A Closer Look At The Two Trees In The Garden of Eden

There is a popular story at the beginning of the Bible, which of course is a true life story. This story is based on the first humans or we could say the first couple. The couple as we know is Adam and Eve. When created, God drew Adam’s attention to two trees (the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil). God told Adam “…of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” (Genesis 2:16-17).

Many of us just read that part without really knowing that the trees actually symbolises something. These trees are not ordinary, in Genesis 3:6-7 it says “So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings.” What was in the tree that changed the life of Adam and Eve? Let’s find out.

As I said earlier, those trees are not ordinary, they both symbolise something. When Jesus spoke in John 14:6, He didn’t say “I am a way, a truth, and a life. I am a medium to which you can come to the Father”. But naaah... what Jesus actually said is, “...I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” Note the emphasis on the term “The” and the word “no one”. It is clear to say that Jesus is the ONLY LIFE! Therefore, the tree of Life in the Garden of Eden was actually Jesus Christ Himself as a tree. Hmmmn... so what about the other tree?

Now, the only thing in the Bible that has a perfect resemblance to the tree of the knowledge of good and evil... it is the LAW! Only the law tells you what is good and evil. Let’s take a look at Romans 7:8 “But sin taking opportunity, produced in me all manner of evil desire. For apart from the law sin was dead”. Thus, apart from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, sin was dead in man. Also look at Romans 7:7, “What shall we say then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! On the contrary, I would not have known sin except through the law. For I would not have known covetousness unless the law had said “You shall not covet””.

Again, let’s look at 1st Corinthians 15:58, “The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law”. It is so evident to say the tree of the knowledge of good and evil represents the law. Note, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil wasn’t a bad tree. It was not called the tree of the knowledge of evil, but the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. But there is nothing wrong in knowing what is good and evil. That’s how Man lives in today’s world. But I tell you everything is wrong! The question now is to know why it is wrong to know what is good and what is evil.

Log on, same time tomorrow to know why it is wrong to know what is good and bad.

Living The Will of GOD

Yesterday, we looked at what the will of God is, because many people feel their prayers are not answered which to them wasn’t done according to the will of God, going by what 1st John 5:14 says, which is “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us”. But this scripture is often times misinterpreted by believers themselves. Today, I intend to present to you a less technical way of knowing the will of God.

I quoted several scriptures yesterday which I used to analyse the process at which believers would arrive at the will of God. True, the process started yesterday is right, but it could lead to self-confidence or self-righteousness which is what God doesn’t want. Now, what is the straight forward answer in knowing the will of God? Let’s take a look at Matthew 7:7.

Matthew 7:7 says, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you”. If you read verses 8 through to 11, Jesus explains to us that parents even with their evil mind cannot deny their children what is rightfully theirs. As He puts in verse 11 “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!” Luke’s account of this in Luke 11:13 says “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” Note, the Matthew’s and Luke’s account. The Matthew’s says the Father will give “good things to those who ask Him!”

Luke’s made us know what that “good thing” is. Luke says the Father will give the “Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”
What am I pointing out here? The only good thing God wants to give us is Himself! Through the Holy Spirit! What does this have to do with the will of God? It has everything to do with it. The moment you make Jesus Lord and owner of your life, the Holy Spirit is then given upon request or laying of hands. This makes everything easy. The will of God is not in the doing but in the following! Following who? The Holy Spirit!

The Holy Spirit who is now your: comforter, counselor, and helper (ref.: John 14:16) brings out Jesus who is now your life in everything you do (ref.: Colossians 3:4). Therefore, the Holy Spirit tells you when to study the WORD of God; when to pray; when to rejoice; when to give thanks and transforms you. It is not in what you do that makes you do the will of God, but you following Him is what makes you live the will of God. This is because there is no general way the Holy Spirit speaks to believers but there is a general goal which is bringing out the Christ in you!

The point here is not to check whether you remembered to pray or to rejoice or to give thank, the only thing is to listen to the word and follow. Following principles leads to self-righteousness which leads to sin, which was why the law brought about sin in the first place, but if you just follow the Holy Spirit who abides in you forever, you will live and fulfill the will of God. Therefore, whatever you ask, seek and knock will be answered because you always ask according to His will! NO STRESS, JUST FOLLOW.

What Is The Will Of GOD?

