Let Me Take Your Worries Away Literally

Hello everyone,

Worry, worry, worry, how can we ever get out this? There is always something we worry about, from examinations, if you are a student, to getting a good paying job, if you’re fresh out of the university, to getting a better job, for those who have been working. For parents, they worry about their children, how to raise them up the right way, they worry about bills upon bills to pay. Let’s not go to maintenance of our health. Can we ever get out of all these, or is this what life is all about, to be born to worry from birth till death? But there is a way out of all these, and this way out is a complete overhauling of how we have been living, which means, we need to carefully understand this way out of worry. Let’s find out.

First of all, a child could worry over his fear of an examination he has to take, but when his parents put him through in his studies, his worries fade away. Again, children do not worry over food to eat, clothes to wear, and shelter over their head, and why is that? The reason is that they are assured that their parents’ got their back. So, it is clear to say that that worry comes because we lack that parent who directs our paths, which prevents any form of worry. Allow me to elaborate.

In the Gospel of Matthew 6:25-34, Jesus tells us not to worry; not to worry about our lives, what we would eat or drink, or what we would put on. In today’s world, that would mean, Jesus is asking us not to worry about all that I wrote in the first paragraph. But how can this be so? Jesus in Matthew 6:32 tells us that the worry of the first paragraph is what the Gentiles worry about, in other words, these are what the world worry about, which seems to be normal. But Jesus is telling us that this is not how to live, in other words, this isn’t how God wants us to live. So Jesus tells us that our heavenly Father knows what we need even before we ask Him, but if He does, why do we still go through all these worries? The solution is in the popular Matthew 6:33, which says, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” What does this mean?

When you seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, it means that you get to know what exactly you are meant to do right here on earth, in other words, you get to know your purpose and mandate here on earth. By doing this, you know what school to go to, where to work, who to marry, or if you’re not going that route, you know exactly what you’re to do, then the second part of Matthew 6:33 says, “…and all these things shall be added to you.” why is so? It is so because when you know exactly what you’re to do, all the provision in meeting your mandate would be provided. How is possible?

God is our Father and creator, and He alone knows what our individual purposes are, here on earth.“For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.” It is our needs and not our wants that God makes provisions for. And when we follow everything we are actually meant to do, we see our provisions being met so easily, this is where worry is gone, and why is that? This is because the Holy Spirit/Jesus is our Shepherd who guides us as we live, so we know what to do, how to do it, for whom we are doing it, and all that we need would be provided to us, if this isn’t true, then God isn’t our Father, or He isn’t a good Father at all, which contradicts Matthew 7:7-12 and Luke 11:9-13.
And when we ask Him what our purpose is here on earth, He tells us through the Holy Spirit. This is why Matthew 6:32 says,

Think about it, if you are sure God needs you to do a thing, why won’t He make provisions for the task to be done. And if we need help on how to get things done, when we ask Him, won’t He tell us exactly what to do, just as a parent would? Of course, He would, for He is our ever-present help in times of trouble (ref.: Psalm 46:1). We need to know exactly what we are called here to do, and we need the Holy Spirit at every point in our life, in other words, we have to always be led by the Spirit, because Jesus said, the Holy Spirit shall teach us all things and bring all things to our remembrance, (ref.: John 14:26).

What Jesus said in Matthew 6:33 as the cure for all sort of worries, is what He did. He was always led by the Holy Spirit, that He always knew the right time to move, He knew what to say at the right time, in fact, He never got anything wrong, just because He knew His purpose here on earth and depended on His Father to lead Him all the way. This was why He never had any cause to worry. But in doing this, we need to have faith in Jesus, by believing in being led the Holy Spirit in Christ Jesus as we study and meditate on the word of God, and as the Holy Spirit interprets to us what the word says, and how we are to live our daily lives. It is only by believing through faith that we can accomplish a perfect life without worry. Believe me, there is a life that is without any form of worry, and it is only in Christ Jesus that we can this—Matthew 6:33, and it is only accomplished through faith in Jesus Christ. His yoke is easy and His burden is light, (ref.: Matthew 11:28-30).

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!

The Image of Christ

Hello everyone,

If you try to be a good Son of God, in other words, if you try to be a good Christian by yourself, you’ll fail, and here’s why. To receive Jesus into your life doesn’t give your ‘you’ the license to do anything it wants and it becomes ok with God. Actually, it was the ‘you’ doing things on its own that Adam did and the world does which God never wanted because it has its root in the knowledge of good and evil. So, how then do you live as a Son of God and not living using you ‘you’ to live? Is that even possible? It is, and I’ll tell you how, so keep reading.

Jesus said in John 5:19, “Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.” Jesus in John 14:9-10 responded to Philip’s question for Jesus to show them [the disciples] the Father. And Jesus said, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own I authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works.” The thing is Jesus did have a ‘Him’. The ‘Him’ we always referred to was actually when reading about Jesus was actually God, there was no self in any way because He was completely led by the Spirit, in other words, led by God, this is why the scripture says, “He is the image of the invisible God” Colossians 1:15a, but some would think because He is God this was why He did everything perfectly. But seriously, how else was He meant to live a perfect life if not because God had to live through Him which is the only way the Sons of God can live a perfect life, but that is not all.

