This Is How Grace Works

Happy weekend everyone,

Grace is what everyone wants to see in everything they do, but how do we know when grace appears in our lives? Many feel grace is seeing more returns than the regular from our regular work, such as more money more than the worth of what we did, but that isn’t exactly how grace works in our lives. So, how does grace work?

Going straight to the point of what grace is, is to understand the origin of grace itself. Grace came about when Jesus Christ was raised from the grave. To be honest, grace has nothing to do with your effort at all, in other words, it isn’t the extraordinary return based on our work, rather it is living another person’s life, and what do I mean by that?

God created man to live a perfect life, in other words, having His life; Adam would have achieved this if He ate from the tree of life and not the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, so as we know he ate from the wrong tree which made him completely imperfect because he was separated from God.

God had laws given to man which man couldn’t keep because he was imperfect. The law wasn’t given to making us perfect but was given to us to show us that we need a saviour. Jesus was the only man who kept the law and every other God put on the table, in other words, Jesus was the only perfect human, and as such was one with the Father [God]. No other man could meet up to God’s standard as Jesus did.

Jesus was given all authority in heaven and earth, in a layman language, every goodie beyond your wildest dreams was given to Jesus. Now, what do all these have to do with grace?

John 3:16 says who so ever believes in Jesus would not perish but have everlasting life; Ephesians 2:9 says that we are saved not by works but by grace so that no one would boast. What does that mean?

The moment we received Jesus as Lord, we die and receive the new life of Christ. Now, because we have the new life of Christ, everything Christ got because of His perfect life was given to us on a platter, the only way we can see this work in our lives is just by believing it [that we have everything Jesus got], it is that simple! Remember we don’t have a “life” again, because our life now is the life of Christ, but it doesn’t end there.

I said those who are born of God have received the perfect life of Christ on a platter, all we need to do is to confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (ref. Romans 10:9). Now, with all these, how is it applied?

As Christ has saved us from our sin, the joy is so much that you would want to tell everyone around you the good news. Those who heard this news and became born of God received the Holy Spirit in them, it is the Holy Spirit in them that directs those born of the Spirit how to spread this good news, and it comes in different forms as the Holy Spirit directs you. As the Holy Spirit guides your every move, your faith grows more and more as your understanding about what Christ has done get clearer by the day, thereby making you believe all the more as doubt, fear, unbelief reduces more and more, thereby allowing the grace to flow.

Now, as you live more and more in Christ, you unlock more blessings of grace upon your life, the truth is that all you just want to do is just spread the good news is whatever way the Holy Spirit has called you, be it in business, entertainment, health and so on, and of cause you go about doing good. This is why a person could get a brand new car because it is needed for him to propagate the gospel. Remember what Jesus said in Matthew 6:33 that we should seek first the kingdom of God and its righteousness, and all other things shall be added. The other things have a reason for its appearance, and it is because of the kingdom work.

All these things do not happen based on our physical work, they come as the need appears, this is where we see what Jesus earned come to play just like that. This is the gospel truth.

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!

Really, Why Am I On This Planet? (Part 2)

Hi everyone,

In my last write-up, using Ephesians 4:11-13, I was able to explain how those born of God are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. This would lead to knowing what we are here to do earth.

According to Ephesians 4:11-13, I explained that we are meant to have the fullness of God in us, in other words, there shouldn’t be any difference between Christ and us, on how to live. The first part God wants man to become is to have the fullness of Christ in us, so, with all these, what exactly is meant to here on earth?

Since we have the life of Christ, let’s take a look at how Jesus lived His life while He was here on earth in Acts 10:38, “How God anointed and consecrated Jesus of Nazareth with the [Holy] Spirit and with strength and ability and power; how He went about doing good and, in particular, curing all who were harassed and oppressed by [the power of] the devil, for God was with Him.” AMP. Jesus had the Holy Spirit in Him, which everyone born of God has, but one thing was clear about what Jesus did, He went about doing good, how? By using the powers of the Holy Spirit. Of course, that’s so obvious [rolling eyes]. But what did the Holy Spirit do in Him?

God has given everyone a talent or a gift, it is this that the Holy Spirit uses in us to carry out the good deed. Jesus was a person full of hospitality and the Holy Spirit empowered that in Him as He went about doing good. The question now is, do you know the talent God has given you because this is what the Holy Spirit would empower you to go about doing good.

The whole essence of doing good is that the world is full of evil, and an act of good empowered by the Holy Spirit allows the unsaved to see the love of God through you, and as a result receive His love and Grace through Christ in you.

