Did Jesus Really Die For Our Sins?

Happy New month everyone,

What did Jesus come to save us from? This sounds like a ridiculous question right? But it isn’t because it is a question to really understand.

The answer we know which is the truth is that Jesus died for our sins. God wanted to save mankind from destruction, and He sent His Son [Himself actually, coming as a Man] to die for our sins. Was sin the most important thing, or the thing sending us to destruction? Because Jesus has died for our sins and has resurrected into a transformed body. Good, but there is still evil all over the world, and as I’m writing this post, there is a pandemic affecting the entire world. It almost appears nothing was done because evil grew, so what exactly was the essence of Jesus dying for our sins?

Many would say the eternal redemption is in heaven, but that is not completely true because the eternal redemption starts here on earth and continues when Christ Jesus returns, so why are we not seeing the redemption here on earth?

Let’s go back in time when Jesus was here on earth, the Acts of Apostles summarised what Jesus did here on earth in Acts 10:38 which says, “how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.” Redemption was felt as Jesus walked on earth, and He hadn’t died for our sins at that time. Everyone could feel that a new dispensation was about to begin. Jesus never said we should wait till He comes back the second time before we see the redemption starts which He died for. We saw a glimpse of it, which implies that it was meant to start here on earth.

As Jesus prayed in the garden, the Book of John 17:18 says, “As You [God] sent Me [Jesus] into the world, I also have sent them [those who believe] into the world.” Matthew 28:18-20 says, “And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.”

Since Jesus has all authority, which is more powerful than what He displayed when He walked on earth. With this full authority, He has sent those who believe to the world to cover the world quickly, thus showing His dominance over sin. We saw in the Acts of Apostles how the Apostles went around the then world to transform the world doing what Jesus did here on earth and having the power to do more. But today, it looks as if the Apostles didn’t do anything, or they were barking at the wrong tree. So, what could be wrong, why are we not still seeing the redemption Jesus has given us, as He has sent His disciples to tell the world of His redemptive power over all the forces of the universe? The question now is how does Jesus’ dying for the sins of humanity relate with all the sufferings still going on?

Log on tomorrow as show you what has gone wrong.

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!
