FAITH Is Not Faith

Hi everyone,

Are you aware that everybody in the world has faith in them? Yes, we all do, so if we all have faith in ourselves then what is this the faith that Jesus said we should have? Let’s take a look at this issue.

The faith that a regular human being possesses is the human faith which is expressed through his self-effort. Everything we do on earth is through faith because everything we do is what we believe. We cannot do anything unless we believe in that thing, for instance, we believe by eating food our hunger issues would stop; we believe if we enter a vehicle, it would take us to our destination; we believe in what people say and many more things like. All these are the result of human faith which everyone possesses naturally. So if we possess faith, then what faith was Jesus referring to, or what is the faith God wants us to have wherein Hebrews 11:6a it says “But without faith it is impossible to please Him…” what does this faith mean since we all have faith?

When you take a look at Galatians 2:20 from the King James Version, it says, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” King James Version of the verse was able to identify that to the Sons and Daughters of God it is not life using our faith but Life is by the faith of Jesus. The reason is that our faith is imperfect and full of flaws and cannot live the life of God with it.

Jesus was the only man who was able to meet God’s standard and this was due to His complete faith in God. It is this faith that is used to channel ourselves into the kingdom of God. This faith from the human standpoint doesn’t make sense and is hard to believe; the Bible says in Hebrews 11:1, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” This faith cannot be understood by man because of our imperfection, it would only take a rebirth by having a brand new life and having this kind of faith. This is why when we become born again, our old life dies and we take up a brand new life which is the life of Christ, and since it is the life of Christ which is the life of perfection, we live the Jesus’ life and we use His faith, because only His type of faith can please God.

Hebrews 12:2a says “looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith… .” in the original writing, the word "our" wasn’t there, just to show that we don’t have faith, the faith we have is that of Christ. The summary of the whole thing is that we don’t have a life again, the life we now live is now the life of Jesus. We have been connected to a system guided by the Holy Spirit. This also why Jesus could confidently say that whatever He does is what He sees His Father (God) do, His Father is in Him and He in His Father [ref.: John 14:9-11]. There is one spirit and if there is one spirit, it means we are all guided by the same being, His thought is now our thoughts, we now have His mind [ref.: Ephesians 4:4-6; 1 Corinthians 2:16]. It is not about us again, but about Christ.

To be selfless and allowing Jesus to rule your heart is to live by the faith Jesus which is what God is looking for. Let go and let Him, until we come to the end of ourselves, we won’t see God move through us.

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!

God Doesn't Say What Won't Exist

 Hello everyone,

We all go through challenges, especially as a result of result of living on this earth where everything around us sends messages that are negative, and as such people fall sick, get poor, get depressed, work tirelessly for a little wage, just to feed their family and so on. Now, God has come to tell us that isn’t the life He designed for us. He has a place for us that beats this world hands down, but it’s our choice to go with God or not, it’s all about the choices we make if it is God or we just remain here believing we would sort things out.

Lamentations 3:22-23 says, “Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed. Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.” The verses quoted came before the new covenant was established.

As I said at the beginning of this write-up, we go through challenges in our lives, and many feel they are punishments from God, the same God whose compassions fail not? Not at all, God’s compassions fail not and He has brought about the solution to problems, but again, it’s left to us to make our choices. The truth is that we must believe something, we can’t sit on the fence.

Your Doctor tells a person that He is sick, while God is telling the same person, He has been made healed long before He was born, we often then believe what the world tells us to what God tells us. God said you are not poor, but you look at your bank account as it doesn’t correspond. The carnal mind has affected us that we don’t believe nothing outside the five senses could ever exist.

Now as God has said we are successful and prosperous at what we do but our situation is saying otherwise, does that mean God is lying? The question we are to ask here is: since God cannot lie and I am not seeing the state He said I am in which He has provided for me, why am I not seeing it? I explained the reason why we don’t see what God has ordained for us, the reason is that we keep looking at things with our five senses, and we need to change our “glasses” which is how we view things. If we keep looking at things with our carnal mind, we would never find what God has conveniently placed in front of us as His way out.