No matter what you do here on earth, it has to what God has put in you and would be empowered by the Holy Spirit, this is because the nature of man is selfish and only wants things for himself. Jesus said He came not to be served but to served, this is the same with those born of God, you are meant to serve, by going about doing good, in so doing the world would become a better place.

Really, Why Am On This Planet? (Part 1)

Hello everyone,

You wake up one day and find yourself here on this planet, well that doesn’t fall upon us all of a sudden, but as we gain consciousness of our environment we ask the question why we were born. Well, Ephesians 4:11-13 said something that I feel is quite interesting, and it says,

“And His [God’s] were [varied; He Himself appointed and gave men to us] some to be apostles (special messengers), some prophets (inspired preachers and expounders), some evangelists (preachers of the Gospel, traveling missionaries), some pastors (shepherds of His flock) and teachers. His intention was the perfecting and the full equipping of the saints (His consecrated people), [that they should do] the work of ministering toward building up Christ’s body (the church), [that it might develop] until we all attain oneness in the faith and in the comprehension of the [full and accurate] knowledge of the Son of God, that [we might arrive] at really mature manhood (the completeness of personality which is nothing less than the standard height of Christ’s own perfection), the measure of the stature of the fullness of the Christ and the completeness found in Him.” AMP.

In understanding these verses which Apostle Paul wrote, God’s intention is for us to be one with Him in Christ Jesus, this is why He has ordained some the Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, and Teachers, who would guide those born of God towards attaining the mature manhood which is nothing less than the standard height of Christ’s own perfection. In other words, as Christ is the firstborn in the new covenant, thus having the life, Spirit and nature of God, we also are expected to have the exact life of God, just as Christ does.

Many of us tend to look unto to God as unworthy people, like a maggot, worms before God. True we didn’t deserve God’s mercy and Grace, but God made us righteous, and as you are now righteous, your life is not a maggot anymore, you are now the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus!

So, what were you born to do here on earth? To answer this question is to first know who you are, which is that you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, in other words, as Christ is exactly, so are you here on earth, because you carry the same Spirit of Christ which is the Spirit of God, in other words, you are now one with God. The question now is, now that you know that you have the Spirit of Christ, what am I to do here on earth? Log on next time as I break this down.

It's All A Mirage !

Hi everyone,

Going by what I wrote last time, we now understand that the moment we received Christ as Lord we became righteous, and it didn’t come by works, but as a gift through faith, likewise we cannot be unrighteous through our works, but by renouncing Christ as Lord. There is a new level you have been placed that makes you “immune” to the sinful nature. As the Bible says in Ephesians 2:6 that we seated with Christ Jesus in heavenly places. If we were unrighteous we won’t and would never sit with the righteous One who is Jesus. 2 Corinthians 5:21 says, “For He [God] made Him [Jesus] who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”

Now that you who are righteous in Christ know that you have Christ living in you literarily, the question now is, why do those born of God still giving the devil power? What do I mean by this?

Many of us think we get attacked by the devil. I used to think that way too until I studied the scriptures better with the Holy Spirit opening my eyes to deeper insights. So today, I will show you how powerless the devil is, and how he doesn’t any power. I’m sure it is dawning on many of us at the moment that the devil doesn’t have any power, but still, I must break this down to us.

Now, where should I start? In John 8 Jesus spoke of the devil where He said in verse 44, “…He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources [in other words, his native dialect], for he is a liar and the father of it. There is nothing the devil would say or do that is the truth, because he can never stand in the truth, which implies that all that we call attacks from the devil have all been fake. This may not be convincing enough, let me go further.

Let’s look at Colossians 2:15, Apostle Paul wrote on what God did when Jesus went to hell when He died, “He stripped all the spiritual tyrants in the universe of their sham authority at the Cross and marched them naked through the streets.” Message. The devil lost his powers because the powers he possessed were given to him by Adam which was what God disarmed him.

Jesus said in Mark 16:17-18 when He rose from the dead, “And these signs will follow those who believe: in My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

The truth is that just as we see a pond on the water in the desert and as we get close it disappears, likewise, the devil’s attack is to us. What the devil wants us to do is to acknowledge that we are attacked because our tongue carries power, so the devil speaks to our thoughts and it is left for us to believe his lies or rebuke them using the Word of God as the sword and shield of faith.

Unless the devil is as powerful as Christ [GOD FORBID!!!] then you can be attacked, or don’t you get it? You cannot protect yourself, Jesus is our protection because we are in Him and live in Him.

Remember this, “We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him.” 1 John 5:18.

