Why Do You Praise and Worship God?

What is praise?

In simple terms, praise is the admiration of a person. But when it comes to God, it goes deeper than that. When it comes to God, praise is the sincere and deep admiration of God. Worship on the other hand is the feeling of reverence and adoration, which in this case is expressed towards God.

So, why do you praise God? In many cases, we say we praise and worship God, but our reason for doing this usually has a selfish undertone, in the sense that we could get something from God. But that isn't why God wants us to praise Him. We praise God because of who He is and Him alone. We worship Him because He is worthy of all our worship.

Again the truth about the praise and worship of God is because of our existence. What do I mean? We are an expression of His person. Everything we do as Sons and Daughters of God is the fulfilment of His plans and NOT our plans. We are to have no plans created by us because all the plans we have are His plans released to us through the Holy Spirit.

To praise and worship God is because is all about Him, and not us. Our lives and everything about us is about Him.

Praising and worshipping Him is a manifestation of His will for us here on earth and any of our selfish intents, and this is why the devil cannot stand praise and worship to God, because it weakens it. The reason is that it is doing everything to live outside the will of God, and to praise and worship God forces it to submission.

Praise and worship God for who He is, and not for what you want to get, and see God manifest in your life. To have an ulterior motive is to slow down the plans God has for you, as it is an interference with His will for you.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!

What Exactly Is Faith?

Faith is an important factor when living as a Son or Daughter of God. You cannot be a child of God without faith. It is faith that causes our transformation into the life of Christ Jesus. Faith seems to sound more powerful than it appears because it is a belief, but this belief is not of the ordinary, but of the extraordinary. Faith is commonly used, and everyone claims they know everything about faith. But what exactly is faith?

Let's go through the most popular verse used when faith is talked about--Hebrews 11:1. Hebrews 11:1 says, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." What does this verse really mean?

For instance, when I say to myself that it is time to get a new car because I need one and I have enough funds to get one, I know for sure that I will get one because I came to that conclusion based on the need for it and the funds that I have gathered. It was just a matter of going to the car shop to purchase it, that's all. I believed this because I had a thought, all by myself. So, believing it would be easy because I would know if I am telling the truth or not. But this is not exactly the same when it comes to faith.

So, this is faith. Take for instance Jesus has "a thought," about buying a car. Being God, He has bought the car in future. Also, this is His thought, and it is easy for Him to know because He had the thought, all by Himself (take note of this). Jesus tells me that I have a car, the car He bought in the future is mine. At that moment, He hasn't bought it but being God, He is already in the future and has bought it. Faith now is that I believe all that Jesus said as though I was the one who bought it. Therefore, I am to believe Jesus' words as though they were mine. Wow!

Now whatever Jesus said was yours, was also given to Him by God. When Jesus was raised from the grave, all of the Father was given to Jesus (Jesus represented here is Jesus portrayed as the new Adam, not as God because Jesus is God). Jesus also received, by faith.

Doubts may come to your mind because the situation you are in cannot match what the Holy Spirit is telling you. But hey, it's not your life, it's He's, and He decided to give you all He owns. So, when He tells you something you own, congratulations, He has released another of your inheritance into your reality. Just grab it and own it, and don't forget to thank Him.

Faith is to believe all that the Holy Spirit told you as if you were the one who thought it. And this is so because as Sons and Daughters of God, we all have the mind of Christ, (ref.: 1 Corinthians 2:16).

Remember this, there are no excuses when God speaks. If He said, then it is done. He sees all times, and when He gives you a prophecy of faith, take it and own it. When He speaks know that when your calendar matches that time, it MUST manifest. He is God, and TRUTH is His name.

This is Why You're Not Wealthy

Do not worry about what to eat or drink. This is what Jesus said in Matthew 6:25-34. I have read these verses several times and even written about them on several occasions. But the wisdom from the Lord has no end, and He has again revealed to me a deeper version of what He told me before, and this is what my write-up is all about today.

When you look at Matthew 6:31 and 32a, says, "Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' ³²For after all these things the Gentiles seek." To worry about these things are normal, it is a way of life. The Lord pointed out verse 32a to me that this is what the unbelievers seek, in other words, those who are born of God should live like this, it does not depict the lifestyle of a Son or Daughter of God.

Verse 32b says, "For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things." All these I'm sure don't sound new to you right? It doesn't, but what's my point exactly?