The just shall live by faith is not a cliché, it’s the truth, we need to see what the world isn’t seeing, just the way as we keep walking in faith we won’t see things that the world see like poverty, failure, infirmities, diseases, depression and so on, why? It is because we don’t view things from their own point of view.

God doesn’t say what won’t exist, what we are to do is to learn to see from God’s point of view and then you’ll see a great transformation in your lives.

Salvation Is Not Free

 Hello everyone,

As we know, we cannot buy anything without a price placed on it right? Everything has a price. Many as I’ve heard have said salvation is the only free thing given to us, but salvation isn’t actually free as many think. Jesus paid the price for our sins that we might gain salvation. Is that it? No, that’s not what I’m talking about. Jesus paid the price for our sins, sin was the wall blocking us from salvation which Jesus has offered the world, but contrary to many people’s thought, salvation is not free. So, why is salvation not free and what are we to pay in order to get salvation, that’s for those who haven’t gotten salvation?

If you have received salvation, think properly and you would remember

that you paid a price before you received salvation. Let’s take look at John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” you pay for salvation with your belief or faith, without believing in Jesus you cannot get salvation. Your belief is not something you take for granted, because the lack of it can prevent anyone from receiving salvation. If you never had faith or belief in Jesus you wouldn’t have received salvation.

Faith is a currency as many know, but one thing about it is that what we need is offered to us, but it is left to us to receive it, of which the act of receiving is faith or belief in Jesus. Let us not take our salvation for granted, for Jesus first paid the price for our sins in order for us to gain access to salvation. Jesus has done everything for us, providing all the needs that we never merited, these are enough reasons for us to receiving salvation by believing in Jesus. The more you increase in faith, it allows you to believe the more what has been offered you. Even though salvation appears to be free, it won’t be free without faith. So how do you acquire more wealth of faith? Easy, Romans 10:17 says, “So faith comes by hearing [what is told], and what is heard comes by the preaching [of the message that came from the lips] of Christ (the Messiah Himself).” AMP.

Why Grace is not a Licence to Sin (Part 3)

Happy New week everyone,

Today is a continuation from yesterday’s blog.

Romans 6:12-14 says, “Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.” As a member of the body of Christ, you are to allow the new life take over. The reason why you still find a person who has the new life acting as one who has a sinful life is just because of ignorance and lack of understanding.

The truth is that many who have the new life think they would live the life of God by their strength, and that is where they get it wrong. The spirit-man of the person is that which is changed when you become born again, but the consciousness, the mind, will and emotions are still the same and these had earlier been polluted by the previous spirit in the person. So, it is left for the person to recognise the presence of God in Him. It is only in Him that you would display the new life and this is what the Holy Spirit is meant for.

An eagle won’t know it is an eagle until it is informed that it is an eagle and it can fly. This is the same way of a born-again person. This was what Apostle Paul was talking about in Romans 6 saying those who are now in Christ should not live as members of unrighteousness. The whole thing is like one who does plastic surgery to look like another race. He may look like a different race, but that doesn’t make him that race, in reality, this is how those of the old life behave. But those who are born again are those who died and were born again with a new body from another race and behaviour. This is how a born again person is. So Paul is saying that those who are born again should not behave as those of another race that is not them.

The new life is a life that doesn’t need anyone to tell them which way to go or being bound by rules and laws, it is because the right way to go is inborn. When talking about the new covenant which is the life of grace or the born again in Hebrews 8:11, it says, “None of them shall teach his neighbour, and none his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ for all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them.” so is having this new life. It is not because there is no law that you do right, but because it is your nature, which is the nature of God. And the Holy Spirit is there to guide you all through by showing you the way to go and lead you into all truth. Grace is not a licence to sin because you have a new life which is the life of God.

Why Grace is not a Licence to Sin (Part 2)

Happy Sunday everyone,

Yesterday, I wasn’t able to answer the main question in relation to the title which was “Why Grace Is Not a Licence to Sin”. I explained what legalism is and how it came about and how that was not the original design of the world, so there is a new dimension of grace which God is offering which is a new life above laws, rules, legalism and so on. So, today is the part two and I would address the question.

