Your Life Depends On Your Words

Hello everyone,

As I look at everyone, I see happy people, sad people, the rich and the not so rich. I also observe some people who work so hard but have nothing to show for it. Many wonder why things seem to be working fine and all of a sudden it doesn’t work again, or for others it doesn’t work at all, and still for some things always work fine with them, and these people live among themselves, what could be wrong? This was what I pondered upon. The answer wasn’t something I didn’t know but the emphasis on how serious the answer is, is what I intend discussing with you today. Many of you must have heard of something similar to the answer before, but why not read on to learn a thing or two, or everything.

The Amplified version of Proverbs 18:21 says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it [for death or life].” The Message Bible puts this same verse thus, “Words kill, words give life; they’re either poison or fruit—you choose.” Yeah, this verse is so familiar to you right? But have you ever meditated on it deeply, well I did and I want to share what I got again. Every word ever spoken is a command, and it is either life or death, in other words, it either gives life or death to where it is directed. Words are not meant to be spoken without reason, this was why Jesus said in Matthew 12:36 and 37, “But I tell you, on the day of judgement men will have to give account for every idle (inoperative, nonworking) word they speak. ₃₇For by your words you will be justified and acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned and sentenced.” Words were given to us to bring life or death to anything we direct it at, it was meant to have a purpose. This implies that whatever you listen to whether through music or in any form is bringing life or death to you.

Don’t forget God Almighty created the universe with words, the truth is that nothing moves without it being commanded to do so. So, if you have a situation that doesn’t show what is good, don’t think that is the end, you have your mouth to command what you want to see, this is the power God placed on this earth which is available to man in general. Words are like seeds that grow, and just as you have some seeds that germinate immediately and some which takes a while, words likewise could behave the same way. You can see that when Jesus cursed the fig tree, (ref.: Matthew 21:18-22; Mark 11:12-14, 20-24). The Matthew’s account says the tree withered immediately, while for that of Mark it wasn’t till the next before the tree withered immediately. But both are correct, the moment Jesus spoke, the roots withered immediately, in other words, the tree died in its roots, but wasn’t noticed until the next day when Peter spoke up.

As Sons of God, when things happen in your life which are not in line with the finished work of Jesus or Who Jesus is now, counter it using the word of God, because the word of God has all authority in heaven and on earth. You speak to your situation, if you have ill health, call the name of sickness or the disease and rebuke it using the word, this is proclaiming death to the situation. The word must be used, do not relax and receive it into your life, rather use the word of God in every situation of your life by confessing life. You were not born to live the suffering life of the world, you were born to live the perfect life of Christ and that is what you are meant to proclaim, confess and believe into your life every time. You are meant to have the word of God on your heart every second of the day, counter everything that is opposes that which Christ has established in you, watch what you listen to and be careful what you say because you are to know when to proclaim life and when to proclaim death as you live your daily life.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!

There Are No Accidents

Hello everyone,

Have you ever had it in your mind to go somewhere, but due to unseen circumstances, you were forced to stay back home which made you mad about it, but then something else happened while you were at home other events happened and you then found out it was actually better to stay at home because certain things wouldn’t have been done. A lady wasn’t happy she woke up late on a Monday morning, she was up all night working on a project, she knew she would be late for work, but it turned out she was very grateful she woke up late because if she turned up early, she would have been among the victims of 9/11, that’s because she worked in one of the twin towers.

One thing we need to know is that things don’t happen by accident, there is always a reason to be at every point that you find yourself. Jesus in John 4 left Judea and returned to Galilee, but to do that He had to go through Samaria. At a point, Jesus was tired and had to rest just where Jacob’s well was. I tell you, this was no accident because Jesus had understood there was a purpose of His being at the well, if not, He wouldn’t have recognised that the woman who came to fetch water needed to be saved. So, we could say Jesus got tired at the right spot and at the right time.

Proverbs 16:9 says, “A man’s mind plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps and makes them sure.” AMP. Proverbs 19:21 says, “Many plans are in a man’s mind, but it is the Lord’s purpose for him that will stand.” AMP. You need to understand that if a thing didn’t go as you planned it, what you think is what you could achieve where you are, in other words, there is a purpose for your being where you are, rather than ranting over your failed plan. I tell you, there are no accidents, the devil doesn’t want you to achieve anything, but what he knows which he doesn’t want you to know is that there is always a purpose to fulfil at any point that you find yourself, maybe something to do, or to learn, just something, so be on the alert, for there are no accidents.

Guard Your Tongue, Prevent Trouble

Happy new week everyone,

In one of my write-ups, I focused on Proverbs 18:20 which says, “A man’s stomach shall be satisfied from the fruit of his mouth; from the produce of his lips he shall be filled.” I emphasised that only words of wisdom would get this done, words which add value to the lives of people are what Proverbs 18:20 is talking about. On the other hand, Proverbs 21:23 says, “Whoever guards his mouth and tongue keeps his soul from troubles.” To speak with wisdom is not just to speak because you have a high level of knowledge, rather it is understanding the right time to speak, what to say, and who to say it to that matters.

