Why Is Jesus Our Sin Offering?

Hi everyone,

Last time, I wrote on “Our Sin Offering”, and Jesus is as I said our sin offering. He is the one who has rescued us from our challenges of sin, but we sometimes go through challenges where we sin, even though we have left the life of sin. The reason why we still face this is because we haven’t properly understood Jesus as our sin offering, and Jesus being our sin offering means He gave us a new spirit and everything that births sin isn’t in us anymore because we are now the righteousness of God, (2 Corinthians 5:21), and have now received Grace in place of sin. But, how do we see Jesus as our sin offering in our daily lives? Let’s find out.

The moment you receive Jesus into your life, your spirit becomes the same Spirit as that of Jesus, this is why we are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. It is our new Spirit and not our actions that make the Sons of God the righteousness of God. Our soul needs to know who the new leader in which the Spirit who is our life, and this new Spirit is the same Spirit with Jesus Christ, which is the same Spirit as God. So, if as a born-again person or Son of God you still call yourself a sinner, then what you are saying is that Jesus and God are sinners which don’t make any sense.

The strength of the Spirit we carry comes from God not from ourselves, in other words, we cannot influence the Spirit, rather, the Spirit influences us because it [He] is our Spirit. What we need to do is to know who our new Spirit is, and this is by knowing what Jesus our sin offering did on the cross and then knowing what we have received as Sons of God. Being conscious of your new life allows your soul to live a sinless life because it means it is now in sync with our Spirit, in other words, a Son of God sins as a result of ignorance, which is why Apostle Paul asked us to first present our bodies as a living sacrifice, and we are to be transformed by the renewal of our mind by not being conformed to what we are not anymore, but what we are, which is studying who our perfect person is, who is Christ, (ref.: Romans 12:1-2).

Jesus Christ is the height of perfection and perfection in itself, that which we are to attain when we have completely knocked out every part of the old life and thought from our soul, so the study of word of God by studying Jesus and who He is, allows us to understand who we are, (ref.: Ephesians 4:13). Jesus made us perfect, and to understand who we are, we are to look at Jesus and nothing else, this is why Apostle John said as Jesus is right now seated at the right hand of God so are we right here on earth, (ref.: 1 John 4:17), and only by looking at our perfect state—Jesus, can we attain true perfection both in our soul and body.

As a result of understanding that Jesus’ person is who we truly are right now in the Spirit, which is what we really are right now, we then understand that when we have a headache, we look for a headache in Jesus, and if we cannot find a headache in Jesus, then we don’t have a headache; if sickness knocks on our door or poverty, we are to look at Jesus if sickness or poverty is on Him, if it is not, then we don’t have sickness or poverty. If we see prosperity in Jesus, then it means we have prosperity. We are everything Jesus is, nothing more or less, this is what we must remember at every point in time. This is the grace we have received, and this is what happened when Jesus became our sin offering by taking our sin from us and placing it on Himself and went to hell where He overcame there and freed us from the principalities of the devil, and God raised Him up and gave in all authority in heaven and earth, praise the Lord! And we who are born of God are joint heirs with Jesus as we also in the name of Jesus have this privilege that Jesus has, this is the grace we have received, as Jesus is, so are we in this world. And this is why Jesus is our sin offering, (ref.: Philippians 2:5-11; Matthew 28:18; Romans 8:17; Colossians 2:15).

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!
