Be Alert!

Happy weekend everyone,

Today's write-up is a continuation from yesterday's post on why Jesus was led to fast immediately after His baptism. Today's focus is on what happens to us when we spend time with God, maybe theough fasting, prayers, praise and worship and the like. So, pay attention to the truth we must not be negligent of.

When you are at your peak in the Spirit or when there is a Spiritual refreshing, the devil MUST always show his ugly head, with one major purpose, which is to sway you away from the revelation you just got. To put it better, he shows up to sway you into putting to action the revelation you just got. This means you must be ON THE ALERT.

Many Sons and Daughters of God feel they would need prepare themselves to face the world. What many don’t know is that the attack from the devil start immediately after the revelation is given. The attack is not like the human world where the moment you gain knowledge, you then prepare to use it. This goes to show that the revelation you receive from our LORD Jesus Christ is not just knowledge, but also a weapon to be use immediately.

2 Corinthians 10:3-6 makes us understand that even we are in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. We must use the weapon given to us to attack any evil forces from the devil. Jesus demonstrated this by being alert using the word—the sword of the Spirit, to push the devil aside, and when was this? Immediately after His 40 day fast.

Jesus did not say, “phew, was a powerful session with my Father. Let me prepare myself against the devil.” No! He was alert at all times. Jesus was still in the wilderness when He got tempted.

The devil doesn’t give us any breathing space. And one thing we should also know is that our “spiritual tank” is full as we are filled with zeal the moment we receive revelation from God, or have spent enough time with God. So, when the devil comes, the force behind is expected to be powerful. And when we see how the devil falls like a pack of cards, we’re strengthen in faith all the more.

The major point to note is that attack comes immediately after you spend time with God. You are a soldier, and you must be on the alert. The devil has no powers anymore, but don’t forget, he is the master of deception and distraction. And these two attributes are enough to make a Son or Daughter of God fall. BE ALERT!

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!

Why Was Jesus Led To Fast IMMEDIATELY After Baptism?

Hi, my favourite reader, hope your day is going great?

There are questions people ask, or truth that needs to be known, and today is no exception. So, read on and find out what I'm talking about today.

The baptism of Jesus is a popular story, quite hard to forget. Also, the temptation of Jesus, which happened after His baptism is another story many would remember as the event that happened after Jesus’ baptism. My question here is to know why Jesus had to fast immediately after His baptism. Why did the Holy Spirit lead Him to the forty days and night fasting. What was the significance?

Yeah, many would say, “Of course, we all know fasting is important.” But that’s not my focus. My focus is on the reason Jesus had to fast immediately after baptism.

To get baptised is like to get employed. Now, to be born again is to be born, but this time into a kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ. Then to be baptised is to be employed as I said earlier.

Jesus told His disciples to go into the world to make new disciples, (ref.: Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 16:15), but He specifically told them to wait for the baptism of Holy Spirit, (ref.: Acts 1:4-5). He had told them much earlier that without Him they can do nothing, and this would be achieved through the baptism Holy Spirit, (ref.: John 15:5; Acts 1:4-5).

So, why did Jesus need to fast immediately after His baptism?

Jesus was “employed" when He was baptised, to understand His “contract of employment" He had to spend proper time with His employer. As we all know, Jesus didn’t go to regular school, instead He attended the school of the Holy Spirit, and people noticed He went to school, as they marvelled at His high level of knowledge in the Book of John 7:15.

To fast as I have said in the past is not to go hunger strike, but to spend time with God our Father that food means nothing to us. Having a relationship with our Father is what God loves. And the more we spend time with Him, the more we are exposed to His wisdom and knowledge embedded in us as one born under His Spirit.

It was of extreme importance Jesus had to spend this relationship with His Father, because His mission was of utmost importance. Likewise ourselves, we need to know what exactly we were called here to do. This is the first question we need to know when we get baptised into the new creation, for that is the purpose of our existence; the purpose God sent us down here to earth to fulfil.

Meditation on the word of God, in summary having constant relationship with our Father is pertinent for us not to go off our calling.

