority of Jesus is true and not at the same time, let me explain. It is true in the sense that all that Jesus has become, He has given you. But for Jesus to give you His authority isn't giving making you a separate entity as Himself, and this is where many feel Jesus gave them His authority as a separate entity, this is where you can't have Jesus' authority being a separate entity, (well, many make this mistake unknowingly).

Romans 8:17, establishes that we have been made a joint heirs with Christ Jesus, thus becoming One with Him as the body of Christ. This makes you one Spirit with Jesus. In other words, you partake in the authority of Jesus as yours, because there is no distinction between a born again Spirit and Jesus. This makes it clear that all we do is to live Christ who is now our life, (ref.: Colossians 3:4).

Colossians 2:6 and 7 explains that as we have received Christ Jesus, we are walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him, to establish our faith, in other words, to establish our complete rest in Jesus as our source of existence, since we died to sin, but are now alive in Christ. Therefore, our being alive is because of Christ, who is actually our life, therefore, we live Him in all we do. This is why we have His mind, (ref.: 1 Corinthians 2:16).

Now, our life a Sons and Daughters of God isn't do fight a battle or try to keep a morally upright life yo please God. The ONLY thing we are to do I to believe in Jesus Christ, in other words, by ourselves, we would fail again, and this would show we are not one with Jesus. But Jesus didn't just do everything right, He won the battle, thus there is no battle anymore. So, we are to receive His righteousness as our life which is by having His Spirit, therefore believing that since He had done it, and He is one with God, likewise becoming One with Him through faith in Him makes me one with God, and this pleases God.

The battle we face when the devil comes, is a battle for us to establish that we stand for victory Jesus has already won which we belong to. The devil comes to sway us away from our stand on all Jesus has done, making us to see ourselves as a separate entity from Jesus, thus calling our attention to our weaknesses. This is where we cast down every evil imagination, casting down every argument against all Jesus has done, put them under our feet, which is His feet, (ref.: 2 Corinthians 10:3-6).

The scriptures says that as many as are LED by the Spirit of God are Sons and Daughters of God. In other words, we don't do things by our thinking anymore, but are being led by the Spirit of Jesus in all we do. And by doing this, we get strengthened by Grace through faith, thus allow more of the Grace/Jesus which He has given us to flow into all that we do.

So, we must ensure to enter into that rest that Jesus had given us in all that we do, by believing in His finished works.

Increase The Light

Darkness is the absence of light, but light isn't the absence of darkness.

If I am to break this down, it would imply that darkness actually means a state of emptiness; a state where nothing has occupied a place. So, when light comes, it has occupied the place, therefore, the place cannot be termed dark or empty.

If I am to stay on the light and darkness issue, I'd like to look at a dimmer. A dimmer is usually connected to a electrical flow coming into the light bulb, and so, it could regulate how much power comes out of the bulb. In other words, the dimmer can reduce the full strength of a light bulb.

Now, if you've ever used a dimmer before or seen it used maybe on TV, you'd notice that any time the light is reduced, the place gets darker right? And this is despite having light in the room. But as the light is increased, darkness disappears right? Right. And this is my focus here today.

The life of man had been total darkness since the fall of Adam till the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Man was so used to darkness as a way of life to the point that the Bible says in John 1:4-5 that, "In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. ⁵And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it."

Jesus came as life and the light of men. But men could not understand this light because they were so used to darkness as a way of life.

The Passion Translation puts these same verses thus, "Life came into being because of him, for his life is light for all humanity. ⁵And this Living Expression is the Light that bursts through gloom— the Light that darkness could not diminish!" TPT.

Now Jesus, through His resurrection has offered us His life which is the light, and you can only receive this by being born again. And many have received this light as their life. But we don't see this expression of light as they live. What could be wrong?

The Spirit of a Son or Daughter of God is now completely light, but the soul needs to receive this light into itself in order to express the light through the body. And this is where the renewal of the mind is very important, (ref.: Romans 12:2).

Many of are like a house that has light in the switch, but haven't turned on switch, and we complain that we need light. But light has been given to you, but haven't turned on the switch.

Others have turned on the switch but have their light dimmed, this is why darkness still locks around the house.

But darkness flee by itself as the light gets brighter and brighter. And this can only be done through the meditation on the word of God.

Now, to meditate is to know who Jesus is; to know that He had the highest name; that He has won the battle that the darkness deceives with, and that we live in Him, being joined as one with Him, thus using the same authority He has in His name. The more you renew your mind with His word, you increase the light entering your mind, and you see darkness flee.