Know Who You Are

Hello everyone,

In my last two write-up, I gave a closer look at what salvation really means, of which I believe I was able to break it down enough for further enlightenment. As we now know, we weren’t given a second chance because the old man who was in us died, so there was no one to give a second chance [if you don’t know, read my write-up of April 1st and 2nd]. The new life in us is the life of Christ, in other words, Christ is the one living in us, which is why we can’t sin, and if we sin, it is because we are ignorant of our new life, thinking we still have our old life and we need to work hard to please God. Well, here’s the breaking news, you cannot please God through your actions, and you can only please God through your faith in Christ, (Hebrews 11:6). And the faith in Christ is to believe in Christ and that we are joint heirs with Him.

Colossians 3:1-3 says, “If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.” As we received Christ, Christ became our life. In other words, when God looks at those born of God, He sees Christ and not them anymore, because their old life was crucified.

Galatians 5:24 says, “And those who belong to Christ Jesus (the Messiah) have crucified the flesh (the godless human nature) with its passions and appetites and desires.” AMP. This further emphasises the fact that we cannot sin anymore because the sinful nature has been crucified. Apostle Paul said in Romans 6:1-4,

“WHAT SHALL we say [to all this]? Are we to remain in sin in order that God’s grace (favour and mercy) may multiply and overflow? Certainly not! How can we who died to sin live in it any longer? Are you ignorant of the fact that all of us who have been baptised into Christ Jesus were baptised into His death? We were buried therefore with Him by the baptism into death, so that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious [power] of the Father, so we too might [habitually] live and behave in newness of life.” AMP

Apostle Paul went further in verse 6 and said, “We know that our old (unrenewed) self was nailed to the cross with Him in order that [our] body [which is the instrument] of sin might be made ineffective and inactive for evil, that we might no longer be slaves of sin.”

Sin itself is not by action but by nature. We sinned before because Adam sinned, because we got the nature of sin from him, so no matter how many good deeds you do, you were still a sinner just because of Adam. But now when you are now in Christ, you are righteous because of Christ and you got the nature of righteousness from Him, so no matter the wrong you do, it doesn’t make you unrighteous because righteousness is not of works, but it is a gift. Righteousness is a Spirit because when you receive it, you grow in it, remember you don’t have your old nature, so your Spirit is prone to do what is righteous because IT IS YOUR NATURE! Your old nature wears out because it died the moment you received Christ, so if you see a sinful action, they are the residues of the old nature which are wearing out quickly as the new nature of Christ is being established in your soul. Do not be carried away by word of deception, you can never be unrighteous through your action unless you renounce Christ as Lord of your life.

So I say, “…grow in grace (undeserved favour, spiritual strength) and recognition and knowledge and understanding of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ (the Messiah). To Him [be] glory (honour, majesty, and splendour) both now and to the day of eternity. Amen (so be it)!” 2 Peter 3:18 AMP.

What Exactly Is Salvation? (Part 2)

Hello everyone,

Yesterday, I looked at what salvation really means, because it appears many of us have limited the true meaning of what salvation really means through our human mind. As I concluded yesterday, I said, “What God did was that He eliminated and destroyed our old man immediately we decided to receive Christ. We died! What we fear would happen in future happened when we received Christ. The new man in us is Christ and not our old man who was given a second chance. How else would it make any sense for the scripture to say “as He is so are we in this world” (ref. 1 John 4:17), if it was He Himself who dwells in us.” So, what is the essence of all these?

Philip in John 14:8 said, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us.” Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father.” This is what Jesus has established through us, that if anyone sees a person born of God, then they’ve seen Jesus, why is this so? It is so because we carry the exact, same Spirit. For Apostle Paul established that in Ephesians 4:4, “There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling”. The ‘you’ that you knew doesn’t exist anymore, it is Christ who lives in you now, this is why you need to study and meditate on who you are. The more you study about Jesus, you’re studying about yourself. This is why we are no longer to conform to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of our mind (ref. Romans 12:2).

Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 7:2 said he has wronged no one, but how could this be true when he was once the chief persecutor of the church before Jesus appeared to him on the way to Damascus. Paul was saying the truth in 2 Corinthians 7:2, because the Paul (Saul) who persecuted the church and the Paul after Jesus appeared to him are two different people. It is not an opportunity to camouflage under Christ, no! It is the truth, the moment Paul received Jesus as Lord of his life, his old spirit died, and Jesus replaced that Spirit. And in heaven God holds no record of our old life because the old life is dead. So, Paul was referring to his new man.

