Becoming The Reflection

Happy New Week everyone,

Philip, one of Jesus’ disciples asked Jesus to show him and the other disciples, the Father. Then Jesus in John 14:9-10 said, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works.”

Jesus had earlier said in John 5:19 that all that He does is as He sees the Father do, in other words, there was nothing He did that wasn’t inclined by the Father, that He did nothing outside what the Father approved. So, with what Jesus told Philip, it meant He was the reflection of the Father or the image of God here on earth in words and deed. This goes to show Jesus was and is God directly and not One behaving like God. Jesus, while on earth had the Spirit of God, thus, He was God in human form.

I’m sure, some of you who know this would be like, “OK, where is he going with this?” Now, here’s where I’m heading. Jesus like any Man had to learn, He wasn’t born with knowledge. He had to know who He was by spending time with God, and through the scriptures. At an early age, He knew God was His Father.

My point here is, those who are born of God now have the same Spirit Jesus has, and are empowered with power He now has as being glorified, which supersedes that which He had here on earth. So, why do we fall sick? Why do we have to live as one who isn’t saved? In other words, what differentiates us from the unsaved is that we go to church, nothing else. Why are we not like Jesus?

That’s it! The answer is, we all try to be LIKE Jesus instead of being Jesus. Let me explain. When Jesus explained to Philip who God is, Jesus made it clear that seeing Him was seeing God. He didn’t put a separation, as to Him doing everything God was doing, thus making a separation. What Jesus did, was to make them understand that He is God. The only mystery to them was that God was also in heaven. But He was here on earth with them as Jesus!

So, many of us have limited ourselves below Jesus, not to raise ourselves above Him. That is where we get it wrong. The moment anyone becomes a new creation, which is being born of God, He becomes one with Jesus, thus becoming Jesus. In other words, you are found in Jesus. There is no new entity, as making yourself separate from Jesus. What happens is that you become the body of Christ. And this what 1 John 4:17 means by saying, as He is so are we in this world.

Just the way there was no distinction between Jesus and God, likewise, there is no distinction between us as Jesus. But why aren’t we seeing this manifestation of the fullness of Jesus, as we have received? (ref. Ephesians 1:22-23; 1 Corinthians 2:16). The answer is the hardness of our mind.

We have trust and unbelief issues, and this has been the reason the fullness of Christ which is our true nature hasn’t flowed through our mind and transformed our bodies.

There should be no admiration of who Jesus because He is who we are now. We ceased to exist, and Jesus became our new life, but we can only allow His life to flow into our bodies by getting our minds transformed, which doesn’t make our mind not hardened, and the spiritual life which is our life and the life of Christ Jesus flows through our mind into our body. And we then live the fullness of Christ here on earth. Thus, we then say, ‘if you’ve seen us, you’ve seen Christ Jesus’.

This message is quite deep, and I’ve summarised it to still carry the message. But you could ask questions that aren’t clear through our comments section below.

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!