Look, Jesus has given us Himself, who is the fulness of God, and the greatest light beyond our imagination. It is left to us to allow this light to flow into our soul. And that is through knowing Him.

Jesus Himself said that eternal is knowing God as the only true God, and Jesus whom God sent, who has given us all things pertaining to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him (ref.: John 17:3; 2 Peter 1:3). We must know Him, or else, we would be disturbed by darkness. And darkness is allowing the devil and its demons have free flow in deceiving our minds and we have nothing to defend ourselves, just because we are ignorant of who He is, and what He has done for us.

But the more you know Him, the devil knows already that it's a failed battle, because you are founded on the rock. Just as Jesus said that those who hear His words, AND DO THEM. Now, the doing them isn't a self effort, but a Spiritual effort into knowing Him, by completely resting on the finished works of Jesus, this is he or she that is founded on the rock who is Jesus, (ref.: Matthew 7:24-27; Hebrews 4:11).

I can't emphasise this enough, because the devil has a hold on anyone who is ignorant of all Jesus has done. Increase your light today and keep on increasing it till you attain the fill manner and stature of our Lord Jesus Christ. Praise the Lord!

This Was Why Jesus Never Fell Ill

Have you ever wondered why Jesus never fell ill, had a desperate need for money, or prayed to God for days, on and on before certain things happened? Well, some of us would say He was God in the flesh, that's why it was easy for Him.

Let's take a look at Hebrews 4:15. It says, "For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we  are, yet without sin." This verse makes us understand that Jesus was tempted in every way, just the way we get tempted, but He didn't sin, in other words, He didn't fall into those temptations, and this is why He is our High Priest who can sympathise with us, and strengthen us to know how to overcome any temptation that comes our way.

The reason why Jesus wasn't weighed down by all these issues we face was just because of two things, one of which is my focus today.

The first reason why Jesus overcame all the challenges that weigh us down today, was because He was born sinless, He had a sinless Spirit, but that didn't mean He couldn't choose to sin if He wanted to. Sin for Jesus was by choice and not a nature as man is before being born again, [thus having having new nature]. So, it would imply that Jesus could have chosen to be weighed down by what we faced, but chose not to. And the second reason why He wasn't weighed down is the main reason everyone who is born of God and is still weighed down by issues of this world need and must understand.

The second reason is that Jesus never doubted God for a second, He couldn't reason it out. I know some of you would say, "that's it?" And I'll say that's it. But let me breakdown what this means.

To doubt a thing or a person is to question the authority of that person, or to question the capability of that person. And this was what Jesus never did towards God.

To Jesus, God had and still has all authority and dominion over everything. The one who shuts doors that no one can open, and opens doors no one can shut, (ref.: Revelation 3:7). To Jesus God has no rival or equal, no one can or could be greater than Him. To Jesus, God is not a man can lie nor a son of man that should repent, (ref.: Numbers 23:19). Jesus knew God, and kept on knowing Him all through His stay on earth.

Jesus understood that the moment God has said a person is healed, that was it. Every other thing was EXTREMELY IRRELEVANT at that moment.

Jesus knew God and nothing else. There no point giving room to study any other thing, which was inferior to God. God was and simply is the greatest. It was at this realm that Jesus operated from.

We depend on doctors report, doubting God if what the doctor had said wouldn't stand. For Jesus, infirmities, diseases, financial issues and every other thing were under God, thus under Him. Therefore, they cannot stand.

Jesus understood the authority, greatness and capability of God so much that He literally lived God. This was why demons were cast out, diseases were shrunk away, sicknesses were cast away, because nothing was greater in any way than God, neither was it even a topic of discussion in terms of comparison.

Now, Jesus overcame all what we were never able to overcome, which is why God lifted man through Him, by giving Him a name far above every other name. That at the name of Jesus, every knee bows, and every tongue confesses that Jesus is Lord, from now till eternity, (ref.: Philippians 2:9-11).

And because of what Jesus has done, He offered us His Spirit, for us to become one with Him, not separated from Him in any way, in order for us to function as Him right here on earth. This is where being born again is needed to attain this fit.

Our focus NOW is to FIX our eyes on Jesus and nothing else, just the way Jesus did towards God while here on earth. We are to fix our eyes on Jesus through meditation on His word to know Him more and more and more, thereby expanding our confidence in His authority and capability, it would be an insult to even consider a doctors report, or even fall ill. Sickness, diseases and everything that weigh us down were all nailed to the cross, therefore, making us free from them holding us.

