In my last blog, I explained how GOD has shown us how He is our protector in every situation, even against the evil one. I then ended with a question which I intend to address today, which is, "why then do people who claimed to have accepted Jesus as LORD still get attacked by the devil?"
Now, first of all, we must understand that the devil makes attempts every time to attack us, but he doesn't have the power to succeed. Surprisingly, we give him the power to succeed in his attack over us. Sounds surprising right? Let me explain.
As I said earlier, to believe a thing is to place confidence in that thing, that is to believe that thing is what it says it is. "Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit" [Proverbs 18:21]. Our words are very powerful, the question is what are you confessing?
Once Jesus and His disciples were attacked by a storm, a typical person would conclude saying he has been attacked by a storm. But what did Jesus do? He used the authority through His words which is and must be in line with GOD, which was, "peace be still. He took charge of the situation. We have to understand there is nothing too hard for GOD and He has given us His protection. What we are to do is to believe it completely and when something looks like an attempted attack from the devil, you show him who is boss through your words! And what is the word, the scriptures! As the Bible say, "Resist the devil and he will flee from you." [James 4:7].
To resist the devil doesn't mean you telling the devil, "I resist you". He would laugh and know that you don't understand your new position with Christ. To resist the devil implies you making use of armour of GOD, as well as the blood of the lamb and the words of your testimony; [ref. Ephesians 6:10-20; Revelations 12:11]. Remember this, if the devil can attack you, then he can attack Jesus! Why am I saying this? The power and authority we have is the reward given to Jesus for a job well done when He fulfilled His mission here on earth. It is this exact power He has bestowed on everyone, I repeat, everyone who believes! As simple as A,B,C. However, we who believe are to build ourselves in our most Holy faith, which is being transformed by the renewing of our minds everyday, allowing our new stand to be part and parcel of us; to become what think about, dream about and most importantly, do.
We are joint heirs with Christ and we must always remember that [ref. Romans 8:17]. The devil only attacks ignorant Believers, that is those who don't know how powerful they are, and as such when the devil displays, they easily think he is powerful, and he is not! Why? Jesus disarmed him of all powers! Remember that. All he does is just show off. I gave an example of the storm that Jesus faced. What else did Jesus mean when He told His disciples, "O you of little faith", other than the fact that they should look up to the One who is above the storm. True, they didn't have the Holy Spirit at that time, but Jesus was with them which would have been their confidence and not a person to cry to out of fear. How much more you whom GOD has given the ability of Christ.
To fully understand your authority, you need to study and meditate on the manual, which is the scriptures. The Bible says, "faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God" [Romans 10:17]. You need to properly study the word which would make you understand what the authority GOD has given you is. The Bible says, the Word of GOD is the sword of the Spirit; [ref. Ephesians 6:17].
So, whatever you face as a challenge, do not cry and say you have been attacked rather, use the authority which the armour of GOD, so that you can stand against the wiles of the devil. [Ref. Ephesians 6:10-20]. The armour in the real sense is the embodiment of Jesus and our faith in Him.
Life has been made very easy just by you studying and meditating on the Word with Christ as our focus, believing Him and putting Him to use, because He is our life. The more you focus on Him the more you live His life which is equally ours. The devil fears those who know their stand in Christ. Head knowledge of the word is one thing, practical use of the word is another. Faith without the work of faith is dead.
Why not accept Jesus today if you haven't. Pray out loud, "Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive Salvation now. Thank You for saving me!" Congratulations, you're born again, you are now brand new!

Get The Truth Right! (Part 2)
Last time I talked about why people claim the devil attacks them, and the question was and still is, “do we really get attacked by the devil?” To continue from where I stopped I said the popular Psalms 23:1 says, “The LORD is my shepherd”; a good Shepherd according to Jesus, gives His life for the sheep and Jesus said He is the good Shepherd! [Ref. John 10:11]. In other words we could say, Jesus takes all the attacks on our behalf, which includes that of the devil!
