What You Should Know During This Pandemic

Hi everyone,

I first published this write-up on the 22nd of September, 2017 titled "There Is a Secret Place", and I felt this should be republished in the season we are in, to strengthen you all. God bless you.

I went through Psalm 91:1-2, which is quite popular, and it says, “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust.” I always quoted these verses, especially verse 1, but there is a thing to quote a scripture verse and another thing to properly understand what it means especially in this new dispensation of the finished work of Jesus. If you’ve been following my blog what I’m about to tell you is just to refresh your memory.

I started with the keyword “secret place”, which some other translations put as “shelter”. A shelter is a safe place where no danger could come, and now this is not just a shelter, but a shelter of the Most High God. Then the verse continues saying the person who dwells in the secret place would abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

Now, the keyword in the second part of verse 1 is “shadow”. To abide under the shadow implies the person is covering you like a shade, and in this case, the shadow serves as protection in the sense of nobody seeing you but the Almighty. Verse 1 being a powerful verse made me understand to what length God has decided to protect us.

Colossians 3:3-4 which explains how as we switched over to a brand new life by being born again, our lives are now hidden in Christ and verse 4 explains how Christ then becomes our lives. This then explains what Psalm 91:1 really means, as we died, our new life which is under Christ became hidden in Christ, which means Christ became our "us", so if anyone is coming to challenge you, they don’t see you, it is Christ they meet because He has chosen to become our lives.

So, what challenges are you facing today, just name it? Is it sickness, poverty, depression, marital issues, stress, they all have a name and the One whose name is above every and any other name is your protector and covering, the one whom they would meet if they intend to attack you. Just know that Jesus is standing as you protecting you from anything that isn't from God, this is why verse 2 came about which says, “I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust.””. It is after the experience of verse 1 that the person in question would be able to testify that God Almighty is his/her refuge and fortress, the One whom he/she would trust. But the question here is, does this happen automatically, what do I mean by that?

The beginning of verse 1 of Psalm 91 says, “He who dwells…” which implies it is a choice we have to make for ourselves, and this can only happen if you’re ready to trust God. His ways may seem not to make sense, but remember, He is God Almighty who knows the end from the beginning. Humility is when you cast all your burdens upon Jesus, in other words letting go and allowing God to take over your life.

The creator can never make a mistake and the great news is that He put you in Himself, which shows someone who cares. Trust is always the keyword, what do you have to lose? It’s not like your ways were better in the first place. Learn to trust God and you would enter the high incomprehensible level of God has always had for you.

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!