So, why are you weighed down? Fix your eyes on Jesus, get to know Him through your meditation on His word and open your gate of faith to allow His fullness which He has already given to you to flow freely as you function as Him. And nothing, absolutely NOTHING would harm you.

Knowing Jesus is so deep, inspiring, revealing, illuminating and energising. He is the LORD OF ALL!

Lessons Behind Peter's Walk On The Sea

OK, today, I'm looking at event where Peter walked on water. I written on this event more than once. But each time I write about it, it comes with another revelation.

The word of God is alive and very active. So, no matter how many times you read it, you can never finish reading it. In other words, there is always something new you receive when you go

through the scriptures. Well, this mostly applies to those born of God, because the Holy Spirit of Jesus brings up a deeper revelation of who He is to us.

So, Matthew, Mark and John recorded Jesus walking on water, but only Matthew's account indicated that Peter walked on water also in that event.

This event in the Matthew's account is found in Matthew 14:22-33. But my focus is from verses 29-31 which says:

"So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!” And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”"

Humans can't walk on water. This is a proven phenomenon. But Jesus walked on water, this goes to show He had and still has authority over water. Jesus walking on water wasn't a show off, because He had established that He does nothing of His own, but all that He does is what He sees His Father do, (ref.: John 5:19). And we understand that Jesus through the authority of His Father while here on earth had all elements of the earth and seas. So, He walked on the sea in obedience to His Father's leading. So, where does Peter come in all these?

Peter in Matthew 14:28 asked Jesus to command him to come to Him if He truly was the one walking on the sea. And Jesus in verse 29 asked Peter to come.

Now, the moment Jesus "come", sea obeyed the word of Jesus, which made Peter to walk on sea. So, Peter's walking on the sea rested on Jesus, and in his ability.

We need to understand that the supernatural never comes from our ability to do things, but from Jesus's ability over what He has done, or has complete authority over. All we are to do is to rest on His authority.

All Peter had to do was to fix his eyes on Jesus. In other words, Peter had to understand that Jesus had authority over the sea. But as he looked away, and used his human understanding which has limited understanding, he began to sink, why?

The scriptures says in 1 John 4:17, that as Jesus is so are we in this world. In other words, we become who He is by resting on Him; by gazing on Him, because Jesus is our source of faith. We cannot receive Him if we look away. And this was what happened yo Peter, he questioned the authority Jesus carried by seeing the waves of the sea being boisterous, he began to sink.

Peter's walking on the sea was a clear example of "as He is so are we in the world." We cannot be as Jesus without His authority. And as Peter began to sink and cried out to Jesus to save Him. As Jesus got hold of him, He said to Peter, "O you of little faith, why did you doubt?" (Ref.: Matthew 14:31).

To doubt is to destroy your faith in a thing or something. In this case, it means to question God's authority. We must remember that when walking with God, it is not about what we can do, but how high we place Jesus'/God's authority. How confident are you in the authority Jesus possesses. Whatever He says is final, but the only stumbling block is for us to question His authority through doubt, and because of that we don't see Him live through us, because of doubt or unbelief.

True, humans cannot walk on water, let alone the sea. But as the scriptures says in Daniel 11:32b, "but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great  exploits."

How well do you know Jesus? Little faith simply means belittling the authority of Jesus. While great is placing Jesus far above all things in authority, wisdom, dominion, and all things. In other words, He has the final say on your case.

In simple terms, all you have to do is believe in Him. Your belief is the gateway to the free flow of the Grace of God into your life, and nothing else. Jesus has done all things for you, all you have to do is believe. And the more you know Him, the more your belief level increases.

Who Is Jesus Now?

In my last write-up I wrote, you can't have faith in a person you don't know. And with the understanding we've gotten now that those who are born of God or born again have been fused together with Jesus, in other words, Jesus is now their lives.

In another clearer way, they died, and Jesus took over their lives. And we all know that Jesus is life personified, (ref.: 2 Corinthians 5:17; Galatians 2:20; Colossians 3:4; John 14:6). So, we are not who we are any longer, but who Jesus is right now. But if we don't know who Jesus is, how do we operate?

So, who is Jesus right now?

OK, John 1:1 says, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." John 1:14 also says, "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth."

So, in summary Jesus is God, and He came in human form.

