The Characteristics of Jesus

There is a saying that if you constantly stay around five billionaires, you will become the sixth billionaire. The reason why this is so is because you are constantly exposed to the mindset of the billionaires. You see how they reason and take decisions. This affects you quickly especially when you see that their goals in many ways are achieved. You start seeing changes in the way you reason and take decisions, just like the billionaires, because you're always around them.

This is also true when you stay around healthy people, wealthy people, people filled with so much wisdom and knowledge, and so on. What's my reason for all these?

It is quite sad that many Sons and Daughters of God have underestimated what or better still, Who they carry on the inside. No one forced anyone to make Jesus their Lord and Saviour and new life, it was a decision made through personal conviction of the truth (ref.: Romans 10:9). Through revelation by the Holy Spirit we come to understand the power of His (Jesus') might and authority. And it is these revelations we get as we meditate on the word of God that we are to hold on to.

Going back to the billionaire point I started with this earlier. Jesus is all we have ever needed and more, beyond our wildest dreams. He is the full package. What do I mean?

Other "names" of Jesus are Health, Wealth, Wisdom, Knowledge, Understanding, Life, the Way, Truth, the Word and more (ref.: John 14:6; 1 Corinthians 1:24; Colossians 2:3). All these names are Jesus personified, they are who Jesus is. So, when you spend time with Jesus, health rubs on you? Nope. Surprised?

The moment you received Jesus as your new life, and were baptised with the Holy Spirit, Jesus became your new life and resides on the inside of you. So, when you spend time with Jesus, health doesn't rub on you, what happens is that you release the power that is already inside of you, in other words, you release the power of Jesus in you to the soul that shows on your body.

You see, Jesus being Life bursts out into your soul and then health comes about. The same for wisdom, wealth and others.

What happened all the while that we couldn't release what was on the inside of us?

Peace Like No Other

We wake, we bath, we dress, we eat, we go out, we meet people, we come in, we sleep, and every other thing we do. All what we do is by choice, every decision we take is by choice, even when brought under duress, the decisions taken are by choice. We choose to take decisions. But what is my point exactly?

Before we take decisions, we ponder over them, even if it is within a split second. What allows us to take the decision, some would say, logic or common sense. But what really moves us is peace of mind.

Yes, we take decisions some times when we don't have peace of mind, but are restless on the inside. This goes to show that peace on the inside is very important in decision making.

Philippians 4:7 says, "And God's peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus." AMPC.

The peace of God is the height of tranquility in your soul, beyond your wildest imagination, and it only God who gives it.

The peace of God comes when you're being led by the Holy Spirit to do things. It is one of the things that makes you sure it is from God. Thing around you may be upside-down, but there is this very deep peace on the inside that can't be explained that you feel on the inside.

Whoever receives Jesus as His Lord and Saviour, has received this peace as part of the package, and can never leave you.

Yes, you may feel so agitated a times, the agitation is from outside not from inside. The peace of God is on the inside of you, it is left to you to focus on the peace on the inside, not the agitation on the outside.

God loves us so much that He knows the importance of peace and put His own peace in our new Spirit. Let is focus on Him—Jesus, and we will experience His peace like no other as we live our lives.

Do You Have a Stand or Not?

Any time I go through Daniel chapter 3, I ask myself if I have a stand or not.

Daniel chapter 3 is the story of Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah, popularly known as Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego, the story of the golden statue King Nebuchadnezzar commanded everyone to bow down and worship. Yeah, I'm sure you'd say you won't bow to the statue right? But this was the most powerful King on earth then who gave the command. It wasn't democracy. And oh, lest I forget anyone who didn't bow to the golden statue would be thrown into a fiery furnace. So, be honest with yourself, would you have still bow down?

Now, let me get into what touched me the most in the story of the three Hebrew boys. These boys, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah refused to bow to the golden statue when everyone did, because they stood with God Almighty and no one else.

King Nebuchadnezzar asked the guards to throw them into the fiery furnace. Now, this was the touching part. Before they were thrown in, they said no matter what, even if God doesn't deliver them, they won't still bow down and worship the golden image. That was a serious stand on Who they believe in. And you know the rest of the story. God delivered them from the furnace.

Do you have a stand on Christ Jesus, that no matter what happens you won't deny Him? It takes a strong conviction to that risk. But really, life itself is a risk. So, what risk do you want to take? A risk of assurance by the Holy Spirit who knows all things, or a probability by human facts and figures that isn't an assurance in any way. The choice is yours.

Let's not be hypocrites when living our lives. If we say we stand with Christ, then we stand with Him all the way. The Holy Spirit is our strengthener as we live the life of Christ. We should never take Him for granted in any way.

Prince Charming

Romans 5:8 says, "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." This verse is so amazing and powerful, it makes me see how God loves us irrespective of where our stand is, which was why He did everything to save us by becoming our Prince Charming, (ref.: John 3:16, 15:13; Romans 5:8).

The love God keeps showing us is an expression of His Grace. And because of His love and Grace we love Him.