I explained yesterday that we were put under laws and rules here on earth, even God gave laws at a point to the children of Israel all just because they were living a life of no control. In simple terms, the world is as a blind man who would bump into things but need a guide, this was what the law did. However, the law is like rules given to children who do not know the importance of things like washing their mouth in the morning, eating vegetables and so on, it was a school teacher and this was what Paul the Apostle meant in Galatians 3:24-26 which says, “Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor. For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.”

The new dispensation by God in order to save man is a life of Grace which one can only claim through faith. Using my previous illustration about the child, you’ll find out that as the child matures, there is an understanding as to why all those things were said when they were younger and they won’t need any rule or regulation to tell them why they have to wash their mouth in the morning or eat vegetables, why? It is because they have it in their heart and it is their way of life naturally, they are not compelled, this is the same with grace.

Many have abused the word grace as a freedom to commit sin, but those who do that did not understand grace in the first place, why? This is because it is only through faith that you receive the grace given to us by God.

What we must understand is that the moment you receive Christ as Lord, you receive the grace which includes a brand new spirit, one which doesn’t need the law to compel a person to know the right thing to do. It is a life that has the God kind of life inbuilt in that person, so the person lives the God-life everywhere he/she goes.

Romans 6:1-2 says, “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?” The old life was always ready to do things that were not God-like, in a lay manway, the old life was always ready to do wrong which was the reason why laws were created to compel the person to function under the rule, but this new life is designed as God is, actually the life is God Himself who dwells in the physical body, and He dwells in your body, why would you do what is wrong, that is not possible.

I did say that as you have this new life which is God dwelling inside of you, you won’t do what is against Him. But how come there are still acts of sin still found even after receiving the new life of God/Christ? This question would be answered tomorrow, so log on tomorrow as I explain why grace is not a licence to sin.

Why Grace is not a Licence to Sin (Part 1)

Happy Weekend everyone,

I really enjoy making things as blunt as it is, my blog name, “What Is The Gospel Truth?” is intended to tell you what the truth really is, it was then I found out the life around as we know it is a lie! Yeah, I studied philosophy and got to the depth of knowledge and how man reason. I asked all the “why’s” and then found out everything was pointing to someone who is popularly known as God. We call Him God because we need to give Him a name. He is beyond what our minds can fathom, so today, I am going to write on grace and why it is not a licence to sin. Sounds familiar but sometimes it is important to refresh our Spirit-man.

We all understand what legalism mean? It is a philosophy of focusing on the text of the written law to the exclusion of the intent of the law, elevating strict adherence to law over justice, mercy, grace and common
sense (from http://wiktionary.org), and we are all used to laws and rules that guides us. Laws were created to contain people within a rule just because they keep going against the rule. For instance, the speed limit was created to contain people within the speed limit given because people have the tendency to go beyond the limits given. Why was this given? It was given because people constantly went above the speed limit, so containing people within the speed limit and people obeying it doesn’t mean they intend to obey the speed limit naturally, but because there are punishments given when violated which have compelled drivers to obey.

The laws and legalism are the results of the fallen nature of the first Adam. Adam was guided by God in every way, in other words, God was his vision, listening, hearing, feeling and tasting, but the moment he fell, he lost all of these and became handicapped. But the sad truth is that the world was born into this and saw this as normal without even knowing what went wrong. Adam strived to do things to survive, he always missed the mark [which is what we call sin] so there was a need for rules, there was a need for laws to contain man and this wasn’t God’s will for man. The law was only put there until the appointed time for man to be saved, in other words, the law was given for us keep, it given for us to know that we can't keep them no matter how hard we tried and that we need a Saviour.

Living the life of God was what God designed and destined for every man created from the very beginning, there was a reason why we were created. God in His mercy decided to save mankind by providing us with another life, a life that is above rules, laws and legalism, specifically to the law given. The question now is, “Wouldn’t being under grace give us a licence to sin, since we are no longer under the law or legalism?” This is what I intend to answer tomorrow, so log on tomorrow as I unravel this question that bug many people.