The essence of Jesus becoming man was to free the entire world from the bondage of sin through the shedding of His blood, (ref.: Hebrews 9:22). Then He resurrected to establish a brand new beginning, (ref.: 1 Corinthians 15:12-14). Who He became when He resurrected is who He is now. And that is the person we became joint heirs with. So, who is this resurrected Jesus?

Matthew 28:18 says, "And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth."

So, we know that all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to to Jesus.

Philippians 2:9-11, "Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, ¹⁰that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, ¹¹and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."

The verses above make us understand that Jesus not only has all authority in heaven and earth, He also has the highest name in the universe. In other words, Jesus has the highest name in heaven, earth, and under the earth.

The name of Jesus is an authority on its own. Every name submits to the name of Jesus, which means that sickness, diseases, demons, infirmities, and anything that has a name, even to flowers and trees bow down to the name of Jesus. This goes to show that the name of Jesus has no one greater than Him or even anyone as His equal.

Now, this great authority of Jesus has been given to the church, who are the everyone born of God or born again, those who carry His Spirit.

Ephesians 1:19-23 "and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power ²⁰which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places,  ²¹far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. ²²And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to  be head over all things to the church, ²³which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all."

Jesus having the highest authority is seated at the right hand of God. He has been placed far above every principalities, power, might, dominion, and every name that is named, not only now, but above every name into the future, all of which He has put under His feet. And this is the most interesting part, He has given these to the church, where He is head.

So, understand this that all that Jesus is right now, seated at the right hand of God are all you have become. It is not about you, but about Him, about all that He is, that is your focus.

Go through these scriptures that I've listed above on who Jesus is. To believe this are what God wants from you, and to believe that you have become all that Jesus is BY HIS GRACE, and not by what you did.

This is faith, to believe all that Jesus is that He has given to you by grace.

To know Jesus is to know who you are, because IT IS IN HIS AUTHORITY THAT YOU OPERATE HERE ON EARTH.

Who Is Jesus Now? (INTRO)

It is a common cliché to say "have faith in Jesus." True, we are to have faith in Jesus, but how can you have faith in a person you don't know well?

John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." Jesus said whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life. So, believing in Him is very important.

Faith requires belief, but as I said earlier, how can you have faith in someone you don't know well?

The truth why we keep having issues in our lives despite calling on the name of Jesus is just because of one thing, and that one thing is unbelief. Surprising right? That unbelief is the reason why a Son or Daughter of God would keep having issues in their lives despite calling on the name of Jesus.

Galatians 2:20 says, "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me." The life anyone who is born again lives, is the life of Jesus. In other words, the existence of a born again person is Christ Himself.

The old life has gone, which has been crucified. The new life however, is the life of Jesus Himself, which is why Apostle Paul made it clear that the life he lives, is BY THE FAITH OF THE SON OF GOD (ref.: Galatians 2:20 KJV), which implies that Jesus is the life of anyone who is born again. Colossians 3:4 supports thus, and many more.

Now, Romans 8:17 says those who live by the Spirit are joint heirs with Christ, which means that as a person becomes born again, he or she is grafted into the person of Jesus, thus becoming One with Jesus. Since this is so, it is then clear that all that Jesus is, so are we, (ref.: 1 John 4:17).

But despite knowing this that we operate using the name of Jesus, in other words, our expression of life is based on who Jesus is right now. So, if we experience limitations within our lives, maybe in health for example, it shows we have unknowingly limited the authority of Jesus, because we don't live or do things by our authority [which in spiritual terms, we have ceased to exist, as Christ Jesus is our new life]. The life we live is who Jesus is, which is with the use of the authority of Jesus, which is His name—Jesus.

So, as this has been established, the question is, who is Jesus now? What authority does He possess? The reason why this is important is because His authority is our authority. The area His authority covers are the same areas our authority covers.

To dig into these questions, log on tomorrow as I continue the topic, Who Is Jesus Now? and set things straight once and for all.

Faith, and not Works in Jesus

In my last write-up, I wrote on how the Jesus has fulfilled the Law, and by doing that, our focus moved from the Law to Jesus (as I quoted and made references to several scriptures backing this up).

Now, we were to work to keep the Law, but now that the focus isn't to keep the Law, but to focus on Jesus, who has replaced the law, our focus isn't by works, and we need to understand this.

