Let's Look at your Meditation (Part 1)

Hello everyone,

In my last write-up, I made us understand that what is most important in our lives is to build our Spirit Man, but as we do that, we should be alert because the devil attacks us, trying to prevent us from achieving our true identity in Christ, and he does this through distractions. As we know, the world is already full of distractions, and our growth in Christ is going against these tide of distractions. But we need to meditate more on who we are in Christ. This is what we ought to do right? But let's go closer into the meditation itself and identify what we need to focus on regularly in order to stand strong on the Solid Rock [Christ Jesus], against the wiles of the devil.

The first thing we need to ask ourselves is to find out what we are meditating on, because if we get it wrong here, then we've been wasting our time all the while thinking we've been meditating. So, what are we to meditate on?

In answering this question, the question becomes, "who are we meditating on?" We are to meditate on Jesus Christ, and not just any Jesus. Why is this so? This is so because Jesus of Nazareth and the resurrected Jesus are different. How?

Jesus of Nazareth was a sacrifice, while the resurrected Jesus is a life giving Spirit, the last Adam, and a brand new beginning, (ref.: 1 Corinthians 15:45). He is the King of all kings and Lord of all lords. The One Who has all authority in heaven and earth, (ref.: Matthew 28:18; Philippians 2:9). And He is the One we are to meditate on. Why?

The reason why we are to meditate on the resurrected Jesus is because everything that pertains to His life as a whole was given to us completely by Grace. He became our new life, (ref.: Colossians 3:4), (referring to those who have received Jesus as Lord), because our old life died on the cross. Therefore, to meditate on Jesus is know who we are right now.

To know Jesus, is to know your new life. And as you know who He is, we know that we have power over the devil. So, now that we know Jesus is the One we are to focus on, we need to always do something which would strengthen us.

Build and Fight!

Hello everyone,

Do you know you are in battle? But this battle isn't like the regular battle that you know, because this battle has been won. But why is there still a battle to be concerned about? Let's find out why.

The main battle which many still think we are fighting, was won over 2,000 years ago by Jesus, after defeating Satan completely. In Christ Jesus we are redeemed because of the victory Jesus has given us. This is why we stand on the Solid Rock, who is Jesus, because in Him we have all things. But why is there a battle?

There is a battle because all those who are in Christ were taken from the kingdom darkness (Satan) to the kingdom of Christ Jesus, (ref.: Colossians 1:13). In other words, taken away from the kingdom of the first Adam to the kingdom of the last Adam [Jesus Christ]. And because we have been translated Spiritually, we need to train our minds of who we are now in Christ Jesus, thus, understanding our new life. And the more we understand our new life, the more we manifest Christ, who is our new life. Now, this is where the battle lies.

The devil, who has been defeated know that the moment we get to know who we are in Christ Jesus, he is done for, and would have no power over us through deceit, this is why he attacks us with lies and fear, and anything that would make us get distracted in building our Spirit Man. And lies and deceit are the only things he can do, because Jesus took all his powers from him, which wasn't his in the first place. So, how is this a battle to us?

Jesus said John 8:31-32, "If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. ³²And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." It is with the understanding of the word of God, telling you who you are that you would then be able to identify the lies of the devil when he attacks, because his lies would contradict the truth. But Jesus said, it is the truth that would set us free. What did He mean?

When Jesus was tempted by the devil, it was the truth that Jesus used that set Him free, which is the word of God. We are to be like the children of Israel when they were rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem, everyone building had a sword by their side and were on the alert for any enemy who wanted to stop them. As we are building our Spirit Man, we are to be on the alert of the devil, and use our sword which is the word of God and the truth of who we are in Christ Jesus. This is the battle we face as Sons and Daughters of God. We are not fighting for victory, rather, we are fighting from victory. We are already standing firm on the Solid Rock [Christ Jesus], thus the battle is for us not to be distracted by the lies of the devil and fall off the truth we stand on.

The devil knows he has been defeated, but he doesn't want us to know that, he also doesn't want us to know the authority we have in Christ Jesus. The devil is a DEFEATED FOE, and we must remember that. Everything he attacks us with is a lie, and we will only know this by building our Spirit Man that prevents us from listening, not to talk of believing the lies of the devil, which most of all bring out the fullness of Christ. We are to build and fight!

Behind The Term "I am"

Happy Sunday everyone,

Yesterday, I explained how God gave children of God limitless powers beyond our imagination. You should also understand that having this ability implies you reasoning as God does because it is God Himself who takes over your Spirit who enters your mind when you allow Him. This is very important because as we use the limitless power it then helps us in our normal imagination. Our imagination then becomes a great boost to faith which affects our confessions.

