Life is All About "Yes" and "No"

There is a saying which says, "Life is a Journey". This is true because, from the time a person is born till the time, the person leaves this earth, all that the person embarked upon throughout his or her stay here on earth was a journey. But while the person was here on earth, the person made choices, which is the same with you and me. We all have to make choices which is almost impossible to say no to because to say you won't make a choice is making a choice, funny, isn't it?

My point here is that in life as we make use of the yeses and no's, what we are actually doing is creating or destroying. Just as the scripture says in Proverbs 18:21, "Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit." Our words create or destroy, likewise our choices that are our yes and no can build or bring down. It decides the outcome of our lives.

Have you noticed in the sales and marketing world that all they want to hear is yes to their products? Every company wants people to say yes to them. It is a yes from the head of a company or whoever is in charge of an employee that leads to promotion. And a no that delays a promotion. In the same vein, it is a yes that allows us to receive the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and a no that prevents the devil from coming into our lives.

The focus isn't really on what is promoted, but the yes or no, and we as Sons and Daughters of God must be careful as we live our lives so that we don't say yes to the wrong thing or vice versa. This is why we are to study and meditate on the word of God and follow the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!

This Is What Grace Looks Like

Why do you work, and what drives you? In many cases, the answers would be that people work for money, and things like bills, love, and respect could be some of the things that cause the driving force.

But where does Grace come in all of these? Since Grace is an unmerited favour, does that mean we are not to work and then see things manifest by themselves? No, that's not what I mean.

When you look closely, money isn't a need. It is just a means to an end, but not the end itself, because the end is the need, and that is where Grace comes in.

The sole purpose of many people working today is to acquire the means to their needs. And sadly they think acquiring a lot of this (money) is their sole purpose here on earth.

Of course, they won't accept that, but they don't know that's what they are doing. And the more they do this, the more they don't live the life God created them to achieve.

Matthew 6:31-32, “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’  These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs." NLT.

Unbelievers work for money and in many cases end up not fulfilling why they were born. But Sons and Daughters of God are not to work for money. OK, let me make it clearer. Sons and Daughters of God are not to work because they want to get paid because their place of work is not their source of income.

Many would say, they know God is their source of income, but act as though their place of work is their source of income.

Money is not our need, the essential things we use the money to get are our needs. And since our place of work which symbolises money, isn't our source of income, then what or who is our source of income?

The answer is simple, God. But if God is our source, won't things end up the same way, as we would keep asking what shall we eat, drink or wear? No, it won't become that, and the reason is that all that we would ever need in our lives has been provided by God through Jesus.

Jesus is the wealth of God, and God gave Himself [who is Jesus] to us. And when we received Him as our new life He now dwells in us through the Holy Spirit, God's gift to us, (ref.: Matthew 7:11, Luke 11:13).

Now, because God is our source, we are able to live the lives He created us to live. And this is possible because He has provided all that we would ever need. Since we have the Holy Spirit in us [who is God Himself], He leads us into what we are to do, and as we follow His leading, we find out that our needs are being met. This is where Grace comes to play.

The way our needs are being met isn't through our worry or hard work but through our belief that since God is our source He has taken care of us ahead of time. All we are to do is to live the life of calling. Unlike unbelievers who need to gather enough money to then live the life they are called to live, that is if they ever get to that point, because they have to ensure that there is always enough money to meet their needs.

So, this is what Grace looks like, as we are led by the Holy Spirit, we see our needs met, which is different from the typical way the world runs. And this is where seeking the kingdom of God comes first, which should be our focus, not our needs. Why? This is because God's got that covered. Our needs aren't our business, but God's. Our business is the purpose for which we were created, which we find out through the meditation of the word of God and the leading of the Holy Spirit.

This Is What King Solomon Did

King Solomon is known as the wisest and wealthiest man that ever lived. Many believe it was due to his request from God for wisdom to rule his people that made him wise and wealthy. But that wasn't all of it, and I'm also not referring to the huge sacrifice he offered to God either, (ref.: 1 Kings 3:3-15). So, what exactly did King Solomon do?

Many years before King Solomon was born, Samuel the Judge and Prophet of Israel told the then King Saul that to obey is better than sacrifice, (ref.: 1 Samuel 15:22). This verse made a lot of sense when I looked at King Solomon's life, and I tell you why.

Jesus said in Matthew 20:25-28, "You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them. ²⁶Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. ²⁷And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave—²⁸just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many."

