What Does It Mean To Tend The Garden? (Intro)

Hello everyone,

In my last write-up, I wrote that the seventh day in the creation story doesn’t signify God resting as in to take a nap from hard work. Rather, what it means is completeness, nothing more to add. Therefore, God rested in the completeness of His creation, as there was nothing more to add.

I also wrote that the seventh day wasn’t added for God, but Man, which explains what Jesus said in Mark 2:27 which says “And He said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath.” Man was the last creation of God, and he was created to enter into the rest immediately. Everything was sorted out by God for man, all he had to do was to tend the Garden, and not till the ground as man does today.

Hebrews 4:11 says, “So then we must give our all and be eager to experience this faith-rest life, so that no one falls short by following the same pattern of doubt and unbelief.” TPT. What does this mean? To till the ground as man does today is an effort to see if he could enter into rest (it is a life of scarcity), the rest which man lost to the devil in the Garden of Eden. But without God being the very life and essence of man’s existence, man would continue to till the ground and not find rest. This life isn’t what man was designed for. His design was to experience rest and tend the Garden. Tilling wasn’t among what God created him for, which is why whether you like it or not, he will never get it right until he lives according to what he was configured for, which is to tend the Garden by living in His rest.

What exactly does tending the Garden mean? And how can it be achieved? Log on to my next write-up where I’d answers these two important question.

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!

Faith Is The Presence of Rest

Happy Sunday everyone,

I studied chapter 4 of the book of Hebrews in the Bible, and as always, I got a deeper understanding of what faith is. And I'd share part of what I got.

Genesis 2:2 makes us understand that on the seventh day of creation God rested. The rest here isn't the rest of sleep or taking a nap. What it means is that God was done with everything that there was nothing else to add. All that God had created was perfect that He rested on the completeness of His works, the term of rest being the same meaning as a lawyer saying he rests his case, thus, having nothing to add. My point here is that creation started from day one to day six, so if God didn't add anything else, why was the seventh day added as a day of creation, since we now understand that it isn’t a day to sleep or take a nap?

Man was created on the sixth day, being the very last of His creation. The seventh day wasn't created for God but for Man. Thus, Man was created to experience rest in all that God had created. This then brings to play what Jesus said in Mark 2:27, which says, "And He said to them, "The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath."

The essence of the seventh day being added was for Man. And as Man lost this rest when he fell, Jesus, through His resurrection, being the last Adam has brought to us this rest to receive. And as Hebrews 4:10 says, "For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His."

This rest is the promise found in the gift of Grace which can only be received by faith. And this was what the children of Israel refused to receive because their heart was hardened, because they did not mix the Word with faith, so they doubted, (ref. Hebrews 4:2).

Everything Man was ever going to need was already provided for him before he was created. Likewise, we enter into a much deeper form of rest when we receive Jesus as Lord of our lives, thus entering into the kingdom of Jesus Christ, and all that we would ever need has been given to us. All we have to do is believe and we activate the promise of rest already given to us.

The message of rest in Christ Jesus is so deep, I know I can't explain it enough in just this write-up. Log on tomorrow as I continue on the depth of rest God has given us in Christ Jesus.

What Is a New Year Resolution?

Happy New Year everyone!!

It's that time again where people decide to make a new year resolution. But how many people do you know actually go far with their new year resolution? Very few do, and why is that? The reason is that a real new year resolution doesn't start from January 1st. It starts the moment you have the idea of the thing that you want to resolve. The moment you say you would wait till a new year, the zeal to do that thing dies.

The moment you want to resolve a thing, start immediately,  that becomes your new year resolution, no matter what time of the year it it. The reason is because,  at that point in time, the purpose is fresh, so is the zeal to do it also. Do not wait, because time waits for nobody.

There is a purpose you want to resolve or change a thing in your life, do it the moment the idea cross your mind. Of course, it has to be a positive one that inspires growth and development, this is important. To wait till a new year brings about procrastination. Yes, we all want to work on ourselves on certain areas for a new year, but still, don't wait for a new year to come before you make the resolution.