So, what happens after spending time our Father? Log on tomorrow for the answer to this question.

Jeffrey and the Professor

Hi everyone,

There's a story I find fascinating which I'd share with you. So, listen...oh sorry, keep reading.

A set of PhD students were about to have an important lecture from a Professor. They all sat in the lecture hall, waiting for the Professor to arrive as it was about time for the lecture to begin.

To their surprise, rather than seeing the Professor they saw a boy about five years of age, mounting the pulpit ready to give the lecture. The students were all very surprised that they all waited to listen to what he was about to say.

With confidence, the boy began by introducing himself, "I am Jeffrey, and I would be your Professor today." As he went on, Jeffrey spoke terms only the Professor who was meant to lecture them would have used. This made the students sit down to listen with awe.

As Jeffrey the five year boy went on, he was just as accurate as the Professor, touching the relevant points that were important for the students to note. Questions were asked, he answered them accurately just like the Professor. He also went to the white board, gave some illustrations, although the hand writing was just as that of a five year old, but they were accurate and illustrated properly. It was just as if the Professor had shrunk to the size of a five year old.

Jeffrey got a standing ovation at the end of the lecture. He was really amazing, just to think of a five year old lecturing PhD students on their own course. How could he have so much knowledge, understand them, and lecture PhD students?!

What the students didn't know was that the Professor had an emergency and he had to travel by air to attend to it. Jeffrey on the other hand was the Professor's grandson, who had an ear piece on when he came to lecture.

The Professor could hear everything said by Jeffrey and the students. Jeffrey could listen to everything the Professor—his grandfather said. So, all Jeffrey did was just to repeat everything the Professor said. Jeffrey on his own had no idea what the course was about, all he did was to rely on his grandfather—the Professor, by just repeating everything his grandfather said even the writing on the white board.

Jeffrey and his grandfather were really close, Jeffrey understood his Professor grandfather very well. What is my point in this story?

Jesus in John 5:19-20 said "Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner. ²⁰For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself does; and He will show Him greater works than these, that you may marvel."

When you want to look at this critically, Jesus considered Himself foolish and His Father wise. In other words, He was dead in the flesh, as He had no plans outside the plans His Father had for Him and had set before Him. Just like Jeffrey, who didn't consider whatever he had as knowledge as anything. Many of us may say, "Of course, what does a five years old know." And we fail to ask ourselves the very same question.

God did say we should become robots and just follow Him. He made us free moral agents, it is left to us to discover by ourselves that our knowledge is nothing compared to the that of God, our Father. He created you, and knows the end from the beginning.

1st Corinthians 1 from verse 26 talks about not many wise, or mighty men being called. Note this, the verse didn't say, God doesn't call the wise or mighty. It says not MANY wise men are called. What's my point? My point is that many of those who are wise (or believe they are wise based on the flesh), rest on their knowledge, and would place their knowledge above the word of God. They feel they know, and would want to interfere in the leading of the Holy Spirit. Which is why God chooses more of the foolish people, not because he wants to, but because the foolish people, don't have anything they could brag about. They know already they have nothing to use to stand against the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Apostle Paul, based on human standard could be regarded as a Professor. Bit when he compared his knowledge with that of Christ Jesus, he found out he knew nothing, and counted it as rubbish, (ref. Philippians 3:8).

Acquiring education isn't bad, but we must understand that the knowledge we would ever acquire on earth by human understanding is nothing compared to that of God in Christ Jesus.

So, how do we tap into this realm? The answer is simple—trust. How well do you trust Him. The Bible says in Romans 10:17, "So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." The Passion Translation puts the same verse thus, "Faith, then, is birthed in a heart that responds to God's anointed utterance of the Anointed One."

Remember in my story, Jeffrey and his Professor grandfather were very close, this was how he could quickly understand him when he spoke. Likewise, in knowing God, our True Father, we need to study and meditate on His word and be led by His Spirit of Truth. The more you meditate on His word, the more you know Him. And as Jesus said in John 10:27, His sheep hears His voice and follow Him, this would happen to you more and more when you meditate on His word.