Psalms 23:4 says, “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.” This is a very strong confidence of assurance placed on Jesus as our protector; so the question still stands, “do we really get attacked by the devil?”
Again, Psalms 91:1-3 says, “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust.” Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence.” Psalms 91 as a whole and several scriptures have proven how God Almighty goes to the end to protect His children, and if you’re attacked, it implies something went wrong somewhere.
As humans, we hope a lot and one of these is protection; God on the other hand released His extravagant GRACE by providing us with everything we are ever going to need. The acceptance of this GRACE is called Faith! You have to believe God is protecting you; we may not see the physical evidence of someone standing and fighting off the devil. But beyond our physical sight, God is protecting us, we just have to believe it because we have our evidence- Jesus.
This is how it is, God has given us what we need, all we have and need to do is believe by receiving His gift. His gift is Jesus who represents salvation. Now salvation doesn’t only include eternal life, it includes protection from the evil one and many other goodies, it a total package! The new question now is “why then do people who claimed to have accepted Jesus as LORD still get attacked?”
To answer this question, log on tomorrow.
Why not accept Jesus Christ today if you haven’t . Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my LORD and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. Get The Truth Right! (Part 1)
There are times when strange and mysterious things happen to us and we conclude we’ve been attacked by the devil. But the question is do we really get attacked by the devil? If I recall correctly Jesus said in John 8:44 that there is no truth in the devil. As He continued, Jesus said, “when [the devil] speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.”
I ask you again, do we really get attacked by the devil? If I may recall again, Colossians 2:15 says, Jesus, “having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them triumphing over them in it.” Also Hebrews 2:14 says, “Inasmuch them the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their life time subject to bondage.”
Now, if Christ disarmed the powers of the devil in every form, why do people say they were attacked by the devil! Well, if you’re a Believer and you say you’re were attacked by the devil, then you don’t know why you became a Christian, or you don’t understand the authority given to you. If you still insist that you were attacked, then what you’re saying is that we serve a weak God who cannot protect His children.
Why am I saying this, the popular Psalms 23:1 says, “The LORD is my shepherd”. A good Shepherd according to Jesus gives His life for the sheep, and Jesus claims to be the good Shepherd [ref. John 10:11]. Psalms 23:4 says, “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.” This is another way the LORD protects us from the attack of the devil.

Focus Without Being Distracted
Have you noticed what happens when you beckon on someone but just as you beckon on the person, you immediately start talking with another person for a long time. The person you beckoned at first would feel you don't really need his help. But if you really need the person's help, you shut up any other distraction and then you focus on the person you beckoned and explain why he was called and you get the job done.
These scenarios also apply when you call Jesus. David said in Psalm 145:18-19, "The Lord is near to all upon Him, to all who call upon Him sincerely and in truth. He will fulfil the desires of those who reverently and worshipfully fear Him; He also will hear their cry and will save them." (Amplified version).
Now, this passage doesn't mean you have to start begging God, no you don't. To call upon God sincerely and in truth implies you really need God and more importantly it shows neither you nor another person can fix the problems you have.
As Apostle Paul said in Romans 10:9 which says, "that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." And verse 13 says, "whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved."
This action in Romans 10 is not a child's play, if you're in, you're in. You have to be serious, this is why the result of you calling Him is that, "He will fulfil the desires of those who reverently and worshipfully fear Him; He also will hear their cry and will save them."
The point here is that God has designed man to focus on only one thing, let me elaborate; as a human, you can see everything with your eyes, but you can only focus on one thing at a time; you can hear everything but you can only listen to one thing at a time and this applies to the other senses; it's just our focus.
If your focus is on Christ, it implies you've turned off every distraction and what happens when you do that is that, Christ would always be there when you need Him, you will hear Him clearly as He directs you and becomes the good Shepherd in Psalm 23, who is Jesus.