One thing is to have knowledge, but knowledge has put many people in trouble because they lack wisdom, which is in line with what guarding your mouth means in Proverbs 21:23, and it doesn’t only refer to those who don’t have knowledge, but more to those who have all the knowledge, but don’t know how to apply it properly.

Several times, words have brought about quarrels just because someone didn’t speak the right words at the right time, or someone didn’t respond using the right words. But, the quarrel would have died immediately, but someone didn’t keep quiet, which made the quarrel to start. A wise man keeps quiet at the right time because he understands when to speak, and when not to speak. But one without understanding doesn’t know when to be quiet and he is regarded as a fool and this could put his or herself in trouble.

Wisdom is really the principal thing, and through her, you get promoted.

HE Is Complete In You

Happy Sunday everyone,

Growing up in Christ Jesus is an amazing experience as you are not growing up the way the world is but in a supernatural way. The moment you received Jesus into you, you received His Spirit, in other words, your Spirit was replaced with the new Spirit which is His very Spirit. Yes, you’ve heard this several times, but that’s not where I’m going. As we now know, we are Spirit beings who possess a soul and live in a body. The Spirit was the only part which was changed, which is the most important part of our transformation. It is then left to us to groom our soul where our mind, will, and emotions dwell to conform to the new Spirit, which in turn would affect our body. Thus, the more our soul submit to the Spirit, the more the Spirit gain access to the body by manifesting His presence there. But today, let’s focus a little at the Spirit of Truth we have received, shall we?

1 Corinthians 2:16 says, “For who has known or understood the mind (the counsels and purposes) of the Lord so as to guide and instruct Him and give Him knowledge? But we have the mind of Christ (the Messiah) and do hold the thoughts (feelings and purposes) of His heart.” AMP. No one before the coming of Jesus had ever understood the purposes or counsel of God, just as the prophet said, His ways are not our ways, neither are His thoughts our thoughts. But the moment we receive Jesus who is God into us, it was God who we received into us, and as such we have Him living in us, (I don’t think you got that), let me elaborate further.

The Spirit we received as we may think is just occupying the Spiritual space that was there before, but the Spirit we receive is a whole person we received, in other words, we received the Godhead as a whole, His mindset, what His thoughts are, His feelings and purpose, all these in the Spirit. This implies that our Spirit is so loaded that we haven’t even scratched the surface yet in manifesting Him here on earth. Colossians 2:9-10 says, “For in Him the whole fullness of Deity (the Godhead) continues to dwell in bodily form [giving complete expression of the divine nature]. ₁₀ And you are in Him, made full and having come to fullness of life [in Christ you too are filled with the Godhead—Father, Son and Holy Spirit—and reach full spiritual stature]. And He is the Head of all rule and authority [of every angelic principality and power].” AMP. This is deep, I’m jumping on my seat right now with so much excitement.

We have our own mind which dwells in our soul, but this is very much different from the mind of Christ found in His Spirit. As we walk with Him, we get transformed as our soul starts to submit to Him then His mind starts to become our mind, His will starts to become ours, and His emotions starts to become our emotion, and this affects our body directly as we see His fullness start manifesting in our bodies. This is where the transformation of the last day begins, and not when Jesus comes back alone, the reason for this is because we now have His very existence, we have no life but His. Our bodies start to reflect Him as we live. This is the truth and we must believe to express His presence here on earth.

The Bandwagon Effect

Happy weekend everyone,

In a past blog post, I explained how Jesus had lived our lives ahead of us; He lived our lives and came out victorious. So what we are doing is just repeating every move Jesus made which made Him victorious, which of course makes us victorious through Grace because the real battle we would face had been won already by Jesus. We are therefore to meditate on the scriptures and listen to the Holy Spirit for direction leading us on the path Jesus took which we are to take. This is living by faith.

Today, I’ll explain how humans live their lives in what I call a ‘bandwagon effect’. According to Investopedia, the bandwagon effect “is a psychological phenomenon in which people do something primarily because other people are doing it, regardless of their own beliefs, which they may ignore or override.” I explained in an earlier blog that humans do things which are general because they feel it is a norm on how to live. But based on what I have explained before, everybody has a particular path of life God has designed for us which Jesus lived on our behalf so that when we live the life it would be smooth for us.

Have you ever thought of the fact that Jesus never made a mistake? This is because Jesus followed every step of His Father’s direction, not His own direction [ref.: John 14:10]. This is how we are supposed to live our lives really and become successful at everything in life; this is what eternal life really is.