The more you meditate on His word, the more you raise His knowledge far above whatever you might have studied. This is not hypnosis, but you would come to know that God is rich is knowledge, beyond human reasoning. Be like Jeffrey and listen to you Father.

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

What Does It Mean To Tend The Garden?

Hello everyone,

My recent write-ups have been centred on the true meaning of the seventh day in creation. As I wrote earlier, the seventh day implies rest, completeness, a time a painter would rest his brush because there is nothing else to add, which implies a time of perfection. And this was the time man entered the moment he was created, which would imply that man was created to experience rest, completeness.

God told man to tend the Garden He placed him. But at a time, man was deceived and lost this rest that he was created or designed for, which made him to start to till the ground and fend for himself. He entered a state of scarcity which he wasn't designed for. But God in His mercy gave man a way to get into that rest again, where he would tend the Garden again, not necessarily the Garden of Eden as he found himself. So, my focus here in today's write-up is to know what it means to tend the Garden.

Jesus said that the Father (God) would send the Holy Spirit to us, who would dwell in us, (ref.: John 14:17; 15:26). The Spirit of truth who is the Holy Spirit can only dwell in those who have received Jesus as their Lord and Saviour of their life, and when He dwells, He would lead and direct us in accordance with the Word of the Lord. This is very important to take note of this.

So, what does it mean to tend the Garden? Let's look at the life of Adam in Genesis, while he was in the Garden of Eden. His job was to tend the Garden, as simple as that. Pay attention to that. God didn't tell him to just tend anywhere, He was specific as to where Adam was to tend. Adam was led by God to where he would tend.

The Bible says in Psalms 119:105, "Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." The Passion Translation puts it thus, "Truth's shinning light guides me in my choices and decisions; the revelation of your word makes my pathway clear." This is awesome!

In simple terms, tending the Garden means getting the perfect direction on where you're to go to. And if you remember, Jesus said He is the good Shepherd, and His sheep follows Him because they know His voice, (ref.: John 10:1-4). What does this mean? What it means is that only those who have the Spirit of Christ Jesus can discern the leading of Christ through His Word and by the Holy Spirit—the Spirit of Truth.

Now, how can you achieve tending the Garden? The answer to this question is just the Gospel truth. You need to make Jesus the Lord of your life. In order words, make Him your new life, because the old life is like a sinking ship and you need jump to a new ship that can NEVER sink—Jesus.

By receiving Jesus as your new life, you receive His Spirit as your new Spirit and the Spirit of Truth to lead you. Which is what The Passion Translation of Psalms 119:105 means by "Truth's shinning light guides me in my choices and decisions; the revelation of your word makes my pathway clear."

Just like Adam who was led to his Garden to tend, the Lord God through His word would take you to your Garden to tend. You just have to trust the leading of the Holy Spirit.

The life Adam fell into was a life of scarcity, a life without direction, a life full of guess work and assumptions. So, success is based on history not by being led—mystery, this is where faith comes in.

Hebrews 4:11 according to The Passion Translation says, "So then we must give our all and be eager to experience this faith-rest life, so that no one falls short by following the same pattern of doubt and unbelief." When you're being led by the word of God, your rest in the word of God, because the life He leads you to is a life of Grace, rest, complete assurance of your needs being met.

So, when Matthew 6:33 says, you should seek FIRST the kingdom of God and His righteousness. This means entering His rest, trusting the leading of the Holy Spirit that God will never leave you nor forsake you. This cannot be achieved without faith. He has given us all that we would ever need, we just need to trust Him as He leads us to the place of His Grace. This receiving all He has provided for us; this is following the Good Shepherd; this is being guided by the Spirit of Truth; this is being eager to enter into that rest. This is what tending the Garden means, and how you tend the Garden means.

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

What Does It Mean To Tend The Garden? (Intro)

Hello everyone,

In my last write-up, I wrote that the seventh day in the creation story doesn’t signify God resting as in to take a nap from hard work. Rather, what it means is completeness, nothing more to add. Therefore, God rested in the completeness of His creation, as there was nothing more to add.