Matthew 6:33 says "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." So, what exactly is the kingdom of God? Simply put, the kingdom of God and His righteousness are the things that He created you to do, what you were born to do for Him, which no one else can do. What does this mean?

What God created us to fulfil is actually the kingdom of God and His righteousness. Doing them is actually for the kingdom of our Lord Jesus, and His glory. But sadly, we focus on the other things, in many ways unintentionally, because we don't see the other things.

The other things may include food, clothing, shelter, other financial issues, and more. These are the things Jesus said unbelievers run after, and we are not to run after these things. By running after these things, we won't achieve what God created us for, and from the human point of view, we won't be wealthy.

There is a reason why God created you, and has asked you to do the thing. Just imagine what would happen to the people if you don't do those things. When we see from the eyes of God, we then understand the purpose of our calling, and we receive the zeal to fulfil our calling. Our focus would not be on other things but on our calling. And God not being a man will keep His word by adding the other things because His word says He knows we need the other things.

It is not in our place to run after other things. By running after it, we run away from our calling. But when we pursue His purpose for us, He Himself will provide all that we will ever need in this life. So, seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all other things will be added to you. Remember, He is not a man that should lie. If He has said it, it must be fulfilled.

What Does Matthew 11:28-30 Mean?

Matthew 11:28-30 says, “Are you weary, carrying a heavy burden? Come to me. I will refresh your life, for I am your oasis. ²⁹Simply join your life with mine. Learn my ways and you’ll discover that I’m gentle, humble, easy to please. You will find refreshment and rest in me. ³⁰For all that I require of you will be pleasant and easy to bear.” TPT.  I love the way The Passion Translation puts these verses.

Come unto me all ye that labour and are very laden and I will give you rest. This is a very popular saying from our Lord Jesus. What the Holy Spirit revealed to me is that aside from whatever Jesus was addressing at the moment, whatever He said addresses other things directly and not indirectly as many think. And Matthew 11:28-30 is no exception.

Come unto me all that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. This was an altar call to those who want to give their lives to Jesus. Now, the burden everyone carried came about from the sinful nature we were all born with. But there is more to it. the burden also signifies the entire existence of the person, such as the responsibilities the person carries, like their job, the identity of the person and everything that is attached to and makes up the person, in a way that wouldn't have existed if the person never existed. All these are a heavy burden and make us weary because they had their foundation in sin.

Jesus said He will give anyone who comes to Him rest. What this means is that anyone who comes to Him by giving their life to Him, He will give them a brand new life, and this life is a life of rest.

What it means is that you drop your life and become one with Jesus (ref. 2 Corinthians 5:17). This was what Jesus meant when He said we should take His yoke, which is to learn from Him, because as we know Him we know ourselves, as He Himself has become our life. And we know Him through the meditation of the word.

So, since we have picked up a brand new life, we are no longer meant to direct our lives, but of He who is now our life to lead and direct us through the Holy Spirit.

The very first thing we are to do when we receive the Spirit of the Lord Jesus or become born again is to ask Him what He wants us to do. It is only then that we find our true purpose of existence. He tells us what to do, which includes our job, and everything that has to do with our existence.

All we were ends including our jobs, schooling and every other thing. That doesn't mean we just go ahead and quit. We are to allow Him to lead us to where we are to go, and if He asks us to quit our job, then go ahead, but if He asks us to continue, then we continue. Whatever decision He asks us to take, it can never lead to being idle. And whatever we are meant to do works for our good.

As a friend of mine told me, we are to trust the Lord blindly. What this means is we are to trust the Lord to the very end, by believing that whatever He tells us is for our good because knows us more than we know ourselves, and He knows the end from the beginning.

It's a Faith Issue

There are so many reasons we run to God for help. From financial issues to marital issues to fruit of the womb issue to health issues to mental health issues and many more.

I have had my share of this issue. However, in my meditation on the word of God, being so bothered one day. I asked the Lord why despite being a Son of God I still have a reason to run to Him for help. I have the understanding of His word and the power and authority behind His word when used, but sometimes, even when confessions are made, it appears nothing seems to happen. It was then Lord answered me and said the only issue any Son or Daughter of God can face is a faith issue.

I am sure this won't seem like a surprise to many, as this isn't new knowledge. But the sad aspect is that we have heard about this but we haven't truly meditated on it, this is why we keep running to Him when He has told us what to do and when He has taken care of every issue we would ever face in this life.