However, when we don't know the importance of His love and grace, we take His grace for granted. Galatians 5:1 says, "Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage."

As Sons and Daughters of God, we shouldn't go back to the bondage of sinful acts, no matter how little it may be. Even though we have been sealed by the Holy Spirit, entertaining sin of any kind allows the devil to touch our body, and it is taking the love and grace of our Prince Charming for granted.

To sin even though it doesn't we don't lose our salvation through that, is what I would call dining with the devil.

The love Jesus has towards us is so great that it can be comprehended with our human mind, and nothing can take His love away from us because He Himself is love, and is His existence is love personified, (ref.: Romans 8:38-39), and the more we know how much He loves us, the more we live as true Sons of God, embracing His grace all the more, embracing our one and only Prince Charming.

His Hands, Not Yours

You become a Son or Daughter of God, filled with the Holy Spirit, but you think you're not prepared for what Mark 16:17&18 which says, "And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;  they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” Mark 16:17‭-‬18. The preparation for you is just to believe that it is done. What do I mean by that?

There are times we see a sick person and get this feeling to lay hands on the person to receive healing, but we turn it down because again, we think we were not prepared or a thought comes up like "what if nothing happens." In a sense nothing would have happened because of that thought. But the real reason why nothing happens is because we depend on our strength a lot, on how well we have studied the bible, allowing all sort of thoughts to cloud our minds. And that is why nothing happens.

Then again, we seem bold and then go, and nothing happens. Why is this so? Aside the absence of the receiver's faith, the reason why nothing happens is because you thought at the beginning that YOU were going to heal the person, thus resting on YOUR faith and not HIS faith. Again, what do I mean?

Galatians 2:20 says we live by the faith OF the Son of God, meaning whatever you do won't be of you, but of Him! Meaning Jesus is still the one healing. And the healing is through you but not OF you.

So, the question you are to ask yourself is, "can Jesus do it?" or better still "has He done it?" (Making reference to the finished work of Christ on the cross and the power of His resurrection).

When you believe that Jesus has done it, it opens the door of faith in your heart. And when you lay your hands on that person, you never for once see your hands on that person, but the hands of Jesus. And at the name of Jesus every knee would bow, and every tongue would confess that Jesus is Lord. For His name is the name above every other name, (ref.: Philippians 2:9-11).

So, the more you submit to God, as it is not of you, but all of Him, you allow His power flow through you, and see HIM and NOT you at work. And always expect that it is already done because it is Jesus we're talking about here NOT you.

What is The Treasure of God? (Part 2)

In today's write-up, I would show how Jesus being the treasure of God is actually the treasure to us in reality.

King Solomon had access to the treasure of God. When God visited him in 1st Kings 3. When Gid asked him what He wanted when he became King, Solomon asked for understanding. So, God gave him wisdom and understanding, more than anyone that has ever lived or would ever live.

King Solomon in his wisdom said that wisdom is more precious than gold and rubies, (ref.: Proverbs 3:13-15; 8:11; 16:16). How is this true?

Jesus is the wisdom of God, and this wisdom was what Solomon received. It was the wisdom that paved the door to wealth for Solomon. He had great knowledge in many things. He had understanding of the knowledge. And with the wisdom who represents the Jesus who is the treasure of God, he knew how to put what he understood into proper use. And this brought about the great wealth he had.

The treasure of God shows how He (Jesus) supercedes the wisdom of man at every level.

Apostle Paul said in Jesus we live and move and have our being, (ref.: Acts 17:28). To have Jesus is to have everything including wealth. He is the true treasure of God.

What Is The Treasure of God? (Part 1)

There is nothing as awesome as having the treasure of God. So, how do we gain God's treasure?

Apostle Paul in Colossians 1:26-27 reveals to us what the treasure of God is, as he says, "This mystery has been kept in the dark for a long time, but now it’s out in the open. God wanted everyone, not just Jews, to know this rich and glorious secret inside and out, regardless of their background, regardless of their religious standing. The mystery in a nutshell is just this: Christ is in you, so therefore you can look forward to sharing in God’s glory." Colossians 1:26‭-‬29 MSG.

God had always wanted the entire world to know His great treasure. However, it had been kept as mystery to everyone. The treasure has eventually been revealed to us all which is Christ Jesus in us the key, the access, and the treasure to God's glory Himself.

Jesus is the treasure of God Himself. He is the word of God, the creative power and authority of God. So, how is Jesus so important to us?

God who came in form of man—Jesus, redeemed man back to God. He is both God and man, and is the new creation. Anyone who is born again is a new creation. And to be born again is to carry the Spirit of Jesus.

Now, anyone who is born again has access to God in the name of Jesus who is the door. You could sort of say Jesus is a "different dimension". He is the new way (the door), the truth, the life, the wisdom, the knowledge, the everything. And let's not forget, He is the treasure of God.

You have Jesus, you have everything. He is the treasure of God, and to be born again means you have access to the great treasure.