It's a new year, and you'll most likely have a resolution to make. The moment that comes, work on it immediately. Don't be like a person who wants to grab a ball, but keeps pushing it forward. The ball keeps moving forward. Just grab it, take the bull by the horn, time waits for no man. Do have a prosperous and awesome year ahead.

It's Just a Waste of Time Without Him

Hello everyone,

Obtaining knowledge is wonderful, and in this generation, we have formal ways of obtaining knowledge by going to learning institutions which we call schools. After completing the training in which you have attained the acquired amount of knowledge you subscribed for, you receive a degree and a certificate which states what you have studied and the grade you finished with after completion. This is so nice, but what if after going through a particular discipline of study and then God tells you that wasn’t what He wanted you to study, how would you feel?

Today, we take a lot of things for granted and God is gradually leaving our decision making and we feel we can take decisions on our own, especially when we see the high level of intellectual prowess in our technological advancement. But in all these, we must call a spade a spade, not a big spoon. Romans 8:7-8 says, “For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. 8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.”

To be carnally minded as many have associated it is one-sided, as they feel it is the display of the works of the flesh, but what they fail to understand is that doing things, making decisions without being led by the Holy Spirit is also being carnally minded. And being carnally minded is enmity against God, it means being in the flesh and those who are in the flesh cannot please God!

God has given us the Holy Spirit to everyone who decided to walk with Him by accepting Jesus as their personal [and not collective] Lord and Saviour. Collective there would imply receiving Jesus on behalf of another which is not so. When you receive Jesus as Lord of your life, you receive the Holy Spirit who lives with you forever and serves as your helper, comforter, counsellor, and strengthener. He is the One who confirms to you what God has given you to do, where He wants you to go, and how He wants you to live your life, and this means every decision we are to take should be guided by the Holy Spirit. This is why we trust in the Lord with all of our heart and lean not on our own understanding, (ref.: Proverbs 3:5).

Many times we cry to God over matters He has sorted out, but because we didn’t consult Him first, we took matters into our own hands based on our human knowledge, but along the line, we get stuck. The point is that we didn’t decide when to come to the earth and which family or country to be born to, everyone was born for a purpose and only God knows the purpose and plans for every single person on earth. So, He is the One we must turn to for direction, we shouldn’t think we know it all.

Another thing also is that we might have been turning to God for directions, but feel some things are too trivial to bring to the Lord, but nothing is too trivial, we must bring everything to God. This is why Jesus said we shouldn’t worry about what to eat, drink or wear, these may appear trivial, but as trivial as they look, we should get guidance from the Holy Spirit. Sickness, poverty, depression, and many similar things won’t just appear at your doorstep all of a sudden, they come as a result of areas we have neglected due to ignorance or laziness. And those who walk with God don’t fall sick or get depressed, because walking with God is walking in the path of righteousness, thus walking in the path of Jesus, which also mean, living the Jesus seated at the right hand of God life here on earth. Yes, we are all growing, but God doesn’t punish His children with things He has lifted us from, we only experience those things because we didn’t take them to Jesus for directions. 1 John 5:14 says, “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, hears us.” Everything we do must be according to His will. Therefore, we must not fail to trust Him and lean not on our understanding as He is always there to direct us every time, but only the willing gets directed as He doesn’t force us to obey Him, but tell us the truth.

How To Speak By Faith

Hello everyone,

Faith is a word we hear every time from the mouth of many, and if not all the Sons of God, but the question, is do we know how to use faith to live, or do we know how to speak by faith. And as 2 Corinthians 5:7 says, “For we walk by faith [we regulate our lives and conduct ourselves by our conviction or belief respecting man’s relationship to God and divine things, with trust and holy fervour; thus we walk] not by sight or appearance.” The Amplified Bible, and we are to live by faith. A popular verse of the Bible says without faith it is impossible to please God, (ref.: Hebrews 11:6), which implies that there is no way you can call yourself a Son of God and won’t live by faith. In essence, if the absence of faith cannot please God, it implies that we must always function in faith, as we know the just shall live by faith. So, how do we speak by faith, taking that into cognisance first? This is my focus today.