As Sons of God, you need to understand that there is no ‘you’ anymore but only Jesus Christ. Apostle James wrote in his epistle that the word of God is a mirror. In James 1:23-25, he wrote that if anyone hears the word of God and does nothing with it, is like a man looking at himself in a mirror and as he leaves, he immediately forgets what he saw, on the other hand, anyone who hears the word of God and continues in the word, thus doing the word would be that man who looked into the mirror and saw himself but as he left, didn’t forget what he saw. The question now is “what did he see”? Verse 25c of James 1 says, “…this one will be blessed in what he does.” What the man saw wasn’t himself, rather, what he saw was 'Himself'--Jesus.

As I said earlier, Jesus’ personality was clearly God living in Him, the same is what every Son of God should understand when they look into the mirror, which is the word of God. First of all, the word of God is talking about and referring to Jesus Christ, He is the One we are to see when we look into the mirror and not the ‘you,’ because the moment you received Jesus into your life, you became Him, you were given His Spirit which is Himself, which is why you have His mind and you are a joint heir with Him, and why as He is so are you here on earth. (ref.: 1 Corinthians 2:16; Romans 8:17; 1 John 4:17). The scripture further puts that we are equipped to attain the full measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, (ref. Ephesians 4:13), which your Spirit already has, but your mind or soul needs to grow into it which is what Romans 12:2 talks about when it says we need to be transformed by the renewing of our mind. The only challenge here is that if you don’t see Christ when you look into the mirror or don’t see yourself as Christ when you are studying the scriptures, you cannot attain the purpose of your calling here on earth, and all that you are doing is just a waste of time.

Hebrews 11:6 says, without faith it is impossible to please God. Abraham saw himself as a father of many nations, and not a future father of many nations even before Isaac was born, this is called faith, thus calling that which be not, as though they were, (ref.: Romans 4:17), but Abraham was already a father of many nations, he had to understand and feel that as already existing, not feeling optimistic, but seeing it in reality, this is faith. Likewise, we are to see ourselves as Jesus is right now, and not a future view of things to come, and as you do this you see that you are indeed the physical manifestation of Jesus here on earth. This is why the church is called the body of Christ, otherwise, if this weren’t so the church won’t be in sync with the head who is Jesus.

Every Son of God is the image of Jesus and is expected to portray every single characteristic of Jesus Christ, therefore, everything that is Him and is 'Him' is also in you, and anything that is not in Him or Him is not in you. In other words, since Jesus is above death, you are above death, since Jesus is above sickness, disease, principalities, and power, above the devil, above poverty, likewise you are also above all these things. And since Jesus has a perfect health, a brand new life, the wealth of God, the wisdom of God, and many more, likewise you also have all these things. It would be foolish of you to lower yourself below Jesus Christ or raise yourself above Him which can NEVER be possible. The reason we cannot and shouldn’t do that is that we are one with Him, in fact, we are in Him. Your life is now hidden in Christ because you died and He is now your life, (ref.: Colossians 3:3-4). Remember, you are the image of Christ.

Your Foundation

Hello everyone,

Based on yesterday’s write-up, it is now clear why Jesus is our sin offering. Also, we now understand what we received from Jesus after He transformed our lives. But it is important to know the importance of what guides our lives. Jesus in Matthew 7:24-29 spoke on The House on the Rock and the house on the sand. His emphasis was on what we do after we hear His sayings, in other words, our foundation in life is determined by what we do with His words.

The house on the rock and the house on the sand faced the exact same thing; the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on both the house on the rock, and the house on the sand, but what makes the difference is the foundation. The house is a person’s life, his entire being, referring to the soul and the body, while the foundation is the spirit.

Jesus should be your foundation because the scriptures tell us that no other foundation can be laid by anyone other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ, and Jesus Christ is the rock where we are to build our house or life. The foundation determines your life; your health, wealth, success, prosperity, wisdom, knowledge, miracles, all come from the foundation.

The house is not built before the foundation, rather, the foundation is laid first before the house. The foundation you trust is that which you build your house upon. To say you want to build your house on the rock is to say you trust Jesus a hundred percent where your life is laid. On the other hand, not trusting Jesus is to build your house on the sand, and sand gives way, but the rock doesn’t.

Your house stands not because it can stand on its own, rather, your house is standing because the rock stands firm. The house follows whatever happens to the foundation, just as 1 John 4:17 says that as Jesus is so are we here on earth. Our house can only stand firm because Jesus stands firm as the rock that He is. Just as the foundation determines how firm a house would stand. This affects our physical life, as in Christ we have all things, whatever Christ is so are those who place their lives on Him. He determines whatever we become, as to build our house on the rock is to have complete trust in Jesus.