Our confessions are words that should not be taken for granted. Every word we speak has a commanding force. As we know, every object is at a state of rest, for a thing to move from one place to another, there need to be a force moving the object in focus to another state of rest. And as Sons and Daughters in Christ, being filled in our spirit man (ref.: 1 Corinthians 2:16), we are expected to act like God and as we know, every word that comes out of God does not go and come back void, but accomplishes all that pleases Him (ref.: Isaiah 55:11). Why am I saying this? We are to pay attention to the words we use and the power and meaning of what we say.

My focus is on the use of the term “I am”. When we say something like “I am successful”, “I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus” and many other similar expressions, what we are saying is emphasising who God is as a person and who He is in our being. God told Moses He is “I am who I am”. He is known as the “I am”. The Jews got annoyed at Jesus when He said, “Before Abraham was, I am” (ref.: John 8:58)Even though it was used in a sentence, the Jews recognised the presence of the term “I am”.

“I am successful” implies “God is successful”, and understanding the grace God has given us makes us understand that God is our success and it makes those words come alive in our lives more than ever before. So, knowing who God is, makes our confessions come alive as we know that our Christ-like confessions express who God really is, and believing in this strengthens our trust in Christ and makes our confessions real in our lives! It’s so real because of His love for us and this is the gospel truth.

When Your Imagination Becomes Your Limitation

Happy Weekend everyone,

In actualising any form of creativity, there is always a mind work, which we call imagination. An architect for example, is expected to have an image of what he intends to design, without this the architect becomes stuck and nothing new is created. So, we know the importance of imagination. But have you ever considered your imagination becoming your limitation?

Let’s take a look at God; it is very easy to imagine a person who cannot die and lives forever, but it is so impossible to imagine someone who has no beginning! You think about it, your mind cannot comprehend it. This is how God is, He has no beginning and what He gives cannot be comprehended. The grace God has given us has neither beginning nor end. It is made clear in Ephesians 3:20 which says, “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us” Ephesians 3:20 NIV.

God made us understand that there is a level we need to be operating from, and we don't our imagination would become a limitation. The fact that you can imagine a thing still indicates that what is imagined is limited by how far your imagination can go. No matter who you are, there is a limit to how much you can imagine. So why don’t you tap into the powers of being limitless, that which your mind will never comprehend? This power comes from God and can only be achieved through us; this power is Jesus in our lives and this is what we get. God uses us as a medium in expressing His might and unlimited power.

It is allowing Christ free access in our lives that we see His unlimited power and authority at work. We have the fullness of Christ in us, but if we don't allow Him to function in our lives we would be limiting Him.

Our imagination limits us if we don't much about Christ. The more we know about Christ, the more limitless we become and we see Christ fullness become more manifested in and around us.

So, being a child of God means free access to the unlimited powers of God, in your homes, schools, work, businesses, health and so much more. And of course, the Holy Spirit is our guide on how to use this great power. This is made available to us because of God’s love for us and this is the gospel truth.

Are You Living or Existing?


Hello everyone,

Hmmmmn… you’re born, you go through primary, secondary school and then you go to the university. You get a good job, later acquire wealth probably through investment; you get married, have children, grow old, retire, have grandchildren probably have great-grandchildren and then go and see the Lord. This looks like a great life right? But is this what you were born for; to just repeat a routine of life and die? Nothing has been added!

Looking at the routine life, even if you choose to go to church and read the Bible regularly but end up following the same sequence of life you just existed, that’s all. Now, don’t get me wrong, going to school is wonderful; of course, if you didn’t school, you probably won’t know how to read, not to talk of writing. These, however, are the basic things to be learnt. My point here is for you to know the reason for your existence here on earth. There is a reason for your existence and it defers from another. It is not a routine created by man.

Jesus said in Matthew 5:13 “Let me tell you why you are here. You’re here to be salt-seasoning that brings out the God-flavors of this earth. If you lose your saltiness, how will people taste godliness? You’ve lost your usefulness and will end up in the garbage.” (Message). Ok, so our attitude is expected to reflect godliness, but let’s further look at the verses ahead, “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a peck measure, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house. Let your light so shine before men that they may see your moral excellence and your praiseworthy, noble, and good deeds and recognize and honour and praise and glorify your Father Who is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:14-16 AMP).

Our being salt and light is to reflect Jesus. As Jesus said He is the light of the world and those who follow Him shall have the light of life, (ref.: John 8:12), this light is the same light as that of Matthew 5, we are to reflect Him. This implies when we accept Jesus as Lord and receiving the Holy Spirit after this, the mystery about our life is then revealed as we remain in Him (ref.: Colossians 1:27). We are to live the will of God for our lives and it can only be gotten in Jesus Christ.

So, how can we do this? The Bible makes us understand that Christ is our life (ref.: Colossians 3:4). Therefore, our life itself should be Jesus personified every second of our life; that is being led by the Spirit at school, work or anywhere. People should notice the difference in the way you do things, and how successful you are, always portraying the fruit of the Spirit and would cause them to ask what you do differently from others. This is when you tell them how Jesus gave you a new life and He is your direction. This would cause them to praise God in heaven for such Grace He has given to men, and want to make Jesus Lord of their lives.