What is the will of God? This is a question that comes on everyone’s mind especially believers. Well, if you want a straight forward answer, we could take a look at 1st Thessalonians 5:16-18 which says, “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” Three things were stated the scripture read which are: 1. Rejoice always, 2. Pray without ceasing, and 3. In everything give thanks. It sounds very simple right? Yes it does, but no one just wakes up in the morning and rejoices always or prays without ceasing or gives thanks in everything. There must have been a propelling factor that caused these three to come to pass. What is this factor?

Romans 12:1 and 2, explains this. It says, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” These verses make 1st Thessalonians 5:16-18 clearer and how can it be achieved. One has to first of all present his body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God. When this done, there is the need to be transformed by the renewal of the mind which would make one not to conform to the patterns of the world. The mind renewal would lead the person to PROVE what the good, perfect and acceptable WILL of God is for one’s life. But again, how can one just present his body as a living sacrifice to God?

In order to present yourself as a living sacrifice, it has to do with you and what you stand for. According to Galatians 2:20 from the Amplified version, it says, “I have been crucified with Christ [in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ (the Messiah) lives in me; and the life I now live in the body I live by faith in (by adherence to and reliance on and complete trust in) the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself up for me.” This implies that once you’ve accepted Jesus as LORD and owner of your life, you are supposed to know that it is because of what Jesus did on the cross, He taking your place and His resurrection that you are saved. (NOTE: IF YOU WEREN’T TOLD THIS, FIND A BELIEVER TO EXPLAIN IT TO YOU). Now after this, you are expected to adhere to, rely on and have complete trust in JESUS with the Holy Spirit in you whom God has sent, Who is now your life.

Now when this happens, this happens, the Holy Spirit enables you present your body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God. Then you get transformed by the renewal of your mind through the study of the Word of God, (ref.:2nd Timothy 2:15). With this, the Holy Spirit who is in your counsellor explains what the Word studied means, thus allowing the words of your mouth and the meditation of your heart become acceptable to God. And if what you always think about is His Word, naturally you then prove what the good and acceptable and perfect will of God is.
This is a vivid look at what really leads to knowing the will of God. The truth here is that all these stated above happens within split seconds, but it still appears technical right? Right!

How To Use Mystery and not History

Hello everyone, welcome to the site where you get to know what the gospel truth really is.

Yesterday, we looked at the level to which Christians are to determine the present, and that is through the use of mystery. As was said, man makes use of past events to determine the present, Christians are to use the future to determine the present. Using the future is by bringing to the fore what hasn't happened before. This is a mystery which GOD/CHRIST uses. But the point I want you to know is who the mystery is.

Colossians 1:26&27 explains who the mystery is. This mystery was hidden from both angels and men for ages and generations, but is now revealed to GOD'S Holy people. Now, who are GOD'S Holy people. They are those who have accepted JESUS as LORD of their life and has received a brand new Spirit which would enable them to have the mind of CHRIST (1 Corinthians 2:16).

Having the mind of CHRIST enables you to operate like HIM because CHRIST is the mystery, as it is said in Colossians 1:27 which says "...Christ in you, the hope of glory." The power in Christians is the same power that was given to JESUS by GOD when HE rose from the grave (Philippians 2:9&10). This is the authority we use when call things forth from future.

There are deeper truths to this on how to call things from the future into the now. This would be explained in the next blog.

Mystery and not History

Hi everyone, happy Sunday, sorry this is coming quite late, however, I believe you would enjoy today's blog.

I'm a person who loves cartoons a lot, well... logical ones. Why am I saying this? I watched a cartoon some time ago and an elderly man gave a saying. He said "yesterday is history, tomorrow is mystery, but today is a gift that is why it is called present". When I saw this, I marveled and GOD inspired me with this quote and the revelation is what I want to share with you.
There are things that limit the decisions of man. This aspect is what I call risk taking, but man believes otherwise.

Why am I saying this? When man concludes on a thing, he uses the theory of the past to decide what would happen in the present. An example to this is water. Now because two molecules of hydrogen and one molecule of oxygen gave water last year, last month, last week, yesterday, one could then conclude that the result of two molecules of hydrogen and one molecule of water will be water today.

