Jesus Our Righteousness

Why do we still have some believers not finding following Jesus as easy as they breathe? The point to note is that our being as humans is divided into three: the spirit, the soul and the body. The root of the three is the spirit. The spirit determines whose side we’re on. When we were under the first Adam, our spirit was of the devil. So, when we did something good, it wasn’t counted as righteousness because our spirit wasn’t in right standing with God. Now that we are in Christ, even when we falter, it doesn’t make us unrighteous because our spirit is right standing with God.

The only way our spirit becomes unrighteous before God is if we renounce Jesus from our lives, that is, to deny Him completely and not repent before the day Jesus’ return. Now, there is a guy “downstairs” (the devil) who wants every believer to renounce Jesus from their lives. Now when our being was of the devil, our soul submitted to the will of old spirit which in turn controlled the body. The soul is comprised of the mind, will and emotion. We are to understand that only our spirit was transformed when we became born again. It is now up to us feed our soul with the right food by submitting to the Holy Spirit, which then controls our body.

We can achieve having a transformed soul by meditating on the scriptures day and night [ref. Psalm 1]. Praising God and giving thanks to Him and you will see the grace of God come alive in your life. It’s all about His love for us and this is the gospel truth.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!