The Faith of Enoch

Hi everyone,

I love reading Hebrews 11, but recently I was going through the chapter again and then I got to verse 5 and then saw its connection with verse 6. Verse 6 says, "But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." I then read verse 5 which says, "By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, "and was not found because God had taken him"; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God." I was really amazed at what dawn on me the more about the life of Enoch. It was not just that he pleased God that made God take him away, but there was this faith he had which was linked to God taking him away. This faith of his was what made me jump off my seat full of revelation.

The only thing written about Enoch’s life were just four verses in Genesis, precisely Genesis 5:21-24. Other areas which had a significant talk about Enoch are Hebrews 11:5 and his prophecy in Jude 1:14-15. What made Enoch so special that God had to take him away in order not to experience death? Let’s find out.

It was said that Enoch had faith, and he walked with God, (ref.: Hebrews 11:5; Genesis 5:24). To walk with God is an act of righteousness which every Son of God is expected to have, (ref.: 2 Corinthians 5:7). We must remember that the faith is spoken of here is not the faith of man, but the faith of God which doesn’t have its foundation from the thoughts of man. To have faith implies that you are holding on to something revealed to you by God, which has come to pass, but not necessarily at the moment the person is physically, but in the future time frame, and this is what is believed and held on to as real, this is faith. In order to strengthen one's faith, walking with God is the only option, and today with the resurrection of Christ, all those who have received Christ, have God dwelling in them as the Holy Spirit through Christ Jesus. But Enoch was just the seventh generation from the first Adam, how did he have so much faith?

Enoch walked with God, and as he did so, God revealed the end of the world to him which he then prophesied, (ref.: Jude 1:14-15). Now, concerning God taking him away from this earth, it was revealed to Enoch that that could be done. To hold on to your faith, you need to have hope which is strengthened by God. This hope reminds you of that which has been in your heart and has been given to you by God, and this was what Enoch saw. And as at that time, no one had the fullness of God dwelling in them, even Enoch didn’t have the fullness of God dwelling in him, but he walked with God. His generation was highly corrupt that God had to take him away from the world in order not to experience death, we have also received freedom from death. Death came when Adam fell, and now that those who are Sons of God aren’t under the first Adam but under the last Adam, death has no control over you. Now, many think it is only our Spiritual bodies, but the truth is that it also applies to our mortal bodies. If this was not so, why would our bodies be called the temple of God, and why would the bodies rise on the last day?

The bodies of the saints rising on the last day would be metamorphosed, but the truth is that the metamorphosis starts now. The bible says in Proverbs 4:18, “But the path of the just is like the shining sun, that shines ever brighter unto the perfect day.” Ephesians 4:13 also says this about the saints, “till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. To be transformed by the renewal of our mind is to properly know and understand who we truly are by grace through faith. There are so many passages in the bible which establishes that we would be metamorphosed as we walk with God, and this was what happened to Enoch.

Enoch had seen the end, and to see the end would definitely mean the coming of Christ to save the world and His second coming were revealed to him. Another key thing which was said in Hebrews 11:5 was that Enoch had a testimony of pleasing God, and to please God is to believe and hold on to the grace which we have received through faith in Christ Jesus irrespective of whatever opposition we face, and for Enoch, there was a lot of opposition during his time.

To please God by living and walking a life of faith is easy and yet not easy. It is easy because all we have to do is just believe, but it isn’t easy because we would have to say no to every opposition that comes against the rock of faith that we stand on be it your parents, siblings, husband, wife, children, friends, family, the government and so on. This could be difficult, but this is why we have the Holy Spirit who constantly strengthens us from time to time.

To hold on to our faith most times appears silly to others, but when we have that hope first of all, and it has been confirmed that we have received that we hoped for through grace and is confirmed through the word of God, this is what helps us know that we aren’t silly, but are sure of what we hold on to, which was what Enoch had. He had an assurance which kept him going on and on till God took him. Walking with God as Him walking through you is the way we see that we have more than what Enoch had, so hold on to God/Christ as He is ever ready not only in your time of need but every time.
