Let's Look at your Meditation (Part 2)

Hi everyone,

My focus has been on our meditation, a closer look on what we meditate on. Our focus when we meditate should be only on the resurrected Jesus, knowing Who He is, because we have now become Who He is right now seated in the heavenly realms. Now that we know who He is, how do we stay focused on Him and Him alone?

We need to know that Jesus is God Himself. And everything has been put under His feet, which includes every challenge you have or will ever have, (ref.: 1 Corinthians 15:27). Therefore, what we are to do is to glorify God, thus, giving God praise and worship at all times.

But some may say it is hard to praise God in their condition, but what we must understand is that the Psalmist said in Psalm 34:1 that he will bless the Lord at all times, and His praises shall continually be in his mouth. The Living Bible puts Psalm 34:1 thus, "I will praise the Lord no matter what happens. I will constantly speak of his glories and grace." As I wrote in a previous write-up, we are in a battle, but as we constantly focus on Jesus through praises and worship, we are strengthened because to praise God is to focus on Him alone, which is an act of faith. In other words, we are lifting Jesus above every one of our troubles or challenges. We need to push and be determined to get our minds focused in order not to fall for the wiles of the devil.

In my next write-up, I'll continue from where I stopped, in order for us to know what we must do when we meditate as Sons and Daughters of God.

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!

Let's Look at your Meditation (Part 1)

Hello everyone,

In my last write-up, I made us understand that what is most important in our lives is to build our Spirit Man, but as we do that, we should be alert because the devil attacks us, trying to prevent us from achieving our true identity in Christ, and he does this through distractions. As we know, the world is already full of distractions, and our growth in Christ is going against these tide of distractions. But we need to meditate more on who we are in Christ. This is what we ought to do right? But let's go closer into the meditation itself and identify what we need to focus on regularly in order to stand strong on the Solid Rock [Christ Jesus], against the wiles of the devil.

The first thing we need to ask ourselves is to find out what we are meditating on, because if we get it wrong here, then we've been wasting our time all the while thinking we've been meditating. So, what are we to meditate on?

In answering this question, the question becomes, "who are we meditating on?" We are to meditate on Jesus Christ, and not just any Jesus. Why is this so? This is so because Jesus of Nazareth and the resurrected Jesus are different. How?

Jesus of Nazareth was a sacrifice, while the resurrected Jesus is a life giving Spirit, the last Adam, and a brand new beginning, (ref.: 1 Corinthians 15:45). He is the King of all kings and Lord of all lords. The One Who has all authority in heaven and earth, (ref.: Matthew 28:18; Philippians 2:9). And He is the One we are to meditate on. Why?

The reason why we are to meditate on the resurrected Jesus is because everything that pertains to His life as a whole was given to us completely by Grace. He became our new life, (ref.: Colossians 3:4), (referring to those who have received Jesus as Lord), because our old life died on the cross. Therefore, to meditate on Jesus is know who we are right now.

To know Jesus, is to know your new life. And as you know who He is, we know that we have power over the devil. So, now that we know Jesus is the One we are to focus on, we need to always do something which would strengthen us.

Log on same time tomorrow as I continue on this powerful write-up.

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.