The popular Hebrews 11:1 says, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." The Passion Translation puts it thus, "Now faith brings our hopes into reality and becomes the foundation needed to acquire the things we long for. It is all the evidence required to prove what is still unseen." TPT.

We were slaves, not of His own when we didn't have His Spirit. But now, when we have received His Spirit, we are Sons and Daughters of God and are now at peace with Him, (ref.: Romans 5:1; 8:14,18).

Being a Son or Daughter of God means that we have a stand with all of Who God is, and not of us but all of Him. This is why He has expressed Himself as Grace in the person of Jesus whom we have received His Spirit as our new Spirit making us one with God.

Now, as we live here on earth is as God living here on earth because we live Him. What we are to do is to have a stand on His word, whether it appears logical or not, but for the fact that He is God Almighty who has the best plan and purpose for each one of us.

As we live our lives by standing on what He said (His word). The Holy Spirit guides us into the perfect will of God for our lives.

So, He tells us that we can never be sick, or be barren, and we are prosperous. The point here is that we are not any of these things. We only received them by Grace, by who He is.

What this means is that we are healthy because He is healthy, we are fruitful because He is fruitful, and we are prosperous because He is prosperous. And to believe that He is all He says He is, and believe that He has given us all these because His Spirit must express who He is, Who is in us, this is faith!

We now run to Him for help when we are ignorant of who He is or do not believe we are an expression of Him. This is a faith issue, nothing else.

All that He is, is one with Spirit. And it is His Spirit we have received, therefore all we are meant to do is express Him here on earth. So, the more we know Him, the more we express Him here on earth. It is nothing about us, but all about Him.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t? Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!

Smooth Flowing Grace

Grace is an unmerited, unearned favour. And it is given to us by God. We all lost every reason to be favoured. But the love of God which surpasses all understanding was expressed to us by God through Jesus. Jesus represents Grace as He Himself is Grace personified.

Romans 5:8 says, "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

Romans 5:17 also says, "For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.)"

Abundant Grace has been given to everyone on earth. It is like a smooth flowing river open to everyone. It is left to us to slide into the river, allowing the Grace to carry us along.

The Grace of God contains the fulness of Christ Jesus who is the embodiment of all of God's blessings, favour, mercies, salvation, wisdom, discernment and more, all given to us even when we don't deserve it. It is left to us to choose if we want to flow with His Grace or struggle with sweat and toiling.

How To Have a Stressed Free Life

I really don't like stress in any way. There are times we go through stress even when we do our best to avoid it. But many times, stress in the real sense comes from our mindset. What do I mean?

When you know without a doubt in any form that the outcome of whatever you're doing would end up in victory, your mind feels relaxed. This is different from the person who assumes he would end up in victory. No matter how much theory he creates, there is still the stress factor involved. How is this any different?

Jeremiah 17:7 says, “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord."

The verse says the man who trusts in the Lord, and has his hope in the Lord is blessed. Why is this so? God has plans and to think of God carrying out His plans always imply victory. We cannot imagine God not having victory when He carries out His plan. It is so serious that the mere thought of failure in any form even when you know He is forever victorious, we consider it an insult to God. This is because God is Him and Him alone. Perfection is an understatement to His person, and expressing His excellence cannot be fathom with human understanding. So, where am I heading here?

Whatever God intends to carry out here on earth, He goes through man. The man who chooses to trust and hope in God is actually expressing God by carrying out His plan, because to trust and hope in God is to be led by His Holy Spirit.

The funny thing about this is that anyone who chooses to trust and hope in God is actually seeing the desires of his heart coming to pass.

Psalms 37:4 says, "Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart."

Why is it when we delight ourselves in the Lord that we see the desires of our heart come to pass? The reason is that God designed us that our existence is actually to fulfill His plan, which is why when we delight ourselves in God we then see that what we desire the most is actually found by trusting and hoping in God in delight. And when you know who God is, you are always sure of absolute victory.

This is why the man who meditates on the word of God day and night always experience prosperity in everything he does just because he is walking on a flawless path (ref.: Psalms 1:1-3)

So, the only reasonable thing to do is just to trust and hope in God, and allow Him to lead you because again He knows the plan better than you do, and He knows the end from the beginning. He is a stress free life I assure you.