Romans 8:8-9 says, "So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God. ⁹But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His." To operate under the flesh is to operate by works or the carnal mind which is not having the Spirit of God, and this doesn't please God. But to focus on Jesus is to operate in the Spirit, which pleases God, and this can only happen when you have the Spirit of Jesus which is to be born again, where you drop your old nature, and pick up a new nature, which is the Spirit of Jesus. And by doing this, you become the temple of the Holy Spirit, as the Holy Spirit dwells in you, (ref.: 2 Corinthians 5:17; Galatians 2:20; 1 Corinthians 3:16; 6:19).

To live or function in the Spirit is by faith, which is a complete trust in all what Jesus has done. So, it is your Spirit that connects with the Spirit of Jesus which has become one with His Spirit. So, it isn't an act of works anymore, (ref.: Ephesians 2:8), but an act of belief and complete trust in Jesus, who is now our new life, (ref.: Colossians 3:4).

So, as we become born of God, our focus isn't on what we want to do, but on what He has already done, and we express faith in our thoughts, words, and actions through the leading of the Holy Spirit. We get to this point as we meditate on the word of God who tells us all Jesus has become, because by knowing what He has become strengthens us in faith, as all that He is, we have become, (ref.: 1 John 4:17).

It is in knowing who Jesus is right now that makes us move by faith in the leading of the Holy Spirit which is very important, because we are not to lead ourselves anymore, but the Holy Spirit is to lead us, in line with the word of God, which fulfills the fact that we are Sons and Daughters of God, (ref.: Romans 8:17).

In conclusion, we moved from Law to Jesus. And in Jesus, after receiving Him as Lord our lives, we carry His Spirit. He has done everything, what we are to do is to express all that He has done as we live, and this again isn't done by ourselves but by the leading of His Spirit, which is our expression of faith in Him. The job is already done, all that we need as we live here on earth has been taken care of. All we are to do is to have faith in Him through the meditation on His word, reminding us of who He is (as we are joint heirs with Him), in the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Not The Law, Then What? (Part 2)

Just a recap, I wrote yesterday that many Christians feel the Law should still be kept, I said it shouldn't, because as Christians our rest isn't on the Law.

They also feel they couldn't keep the Law because they weren't born again, but now that they are born again, they are able to keep the Law. But this is also not right. So, if we aren't meant to keep the Law, what are we to keep?

I said my focus wouldn't be on why the Law shouldn't be kept, but on what we are actually to keep, and as I explain that, it would become clearer why the Law shouldn't be kept.

I started going through Romans 8 yesterday as my focus in explaining what we are to keep now by being Christians. And yesterday, I stopped at verse 3 which says, "For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh"

So, I wrote that this means that the Law was being designed to fulfill, and since no one could fulfill it as they saw how they had all fallen short based on their works, needed someone who could fulfill it. In other words, the law could only be fulfilled by works of man, and since man was limited because of his flesh or sinful nature. But Jesus who came in the form of a sinful man, who Himself wasn't sinful was the only one who could fulfill the law, because He wasn't limited and He also had the Spirit of God as His nature fulfilled the law, and sin was condemned in the flesh. So, Jesus fulfilled the Law.

Jesus fulfilled the Law, He accomplished all the requirements of the law. But don't forget the Law was given to show that we needed a Saviour, and Jesus came as the Saviour, and has fulfilled everything pertaining to the law. Thus, the story of the law ended the moment Jesus fulfilled it.

Romans 8:4 says, "that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit."

Now, because the law has been fulfilled, the righteous requirement of the law is fulfilled in all who are born under Christ, because they are now not led by he flesh which requires works. So what happens now is that those born of Christ walk according to Jesus' Spirit as He was the one alone who fulfilled the Law.

So, the focus is not now on we struggling by our power to keep the Law, (which has already been fulfilled). Our focus now is on the One who fulfilled the Law, and that is Jesus!

What is required of us is to have the exact Spirit Jesus has, and walk according to His leading.

OK, OK, let me make this clearer. Prophet Isaiah prophesied that a virgin shall conceive, right? It was OK to keep on believing those prophetic words, that a virgin shall conceive. But when the virgin finally conceived, which was the fulfillment of the prophetic words, it won't make any sense to keep on saying a virgin shall conceive. What you are to focus on is what is the word after the virgin conceived. Likewise, the Law was given to show us how wretched we are without a Saviour. And now that the Saviour had come, our focus isn't on the Law anymore but He who fulfilled the Law, and that is Jesus.

Romans 3:21-22 says, "But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, ²²even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference;" The earlier verses had explained how the Law can not make anyone righteous. Verse 21 of Romans 3 says the righteousness we've all been seeking for has been revealed. The verse makes us  understand that this is the fulfillment of both the Prophets and the law.