In everything in life, man bases his theories on what has happened earlier (laws of thermodynamics, law of gravity etc). For me this is risky, this implies that man bases his theories on history. They can't determine  the future. The strategy used is wrong. They can't understand GOD that way, because GOD doesn't use history, instead HE uses mystery. Take a look at all the miracles in the Bible from Genesis one to the parting of the red sea, the destruction of the wall of Jericho, the feeding of the five thousand, the raising of Lazarus, JESUS walking on water etc. All these denied the theories created by man, therefore denying the use of historical theorems.

When you walk with GOD always expect the unexpected. But now as Christians we are supposed to know and understand these mysteries because the Bible says the things that have been a mystery to man have been revealed to us through the Holy Spirit [ref. 1 Corinthians 2:10]. The things of GOD are full of mysteries, but we have CHRIST in us and also have HIS mind that is why we perform mysterious things when doing things.

In line with languages, speaking in tongues is referred to as speaking mysteries according to 1 Corinthians 14:2, because when we pray to GOD, we could be weak when we pray based our five senses. This is why Romans 8:26 says "likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God". Tongues are mysteries bringing the mystery to the present. In other words, acting like GOD.

Furthermore, with the proper understanding of this, we now know why faith is very important in the Christian life, that is "the substance of things hoped for, the evidence not seen". The substance hoped for is mystery, so in other words, we are to bring things to pass from mystery. Christians are meant to be unique and easily identified because we are to live by faith and not depending on the historic theory of man before things are done. Man uses history to determine the present but Christians through the Holy Spirit using mysteries to determine the present.

Who And Not What Do You Confess When You Sin?

Hello everyone, welcome to the 2nd day of the 1st in the 16th year of the 21st century what you would otherwise call 2nd January, 2016. We've finally gotten to the question that has been moved forward several times, but now we'll get to know what Christians are to do when they falter or in simple terms, when they sin. I'd like you to hang on as we take a ride into the gospel truth.

To refresh your memory, I'd give a "short summary" on how we got to this question. In the old covenant, man was to bring a sacrifice to GOD to appease HIM of our sins. But the sacrifice offered covered the sins committed from the last sacrifice till the moment another was offered. It had to be a regular thing because "...without the shedding of blood there is no remission." (Hebrews 9:22), and because the blood of bulls and goat didn't have an eternal redemption (ref. Hebrews 9:11-15). JESUS however changed all of that, all the sacrifices were "a shadow of things to come" (Colossians 2:17), but JESUS was that real deal. This happened by the coming of the new covenant.

What was wrong with the old covenant? There was a defect with the first and GOD decided to make and ratify a new covenant or we could call it agreement. What did GOD say about the new covenant? "I will imprint My laws upon their minds, even upon their innermost thoughts and understanding, and engrave them upon their hearts; and i will be their God, and they shall be My people." HE also said "For I will be merciful and gracious toward their sins and I will remember their deeds of unrighteousness no more" [ref. Hebrews 8:7-13 Amplified version]. Note the emphasis "NO MORE!!" Christians fail to see this. JESUS made this possible when HE died for past, present and future sins! Hebrews 9:25-28 explains this the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with the blood of the bulls and goats to cover previous sins, "but now, once at the end of the ages" the Amplified puts it thus "but as it is, He has once for all at the consummation and close of the ages appeared to put away and abolish sin by His sacrifice [of Himself] (ref. Heb. 9:26). This however has justified the new covenant of GOD not remembering our unrighteousness anymore because the penalty for our sins has already been placed on JESUS "once at the end of the ages."

The resurrection of JESUS empowered us as GOD gave HIM all authority in heaven, earth and under the earth (Philippians 2:9-11). So as we accept HIM, a new Spirit comes into us and just like a seed we grow into maturity or perfection by becoming JESUS, even though our Spirit and that of JESUS' are the same, but our soul and body has to be developed in line with our Spirit man. But in the process of growing, since the perfection of the soul hasn't been attained we falter. Now when we falter, what do we confess? This is because we can't confess sins that has already been pardoned for. And we can't deny the fact that we faltered. Something has to be done!