The very first thing to understand is that before you walk, live or speak by faith, you must, first of all, know what Grace is. As I've said in one of my blogs, Grace is a person, He is the full package that we never knew we were worth having, and why is that? It is because all that we would ever need in our life is found in Jesus. Jesus is completeness personified, and everything God has given because in Him are riches in every measure beyond what our mind can comprehend. Jesus is a brand new life, very different from the one we met when we were born. What we need to do is to know what is contained in Jesus which is what we received as Grace from God through faith in Jesus. What is this faith process and how do we speak through faith?

One thing we must know is that faith is different from hope, this is because many times we speak using hope and we think it is faith. For instance, to tell God to heal you is a prayer of hope, but to thank God for healing you, even when there is no physical sign of your healing YET, that is faith! Faith rests on Jesus’ effort and not your self-effort. Every form of sin, from the past to present and the future, [which includes, poverty, sickness, diseases, depression, death and many more related to this] was placed on Jesus. And we in exchange got His life, which includes, wisdom, knowledge, wealth, perfect health, life and not death, joy, peace and much more. This is why we when we speak don’t speak in future tenses, but in past tense, thus, understanding that they have happened.

Furthermore, when you speak by faith, you speak like God who calls things that are not as though they are, (ref.: Romans 4:17). Faith is not something that doesn’t exist or would exist, rather, it is something that exists already that we would walk into. Faith is like a written book, and we are acting the script from chapter one to the end. Everything God said we are, is in the script, and everything has been provided for us ahead of time, and they all belong to you according to what God has provided.

So, when you speak by faith, using health, for instance, you rebuke anything that is not good health, and then you say something like, “Father, thank you that You healed me, and I am healed.” You could quote scriptures supporting this claim, such as 1 Peter 2:24. In the case of finance, you rebuke the financial challenge, and then you say something like, “Father, thank you that you have never ceased to provide for my needs.” And if it is a bill you need to clear, you mention it, by thanking Him for clearing the bill. You need to close your eyes and see yourself as your needs being met because they have actually been met. What we see around us are lies which don’t support the truth of the Grace of God in His provision for us. God says we are healthy, the world says we aren’t, someone is lying and it isn’t God for He cannot conceive lies. Anything God says must come to pass, but lies cannot come to pass because they don’t exist!

Seeking First The Kingdom of God is No Joke

 Hello everyone,

Seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all other things would be added unto you, is a very popular verse of the Bible said by many Christians and even non-Christians know the scripture, which was gotten from Matthew 6:33 and Luke 12:31. I have written on the verse more than once, but each time I write on this verse, it comes with a deeper revelation, which is what today’s write-up all about.

We all have our personal plans and agenda which we intend to achieve, but the moment you come to Christ to accept Him as your personal Lord and Saviour, you have to drop all your ambition and plans because to receive Christ into your life is to receive Christ as your life with His plans and purposes which He as designed for you, this is entering His kingdom, thus making Him your life, but you wonder if your needs would be met, and that was what Jesus made reference to in Matthew 6 from verse 31 which says, “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.”

Now, we are not to worry about what to eat, drink, wear, or worry about anything that troubles us, maybe, our bills, house rent, school fees. All these appear as though we would be foolish if we don’t worry about these things because, by thinking about these things, we are strategizing on how to solve them, Jesus is telling us not to worry because God knows that we need these things. And rather than worry, we should “seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” Why?

Everyone born of God has been given as a duty to fulfill, which when we focus on our duty, it is seeking the kingdom of God and His righteousness. What Jesus is telling us is that when our focus is on His work, we are living a life of faith.

When we walk with God, we are meant to be led by the Holy Spirit which is an act of faith. Therefore, whatever we do, whether in giving, and other things, we are being led by the Holy Spirit, and it is an act of seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. Then our act of faith is what pleases God, and then we see all that we need is added to us, in other words, what we need isn’t our business, but the business of God. What should be our business and focus is His work, and in doing His work, He makes everything we need available.