For a person to be great or be a leader, he or she must first become a servant. In other words, as a Son or Daughter of God, to become a great leader, you must rather sit a the feet of Jesus. And this was what King Solomon did. For King Solomon to become the wisest man in the whole world, he had to sit at the feet of God, where he received wisdom from whom he spoke. His level of wisdom was so high because it wasn't of the ordinary, but of God.

By sitting at the feet of God, King Solomon could lead the children of Israel in the way of the Lord. King Solomon was able to know this because his father King David had brought him up in the way of the Lord, and the ways of King David pleased the Lord because he sat at the feet of God, who led him to victory every time.

The words of King Solomon were full of wisdom that had so much value that brought him so much wealth, as his words were highly placed.

King Solomon obeyed the leading of the Lord, which pleased the Lord more than the huge sacrifice he offered. For obedience is better than sacrifice, and this can only be achieved by sitting at the feet of our Lord Jesus.

Why Do You Praise and Worship God?

What is praise?

In simple terms, praise is the admiration of a person. But when it comes to God, it goes deeper than that. When it comes to God, praise is the sincere and deep admiration of God. Worship on the other hand is the feeling of reverence and adoration, which in this case is expressed towards God.

So, why do you praise God? In many cases, we say we praise and worship God, but our reason for doing this usually has a selfish undertone, in the sense that we could get something from God. But that isn't why God wants us to praise Him. We praise God because of who He is and Him alone. We worship Him because He is worthy of all our worship.

Again the truth about the praise and worship of God is because of our existence. What do I mean? We are an expression of His person. Everything we do as Sons and Daughters of God is the fulfilment of His plans and NOT our plans. We are to have no plans created by us because all the plans we have are His plans released to us through the Holy Spirit.

To praise and worship God is because is all about Him, and not us. Our lives and everything about us is about Him.

Praising and worshipping Him is a manifestation of His will for us here on earth and any of our selfish intents, and this is why the devil cannot stand praise and worship to God, because it weakens it. The reason is that it is doing everything to live outside the will of God, and to praise and worship God forces it to submission.

Praise and worship God for who He is, and not for what you want to get, and see God manifest in your life. To have an ulterior motive is to slow down the plans God has for you, as it is an interference with His will for you.

What Exactly Is Faith?

Faith is an important factor when living as a Son or Daughter of God. You cannot be a child of God without faith. It is faith that causes our transformation into the life of Christ Jesus. Faith seems to sound more powerful than it appears because it is a belief, but this belief is not of the ordinary, but of the extraordinary. Faith is commonly used, and everyone claims they know everything about faith. But what exactly is faith?

Let's go through the most popular verse used when faith is talked about--Hebrews 11:1. Hebrews 11:1 says, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." What does this verse really mean?

For instance, when I say to myself that it is time to get a new car because I need one and I have enough funds to get one, I know for sure that I will get one because I came to that conclusion based on the need for it and the funds that I have gathered. It was just a matter of going to the car shop to purchase it, that's all. I believed this because I had a thought, all by myself. So, believing it would be easy because I would know if I am telling the truth or not. But this is not exactly the same when it comes to faith.

So, this is faith. Take for instance Jesus has "a thought," about buying a car. Being God, He has bought the car in future. Also, this is His thought, and it is easy for Him to know because He had the thought, all by Himself (take note of this). Jesus tells me that I have a car, the car He bought in the future is mine. At that moment, He hasn't bought it but being God, He is already in the future and has bought it. Faith now is that I believe all that Jesus said as though I was the one who bought it. Therefore, I am to believe Jesus' words as though they were mine. Wow!

Now whatever Jesus said was yours, was also given to Him by God. When Jesus was raised from the grave, all of the Father was given to Jesus (Jesus represented here is Jesus portrayed as the new Adam, not as God because Jesus is God). Jesus also received, by faith.

Doubts may come to your mind because the situation you are in cannot match what the Holy Spirit is telling you. But hey, it's not your life, it's He's, and He decided to give you all He owns. So, when He tells you something you own, congratulations, He has released another of your inheritance into your reality. Just grab it and own it, and don't forget to thank Him.

Faith is to believe all that the Holy Spirit told you as if you were the one who thought it. And this is so because as Sons and Daughters of God, we all have the mind of Christ, (ref.: 1 Corinthians 2:16).

Remember this, there are no excuses when God speaks. If He said, then it is done. He sees all times, and when He gives you a prophecy of faith, take it and own it. When He speaks know that when your calendar matches that time, it MUST manifest. He is God, and TRUTH is His name.