Your life should not be a rigid, religious way of doing things, like living your life and living Jesus’ life. You can’t mix the two; Christ is your life, you are breathing Him! All these are because of His love for us and this is the gospel truth.

A Closer Look at the Two Trees (Part 2)


Hi everyone,

In my last write-up, I identified what the two trees in the Garden of Eden represented. The tree of life represents Jesus Christ, as He is the Life, while the tree of the knowledge of good and evil represents the Law because it is only through the Law that you know what is good and evil, and the scriptures call it the ministry of death, (ref.: 2 Corinthians 3:7). But in many ways, we would justify having the knowledge of good and evil, because what could be wrong in knowing what is good or evil? After all, that is the way the world lives. But it is wrong to have the knowledge of good and evil, not making reference to the tree, [although, they all came from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil].

Many people have unknowingly tagged the tree of the knowledge of good and evil as the tree of the knowledge of evil. But no, it is the knowledge of good and evil, what could be wrong? We should understand that if Adam had eaten of the tree of life, he wouldn’t have had the knowledge of good and evil, so how would he have lived?

Jesus told His disciples in John 14:16 that when He goes back to His Father, He would send the Helper/ the Holy Spirit. And in John 14:26 Jesus also told them that the Holy Spirit Who is in the name of Jesus would teach us all things and bring all things to our remembrance. Why is this important?

This is important because Adam was just a living soul, but the last Adam [Jesus Christ] became a life-giving spirit (ref.: 1 Corinthians 15:45), which Adam would have become if he ate of the tree of life, but as he ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, he separated himself from life and had no direction.

The knowledge of good and evil is that which condemns and kills, and you’re not being led by the Holy Spirit, therefore, you don’t live your life within the plans and purposes of God for your life.

It still sounds strange to many, but the truth is that we are to be guided and led by the Holy Spirit in all that we do, and when I mean all, I mean all. Jesus said all that He does isn’t of His own accord, but that which He sees His Father do, that is what He does, (ref.: John 5:19; 14:10). And this is how we are to live! But we can live this way and experience a perfect life, thus, falling within the exact plan and purposes of God for your life, and it is by believing and accepting Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour.

Why is receiving Jesus as Lord very important? It is important because He is a new beginning different from where we came from—Adam. We kept on living a life of error because we are within a generation whose root started from the knowledge of good and evil. But, under the last Adam—Jesus, we have a brand new Spirit that is the same as Jesus/God, and every form of perfection is contained with Him [our new Spirit]. All we have to do is to know Who Jesus is more and more, believe in His finished works, and allow the Holy Spirit guide you as you see the finished works get manifested in your lives, a life of perfection, that which God Almighty has ordained for you. It is not a life where you choose using the knowledge of good and evil, but a brand new life where Life Himself guides your life even to the smallest things that we call irrelevant. This is the gospel truth.

A Closer Look at the Two Trees

Happy Weekend everyone,

There is a popular story at the beginning of the Bible, which of course is a true life story. This story is based on the first humans or we could say the first couple. The couple as we know is Adam and Eve. When created, God drew Adam’s attention to two trees (the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil). God told Adam “…of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” (Genesis 2:16-17).

Many of us just read that part without really knowing that the trees actually symbolises something. These trees are not ordinary, in Genesis 3:6-7 it says “So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings.” What was in the tree that changed the life of Adam and Eve? Let’s find out.

As I said earlier, those trees are not ordinary, they both symbolise something. When Jesus spoke in John 14:6, He didn’t say “I am a way, a truth, and a life. I am a medium to which you can come to the Father”. But naaah... what Jesus actually said is, “...I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” Note the emphasis on the term “The” and the word “no one”. It is clear to say that Jesus is the ONLY LIFE! Therefore, the tree of Life in the Garden of Eden was actually Jesus Christ Himself as a tree. Hmmmn... so what about the other tree?

Now, the only thing in the Bible that has a perfect resemblance to the tree of the knowledge of good and evil... it is the LAW! Only the law tells you what is good and evil. Let’s take a look at Romans 7:8 “But sin, taking opportunity by the commandment, produced in me all manner of evil desire. For apart from the law sin was dead”. Thus, apart from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, sin was dead in man. Also look at Romans 7:7, “What shall we say then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! On the contrary, I would not have known sin except through the law. For I would not have known covetousness unless the law had said “You shall not covet”.”

Again, let’s look at 1st Corinthians 15:58, “The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law”. It is so evident to say the tree of the knowledge of good and evil represents the law. Note, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil wasn’t a bad tree. It was not called the tree of the knowledge of evil, but the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. But there is nothing wrong in knowing what is good and evil. That’s how Man lives in today’s world. But I tell you everything is wrong! The question now is to know why it is wrong to know what is good and what is evil.