When you are stuck on a financial issue, for instance, it isn’t your job to start being anxious over what to do, what you are meant to do at that moment is to know what God wants you to do and do it. Your focus should on His work and not you being anxious over your financial trouble. As your attention is on His work, you are living by faith understanding that He has taken care of your need, and you would see your financial troubles disappear. This is the truth, and what Jesus wants us to do, our focus should be on that which He has called us to do, and when we focus on it, we please the Lord God, which is an act of faith by us, and we see our needs met.

It doesn’t happen like magic, the truth is that what we don’t know is that when we take our attention off our worries and focus on what we were called to do by calling, resources would be needed for us to carry out His assignment, and this is where all other things are then added, and we find out that what we were worrying over was answered.

God cannot give you an assignment without providing the resources and tools you need in getting it done. But if you don’t focus on His assignment, you won’t get the resources you need to get His assignment done, and your worries linger because, in the process of His provision of resources, your needs are being met! So, let’s be wise

God and Sinners Reconciled

Happy Sunday everyone,

Christmas to me is my best season of the year. Everything just feels so wonderful, from the weather, the decorations, the food, the spirit of giving, and most of all the reason why Christmas itself exist, which is the birth of Jesus. But why is Christmas so important that we celebrate it every year? The truth is that it is the birth of Jesus that actually makes us celebrate Christmas because if Jesus hadn’t fulfilled His purpose which was crowned with His resurrection, we won’t be giving thanks to God every year for His birth in the first place. But let’s take a look at why Christmas is very so important to us all.

When I was much younger, I acted Christmas plays about the nativity story, which was the first Christmas. This event is so important to the entire universe that celebrating every year in modern day is not unnecessary.

In the Gospel of Luke chapter, we find where an angel appeared to country shepherds keeping watch over their sheep, “Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. 11 For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord. 12 And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.”” Luke 2:10-12. Just then heavenly host started praising God saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!” Luke 2:14. The question here is why shepherds?

The answer is simple and in three major reasons: 1. Jesus is the good Shepherd, and announcing to the shepherds is telling them that the Shepherd of all shepherds is born. 2. The angel made it clear that the good tiding is to all men which include the normal, regular and even poor people, which shows no sentiment, and Jesus has come for the whole world. 3. It also shows what Apostle Paul said that not many wise men are called, so those who would value the message were told. But with all these, why did Jesus come for angels to be so joyous?

The angels finally saw their God and our God as a man, a miracle that has never happened, and a prophecy fulfilled. Also, Jesus was the only one born without blemish, so it's a sign that the salvation of man had come, as only a man without blemish could save mankind, which was why the angel said, “I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people.”

Since the fall of man in Genesis, mankind had been separated from God and were sinners thus not carrying the spirit of God. They were doomed to be put to death, unless the blood of a man without blemish, which was the only way that mankind could be saved, and Jesus was the answer to that. The reason for Jesus’ coming was to reconcile man back to God by putting an end to the grip of the devil on man. Jesus' birth represents a brand new beginning as Jesus is the new and last Adam, that is why He was the only one to put an end to the evil grip of the devil on man.

The birth of Jesus was the success of a heavenly project, that which took the devil by surprise. The devil was in trouble because God Himself became a man.

Any time I reason God becoming mankind, it strengthens my spirit man, because if God in His majesty and greatness, which is incomprehensible to man, then, who am I that I shouldn’t be humble and allow Him to use me. His birth makes me understand that God can go to every length to save the ones He loves. The birth of Jesus allows us to understand that with God all things are possible, and today, through the resurrection of Jesus, He is now King of kings, on earth and in heaven, and it all started with His birth. And because of His birth, mankind became reconciled back to God, even when we were condemned to death.

As we celebrate Christmas, we should always reflect the love of Christ in our giving because without God’s great gift, we won’t be alive to give to others. Once again Merry Christmas to you all, enjoy.