Eternal life doesn’t mean living forever, because whether one goes to heaven or hell, the person lives forever. What exactly is eternal life? Jesus Himself gave the answer in John 17:3, as properly elaborated in the Amplified translation, it says, “And this is eternal life: [it means] to know (to perceive, recognize, become acquainted with, and understand) You, the only true and real God and [likewise] to know Him, Jesus [as the] Christ (the Anointed One, the Messiah), Whom You have sent.” This is what eternal life really is, becoming fused with God in Spirit, knowing God in-depth, in another sense becoming God, that is having His Spirit; and this can only happen when you accept Jesus as the Lord of your life; your old Spirit is then taken away and the Spirit of Jesus becomes your new Spirit [ref.: 2 Corinthians 5:17].

The term “know” as used in John 17:3 is the same original meaning of the “knew” used in Genesis 4:1, when Adam knew his wife, not sexual intercourse, but having a covenant as becoming one in-depth (this is why one shouldn’t just have sex outside God’s approval which is in Holy Matrimony because to have sex is to have a covenant with your partner).

We are not animals or robots; that is why God gave us a unique life different from another person. By faith we believe Jesus lived our lives ahead of us as He destroyed the sin of the world on the cross and came out victorious when He resurrected and God gave Him all authority in heaven, earth and under the earth, which is the authority we get to share. Now anything that is not in line with who Jesus is right now is regarded as sin, e.g. sickness, diseases, poverty, spiritual battles even physical battles etc. Jesus destroyed everything at the cross.

So when you see any battle in real life, don’t fear, instead remember, the very battle you see infront of you was won by Jesus Himself. So, make sure you listen to the Holy Spirit to direct you on how Jesus won the battle; don’t live a ‘bandwagon effect’ kind of life, instead live your own life which is the life God has designed for you. DON’T ASSUME YOU KNOW, ASK HIM THROUGH PRAYER AND EXPECT AN ANSWER. This is the gospel truth.

Know What Risk To Take

Hello everyone,

I have said this before that everything we do in life, whether in the decisions we make or the choices we take are all defined as risks. The future is beyond us and anticipating it is what is common to man. Following the trends and patterns we see, we anticipate the future, and this is also defined as a risk. But with God, He doesn’t want us to use where we are to determine our future, He wants us to use Him to determine our future, and this is also a risk, but what risk are we going to take the risk of the ordinary man, or the risk God wants us to take.

Man cannot see beyond their nose, so, their anticipation can fail at any time, which we see everywhere around us as we see theories and predictions fail. But what is the assurance that taking the risk depending on God would go fine? It is the person who gave us the assurance—God.

Jesus who is God made us understand that He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, (ref.: John 14:6). And being the Truth, it implies that He cannot conceive any lie. Whatever He says must come to pass. He is not an ordinary man that would lie, change their words, (ref.: Numbers 23:19), that is one phase. Another phase is that He knows the end from the beginning, with is an evidence to show for it through the scriptures and in people’s lives.

This goes to show that you can always bank on Jesus any time any day without getting disappointed. No matter what you are going through, once God has assured you of the success of the path you are taking, don’t get worried or anxious because He has assured you of victory, and the victory is already yours because Jesus has gone ahead to sort everything out, only walk into the victory set for you.

Being The Doer (Part 2)

Hi everyone,

Yesterday, my focus was on the importance of being the doer of the Word and not just a hearer alone. And as faith comes by hearing through the Word of God, likewise, we are meant to be empowered by Grace through faith when we hear the Word of God. The man who hears the Word, but doesn’t become a doer of the Word is likened to the seed that fell by the wayside in the parable of the sower which Jesus gave, (ref.: Matthew 13:3-23; Mark 4:2-20; Luke 8:4-15).

Jesus said in Matthew 13:3b-4, “Behold, a sower went out to sow. ₄ And as he sowed, some seed fell by the wayside; and the birds came and devoured them.” In the explanation of the parable, Jesus said in Matthew 13:19, “When anyone hears the word of the kingdom, and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is he who received seed by the wayside.”

Hearing the word is not the major issue because anyone can hear the word. The major thing is to retain the word and use the word, which makes you the doer of the word.

Many times, the children of God haven’t shown the world that the Word of God goes beyond hearing, but that it has its practical side to it. In other words, it is life itself, the real life, and the children of God are the Ambassadors of this real life, and being an Ambassador, you need to live this real life, to show the world that the state of their world is inferior and on a wrong platform. This is why being the doer of the Word and not being a hearer alone is very important.

It is important to understand as previous blog post, that the world is so wrong that if you being a child of God do not fight for what you stand for which is the Truth, by believing in the Grace through faith, you could be swept away by the wiles of the devil, because his job is to get every human being to join him, to die with him on the last day. He has hated the human race from the very beginning, and he hates the children of God even more because they know the Truth and are on the path of Truth. This is why we shouldn’t just hear the word, but we should take hold of the word quickly, and with the help of the Holy Spirit we become the doer of the word.

The devil hunts for the word away from those who do not make use of word immediately, these become the hearer alone and have no understanding of the word, not even becoming a doer of the word. Remember, the devil is like a roaring lion seeking whom he would devour. This is why we should be sober and be vigilant, guarding the Word of Truth we receive, (ref.: 1 Peter 5:8).