Then verse 22 says this righteousness is found in Jesus through faith in Him. And verse 22 ends by saying no one is excluded to think the righteousness is not referring to them, believing they have their own source righteousness they have been keeping. And this is why the popular Romans 3:23 then said, all have sinned and have come short of the glory of God. To show that nothing you do can make you righteous except in Jesus who is the only one who can make anyone righteous when they come to Him, (ref.: Romans 3:24-26).

So, we moved from the Law to Jesus. In fact, those who give their lives to Jesus moved from sin to Jesus, because they had no previous business or dealings with the Law!

So, to tell a new convert to study the law is absolutely wrong. What we are to do is to study Jesus right now seated at the right hand of God. and this is done through the meditation on the word of God.

I know some of us still want to do something, like keep a law or something. This is where I'd explain what having faith in Jesus really means in my next write-up.

Not The Law, Then What?

I looked at the Law in the Bible, and saw the several days, if not weeks I'd need to explain why we shouldn't keep the Law, especially when born again in Christ Jesus. I had given a summary of this issue several write-up's ago. But I decided to explain what we are to "keep" as I said we are not to keep the Law. And by doing that, it would be clearer to everyone why.

So, I'm looking at one of my favourite chapters of the Bible, Romans 8 as my major focus in explaining what we are to focus on instead of the Law.

Romans 8:1 says, "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit." Now, to say there is therefore now no condemnation implies that there was a condemnation before now (now here referring to those who are in Christ Jesus). So, the question would be, what or who condemned us? The Law!

The Law was a perfect Law given to condemn us, and not to make us right. It was given to make us see how wretched we were without a Saviour, which was what Apostle Paul explained in Romans 7. He also explained how the Law was a ministry of condemnation in 2 Corinthians 3.

So, Romans 8:1 tells us that those who are in Christ Jesus (being born of Him), have no condemnation. Why is that so?

Those who are in Christ Jesus have no condemnation because they are in Christ Jesus. They are dependent on the existence of Jesus who fulfilled the Law and is now glorified, (ref.: Matthew 5:17; Colossians 3:4; Matthew 28:18; Philippians 2:9-11; Ephesians 1:13). They have put to death "themselves" and put on Christ Jesus, as their new life, (ref.: Galatians 5:24-25).

Romans 8:2 says, "For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death."

What this means is that the life when united with Christ Jesus as one Spirit has a new nature, and the new nature of the person is Christ Jesus. This implies that the person is free from the law of sin and death, (ref.: 2 Corinthians 5:17; Galatians 2:20).

Romans 8:3 says, "For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh"

This means that the Law being designed to fulfill, and since no one could fulfill it as they saw how they had all fallen short based on their works, needed someone who could fulfill it.

OK, I haven't rested my case yet because this is just part one on who or what to "keep" instead of the Law.

Log on TOMORROW as I continue on the topic.

As Simple as ABC

Just imagine a very important promotional exam at your place of work, and then you see the questions, and to your surprise the questions are kindergarten like questions, like A for Apple and B for Ball sort of question. Like they are literally those sort of question. If you see something like that, what would you do?

Many of us would feel the wrong questions were given. And when we find out the questions were the right questions, we won't just write "Apple" alone. We most likely would add to it, maybe defining what an Apple is, or something. But the question was "A for?" This is how straightforward walking with Jesus is, but sadly we always add to it.

Jesus said in John 3:16, "...whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." The only condition to having eternal life is just to believe in Jesus.

Romans 10:9 says "that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."

There is nothing else to add, only believe in Jesus! Why is so simple? It is so simple because we were made in the image and likeness of God. Jesus was the only perfect man, and is God Himself. He is the new beginning, the last Adam. One thing you need to remember is that God never makes mistakes. He is perfection personified.

Jesus becomes our life the moment we give ourselves to Him, we were bought with a price (ref.: Colossians 3:4; 1 Corinthians 6:20). We have His Spirit and are joint heir with Him (ref.: Romans 8:9,10 & 17). As a result of this we are one with Him. So, it is all that Jesus has become that we have become, and nothing about us except to believe in Him, that's all. It's that simple.

There is nothing we can do that brings result or please God except to believe in Jesus. So, stop adding anything to Jesus. All you need to do is just to know Him through meditation on His word, and believe that all that He is, is who you are. And this allows His life, health, wealth, success, favour and everything about Him to flow and manifest.

It's as simple as A,B,C.