I also wrote that the seventh day wasn’t added for God, but Man, which explains what Jesus said in Mark 2:27 which says “And He said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath.” Man was the last creation of God, and he was created to enter into the rest immediately. Everything was sorted out by God for man, all he had to do was to tend the Garden, and not till the ground as man does today.

Hebrews 4:11 says, “So then we must give our all and be eager to experience this faith-rest life, so that no one falls short by following the same pattern of doubt and unbelief.” TPT. What does this mean? To till the ground as man does today is an effort to see if he could enter into rest (it is a life of scarcity), the rest which man lost to the devil in the Garden of Eden. But without God being the very life and essence of man’s existence, man would continue to till the ground and not find rest. This life isn’t what man was designed for. His design was to experience rest and tend the Garden. Tilling wasn’t among what God created him for, which is why whether you like it or not, he will never get it right until he lives according to what he was configured for, which is to tend the Garden by living in His rest.

What exactly does tending the Garden mean? And how can it be achieved? Log on to my next write-up where I’d answers these two important question.

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

Faith Is The Presence of Rest

Happy Sunday everyone,

I studied chapter 4 of the book of Hebrews in the Bible, and as always, I got a deeper understanding of what faith is. And I'd share part of what I got.

Genesis 2:2 makes us understand that on the seventh day of creation God rested. The rest here isn't the rest of sleep or taking a nap. What it means is that God was done with everything that there was nothing else to add. All that God had created was perfect that He rested on the completeness of His works, the term of rest being the same meaning as a lawyer saying he rests his case, thus, having nothing to add. My point here is that creation started from day one to day six, so if God didn't add anything else, why was the seventh day added as a day of creation, since we now understand that it isn’t a day to sleep or take a nap?

Man was created on the sixth day, being the very last of His creation. The seventh day wasn't created for God but for Man. Thus, Man was created to experience rest in all that God had created. This then brings to play what Jesus said in Mark 2:27, which says, "And He said to them, "The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath."

The essence of the seventh day being added was for Man. And as Man lost this rest when he fell, Jesus, through His resurrection, being the last Adam has brought to us this rest to receive. And as Hebrews 4:10 says, "For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His."

This rest is the promise found in the gift of Grace which can only be received by faith. And this was what the children of Israel refused to receive because their heart was hardened, because they did not mix the Word with faith, so they doubted, (ref. Hebrews 4:2).

Everything Man was ever going to need was already provided for him before he was created. Likewise, we enter into a much deeper form of rest when we receive Jesus as Lord of our lives, thus entering into the kingdom of Jesus Christ, and all that we would ever need has been given to us. All we have to do is believe and we activate the promise of rest already given to us.

The message of rest in Christ Jesus is so deep, I know I can't explain it enough in just this write-up. Log on tomorrow as I continue on the depth of rest God has given us in Christ Jesus.

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

What Is a New Year Resolution?

Happy New Year everyone!!

It's that time again where people decide to make a new year resolution. But how many people do you know actually go far with their new year resolution? Very few do, and why is that? The reason is that a real new year resolution doesn't start from January 1st. It starts the moment you have the idea of the thing that you want to resolve. The moment you say you would wait till a new year, the zeal to do that thing dies.

The moment you want to resolve a thing, start immediately,  that becomes your new year resolution, no matter what time of the year it it. The reason is because,  at that point in time, the purpose is fresh, so is the zeal to do it also. Do not wait, because time waits for nobody.

There is a purpose you want to resolve or change a thing in your life, do it the moment the idea cross your mind. Of course, it has to be a positive one that inspires growth and development, this is important. To wait till a new year brings about procrastination. Yes, we all want to work on ourselves on certain areas for a new year, but still, don't wait for a new year to come before you make the resolution.

It's a new year, and you'll most likely have a resolution to make. The moment that comes, work on it immediately. Don't be like a person who wants to grab a ball, but keeps pushing it forward. The ball keeps moving forward. Just grab it, take the bull by the horn, time waits for no man. Do have a prosperous and awesome year ahead.