Now, what is salvation and grace here? Philippians 2:9 says, “Therefore God also has highly exalted Him [Jesus] and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Now, what does this have to do with me? Apostle Paul in the Ephesians prayer, Ephesians 1:19 and 20 said, “And [so that you can know and understand] what is that immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength, which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His [own] right hand in heavenly [places].” AMP.

Everything that God bestowed on Jesus has been bestowed upon us exactly, nothing left. This is the salvation and grace, that He gave us His life in its entirety, in the real sense because He lives in us, this is the true salvation. It is not of works so no man should boast, as Ephesians 2:8-9 says,

“For it is by free grace (God’s unmerited favour) that you are saved (delivered from judgement and made partakers of Christ’s salvation) through [your] faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [of your own doing, it came not through your own striving], but it is the gift of God; not because of works [not the fulfilment of the Law’s demands], lest any man should boast. [It is not the result of what anyone can possibly do, so no one can pride himself in it or take glory to himself.]” AMP.

Let us get this into our minds, because remember we were never good enough, and if it is by works still, after giving ourselves to Christ, we are still not good enough this is why it is a FREE GIFT.

Get this straight, God did not give you a second chance, you are Jesus in the flesh and you need to know that, or else the power God cannot flow through you, because it only flows through the Spirit of Jesus. Know who you are by studying and meditating on Jesus who is the Word, and the Holy Spirit will guide, counsel and interpret the scriptures to you, and as He is so you would be here on earth. Remember, whatever He possesses are what you also possess, just believe that.

“…so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have (everlasting) life.” John 3:16b AMP.

What Exactly Is Salvation? (Part 1)

It’s Easter everyone,

Today is the day we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ which happened about 2,000 years ago. A person who has no idea about what Easter celebration is all about might ask what Easter was meant for, and many might answer saying something like, “it is the celebration of the resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ”. And the person might ask what we were saved from, and the answer might be something like, “from our sins”, quotation such as Romans 5:8 could be given, which says, “But God shows and clearly proves His [own] love for us by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One) died for us.” AMP. All these are true, but the person could ask, “what is the benefit of all these?” Yeah, many might say things like “we would go to heaven and be with Jesus on the last day or when we die”. But are answers like these or even saying Jesus gave us salvation really answering the questions or convincing enough for a person to jump up and say, “I get it now”. Yeah, of course, we would probably justify our statement by saying, “It is the Holy Spirit who convicts”. My write up today is most likely not for babies, but for the mature. My question today is “What Exactly Is Salvation?”

We often say we received Grace through faith in Christ Jesus when we received Christ into our lives, this is the benefit of our salvation in Christ, but do we really understand the word salvation. I’m not going to start showing you the etymological meaning of the word salvation, that’s not my point, my point is to give us further enlightenment on salvation and grace, for it appears we have limited our understanding on what salvation really mean.

In simple terms, the moment we received Christ into our lives, we died, we ceased to exist. Some of us would be like, “yeah right, I knew that”, but the question here is, have you ever calm down to understand what it means to die or cease to exist? Let’s take a look at two popular verses of the Bible shall we? 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creation altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!” AMP; then Galatians 2:20 says, “I have been crucified with Christ [in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ (the Messiah) lives in me; and the life I now live in the body I live by faith in (by adherence to the reliance on and complete trust in) the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself up for me.” AMP.

Both 2 Corinthians 5:17 and Galatians 2:20 says, you became a new person when you received Christ into your life. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says you became a brand new person altogether because of your old self-died (ref. Galatians 2:20). Now, who is this new person who lives in you? Jesus! Jesus is the new person who lives in you, or you could say, the Spirit of Jesus lives in you. This is why 1 John 3:9 says, “No one born (begotten) of God [deliberately, knowingly, and habitually] practices sin, for God’s nature abides in him [His principle of life, the divine sperm, remains permanently within him]; and he cannot practice sinning because he is born (begotten) of God.” AMP. But why do we see those born of God still sinning even when this verse has been written? The answer is simple, those born of God would still continue to sin because they think their old man is still alive and was given a second chance, so they strive with all their strength and might to be perfect before God, but guess what, God never gave us a second chance. That sounds surprising, right?

What God did was that He eliminated and destroyed our old man immediately we decided to receive Christ. We died! What we fear would happen in future happened when we received Christ. The new man in us is Christ and not our old man who was given a second chance. How else would it make any sense for the scripture to say “as He is so are we in this world” (ref. 1 John 4:17) if it was He Himself who dwells in us.

We haven’t gotten to the heat of the moment. Log on same time tomorrow to continue the unravelling of what our salvation truly mean.