This is Why You're Not Wealthy

Do not worry about what to eat or drink. This is what Jesus said in Matthew 6:25-34. I have read these verses several times and even written about them on several occasions. But the wisdom from the Lord has no end, and He has again revealed to me a deeper version of what He told me before, and this is what my write-up is all about today.

When you look at Matthew 6:31 and 32a, says, "Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' ³²For after all these things the Gentiles seek." To worry about these things are normal, it is a way of life. The Lord pointed out verse 32a to me that this is what the unbelievers seek, in other words, those who are born of God should live like this, it does not depict the lifestyle of a Son or Daughter of God.

Verse 32b says, "For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things." All these I'm sure don't sound new to you right? It doesn't, but what's my point exactly?

Matthew 6:33 says "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." So, what exactly is the kingdom of God? Simply put, the kingdom of God and His righteousness are the things that He created you to do, what you were born to do for Him, which no one else can do. What does this mean?

What God created us to fulfil is actually the kingdom of God and His righteousness. Doing them is actually for the kingdom of our Lord Jesus, and His glory. But sadly, we focus on the other things, in many ways unintentionally, because we don't see the other things.

The other things may include food, clothing, shelter, other financial issues, and more. These are the things Jesus said unbelievers run after, and we are not to run after these things. By running after these things, we won't achieve what God created us for, and from the human point of view, we won't be wealthy.

There is a reason why God created you, and has asked you to do the thing. Just imagine what would happen to the people if you don't do those things. When we see from the eyes of God, we then understand the purpose of our calling, and we receive the zeal to fulfil our calling. Our focus would not be on other things but on our calling. And God not being a man will keep His word by adding the other things because His word says He knows we need the other things.

It is not in our place to run after other things. By running after it, we run away from our calling. But when we pursue His purpose for us, He Himself will provide all that we will ever need in this life. So, seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all other things will be added to you. Remember, He is not a man that should lie. If He has said it, it must be fulfilled.

What Does Matthew 11:28-30 Mean?

Matthew 11:28-30 says, “Are you weary, carrying a heavy burden? Come to me. I will refresh your life, for I am your oasis. ²⁹Simply join your life with mine. Learn my ways and you’ll discover that I’m gentle, humble, easy to please. You will find refreshment and rest in me. ³⁰For all that I require of you will be pleasant and easy to bear.” TPT.  I love the way The Passion Translation puts these verses.

Come unto me all ye that labour and are very laden and I will give you rest. This is a very popular saying from our Lord Jesus. What the Holy Spirit revealed to me is that aside from whatever Jesus was addressing at the moment, whatever He said addresses other things directly and not indirectly as many think. And Matthew 11:28-30 is no exception.

Come unto me all that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. This was an altar call to those who want to give their lives to Jesus. Now, the burden everyone carried came about from the sinful nature we were all born with. But there is more to it. the burden also signifies the entire existence of the person, such as the responsibilities the person carries, like their job, the identity of the person and everything that is attached to and makes up the person, in a way that wouldn't have existed if the person never existed. All these are a heavy burden and make us weary because they had their foundation in sin.

Jesus said He will give anyone who comes to Him rest. What this means is that anyone who comes to Him by giving their life to Him, He will give them a brand new life, and this life is a life of rest.

What it means is that you drop your life and become one with Jesus (ref. 2 Corinthians 5:17). This was what Jesus meant when He said we should take His yoke, which is to learn from Him, because as we know Him we know ourselves, as He Himself has become our life. And we know Him through the meditation of the word.

So, since we have picked up a brand new life, we are no longer meant to direct our lives, but of He who is now our life to lead and direct us through the Holy Spirit.

The very first thing we are to do when we receive the Spirit of the Lord Jesus or become born again is to ask Him what He wants us to do. It is only then that we find our true purpose of existence. He tells us what to do, which includes our job, and everything that has to do with our existence.

All we were ends including our jobs, schooling and every other thing. That doesn't mean we just go ahead and quit. We are to allow Him to lead us to where we are to go, and if He asks us to quit our job, then go ahead, but if He asks us to continue, then we continue. Whatever decision He asks us to take, it can never lead to being idle. And whatever we are meant to do works for our good.

As a friend of mine told me, we are to trust the Lord blindly. What this means is we are to trust the Lord to the very end, by believing that whatever He tells us is for our good because knows us more than we know ourselves, and He knows the end from the beginning.