Let's use the analogy of a runner at a marathon. The runner has a target in mind which is getting to the end right? Right, so he starts running, but it appears that the route he took has obstacles and it would take a perfectly skilled to overtake these obstacles (obstacles include stones). The runner keeps the end in mind as his goal which helps to propel him forward, but in the process he tripped over a stone and fell. While he was falling his mind  was still on the goal which he shouts in mind, which he must get to at all cost. This helps him quickly rise again. Note this, he didn't focus on what made him fall; the stone, rather he focused on the goal which is to get to the finish line. This is a perfect example of who we are to confess.JESUS is our target, goal, focus etc, this HE made us understand as HE said HE is the Way, the Truth and the Life (John 14:6); also the time JESUS walked on water as HE made Peter know HE was the one Peter was to focus on and not the storm (Matthew 14:22-33) and JESUS saying without HIM we can do nothing (John 15:7), and many more.

This would imply that when we sin or falter we confess our goal which is JESUS!! And how do you do this, you say "I am the righteousness of GOD in CHRIST JESUS", saying this makes you repent. Now, repentance is very important. The etymological meaning of the word "repentance" from the Greek means "change of mind". When you confess who you are that is being the righteousness of GOD in CHRIST JESUS, you fulfill what is Romans 12:2 which is to be transformed by the renewal of the mind, the process of renewal is to repent, to fall back into course.

When it looks as though the obstacles want to overwhelm you, philippians 4:6-8 says you should give all your worries to GOD and HE will give you the peace that passes all understanding. Verse 8 says "whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there be any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy-meditate on these things." Your focus must always be on JESUS, when you fall you pick yourself up quickly and easily because your focus is on JESUS and not the sin. When you focus on the sin you don't grow. You must become like the runner who focused on the goal and not the obstacle.

Remember, it is JESUS and not your sins you confess to GOD. HE has no record of your sins, but HE has records of your righteousness.

How To Get Through This New Year

Happy New Year guys, welcome to year 2016!! We're are now in a new year with lots of expectations. Some people try things like new year resolution, some try other related things. Do these things really work or what exactly are we to do? I'm sorry to bust your bubble guys, new year resolution do not work. It would only work if you become a different person entirely, and that's by dying then rising to become someone who didn't exist before. But if you try to change your nature, it's not possible, it's already in your genes. Some succeed, but it took them hard work and they're rare. But I know how you can have a new year resolution and not go back to your old ways. You most likely know the answer, and when I tell you, you would most likely roll your eyes. But solution true, tested and trusted.

The answer is found in JESUS CHRIST. The bible says in the 2 Corinthians 5:17 (Amplified version) that "therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!" How can you achieve this, the bible again says in Romans 10:9 (Amplified version) "because if you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe (adhere to, trust in, and rely on the truth) that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."

For many of you who have done this already know why it is only through JESUS and what HE did for you but for those who don't know what JESUS did, I will explain what HE did and why it is through HIM alone we can have a perfect new year resolution.

You must have discovered that there is a lot of wrong or evil actions in the world. All these came about as a result of the mistake made by the very first humans to ever exist. As Romans 5:12 says "...through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned..." This is the reason why you do wrong and always want to have a new years resolution but you notice you keep failing every time, because of what your fore fore fathers did years ago. But because GOD loves mankind despite all what we did, HE sent HIS only begotten Son to this earth as a Man to die for us (please don't be surprised about GOD having a Son; this would be explained another time), John 3:16 elaborates what GOD did for us. According to the Amplified version it says "For God so greatly loved dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life."

Why did JESUS have to come down to die? The reason is because "...without the shedding of blood there is no remission" (Hebrews 9:22). JESUS had to shed HIS blood for us to wash off our sins. But as I explained using Romans 10:9 you have to believe in order for you to be translated into a new person.

This is just a summary of what JESUS did for us. The full explanation is the reason why you go to church to know more and more what HE did for us. It has no end! When you receive JESUS into your life as LORD, "...walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in faith..." (Colossians 2:6&7), and "do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you]." This implies that you naturally live a new year resolution type of life without stress. See... what did I tell you? HE said again in John 15:5 that "...for without Me you can do nothing." You can't succeed at anything without JESUS. Just save yourself the stress and accept HIM, rather that trying other strategies that haven't been tested and trusted. If after accepting JESUS and your life doesn't go from normal to excellent, let me know. This is the best way to get through this new year, trust me, I'm always reaping the benefits.

Now back to basis, I mentioned last year that despite our accepting JESUS, having HIS Spirit and HE PERMANENTLY freeing us from our sins we still falter. The question now is if we can't confess our sins before GOD when we falter because GOD keeps no record of wrong, when we falter what are we to confess?