To get the best and perfect life is determined by where we place our life or whom we trust. And in Jesus our life is perfect.

Why Is Jesus Our Sin Offering?

Hi everyone,

Last time, I wrote on “Our Sin Offering”, and Jesus is as I said our sin offering. He is the one who has rescued us from our challenges of sin, but we sometimes go through challenges where we sin, even though we have left the life of sin. The reason why we still face this is because we haven’t properly understood Jesus as our sin offering, and Jesus being our sin offering means He gave us a new spirit and everything that births sin isn’t in us anymore because we are now the righteousness of God, (2 Corinthians 5:21), and have now received Grace in place of sin. But, how do we see Jesus as our sin offering in our daily lives? Let’s find out.

The moment you receive Jesus into your life, your spirit becomes the same Spirit as that of Jesus, this is why we are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. It is our new Spirit and not our actions that make the Sons of God the righteousness of God. Our soul needs to know who the new leader in which the Spirit who is our life, and this new Spirit is the same Spirit with Jesus Christ, which is the same Spirit as God. So, if as a born-again person or Son of God you still call yourself a sinner, then what you are saying is that Jesus and God are sinners which don’t make any sense.

The strength of the Spirit we carry comes from God not from ourselves, in other words, we cannot influence the Spirit, rather, the Spirit influences us because it [He] is our Spirit. What we need to do is to know who our new Spirit is, and this is by knowing what Jesus our sin offering did on the cross and then knowing what we have received as Sons of God. Being conscious of your new life allows your soul to live a sinless life because it means it is now in sync with our Spirit, in other words, a Son of God sins as a result of ignorance, which is why Apostle Paul asked us to first present our bodies as a living sacrifice, and we are to be transformed by the renewal of our mind by not being conformed to what we are not anymore, but what we are, which is studying who our perfect person is, who is Christ, (ref.: Romans 12:1-2).

Jesus Christ is the height of perfection and perfection in itself, that which we are to attain when we have completely knocked out every part of the old life and thought from our soul, so the study of word of God by studying Jesus and who He is, allows us to understand who we are, (ref.: Ephesians 4:13). Jesus made us perfect, and to understand who we are, we are to look at Jesus and nothing else, this is why Apostle John said as Jesus is right now seated at the right hand of God so are we right here on earth, (ref.: 1 John 4:17), and only by looking at our perfect state—Jesus, can we attain true perfection both in our soul and body.

As a result of understanding that Jesus’ person is who we truly are right now in the Spirit, which is what we really are right now, we then understand that when we have a headache, we look for a headache in Jesus, and if we cannot find a headache in Jesus, then we don’t have a headache; if sickness knocks on our door or poverty, we are to look at Jesus if sickness or poverty is on Him, if it is not, then we don’t have sickness or poverty. If we see prosperity in Jesus, then it means we have prosperity. We are everything Jesus is, nothing more or less, this is what we must remember at every point in time. This is the grace we have received, and this is what happened when Jesus became our sin offering by taking our sin from us and placing it on Himself and went to hell where He overcame there and freed us from the principalities of the devil, and God raised Him up and gave in all authority in heaven and earth, praise the Lord! And we who are born of God are joint heirs with Jesus as we also in the name of Jesus have this privilege that Jesus has, this is the grace we have received, as Jesus is, so are we in this world. And this is why Jesus is our sin offering, (ref.: Philippians 2:5-11; Matthew 28:18; Romans 8:17; Colossians 2:15).

Our Sin Offering

Hello everyone,

The life of man is one which falls into flaws or sinful actions at times, but when Man fall into this sin, he is not happy about this act, so how can he get out of this life of sin. Good news, Jesus brought us out of sin. However, what the Sons of God have, as a thorn in the flesh is sin. But, it is only a thorn in the flesh because of certain conditions which we can overcome and have actually overcome in Christ because Jesus is our sin offering. Let’s find out how we are to live a sin free life.

Romans 7:21-24:
“So I find it to be a law (rule of action of my being) that when I want to do what is right and good, evil is ever present with me and I am subject to its insistent demands. 22 For I endorse and delight in the Law of God in my inmost self [with my new nature]. 23 But I discern in my bodily members [in the sensitive appetites and wills of the flesh] a different law (rule of action) at war against the law of my mind (my reason) and making me a prisoner to the law of sin that dwells in my bodily organs [in the sensitive appetites and wills of the flesh]. 24 O unhappy and pitiable and wretched man that I am! Who will release and deliver me from [the shackles of] this body of death?” AMP.

In answering this Romans 8:1-4:
THEREFORE, [there is] now no condemnation (no adjudging guilty of wrong) for those who are in Christ Jesus, who live [and] walk not after the dictates of the flesh, but after the dictates of the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life [which is] in Christ Jesus [the law of our new being] has freed me from the law of sin and of death. 3 For God has done what the Law could not do, [its power] being weakened by the flesh [the entire nature of man without the Holy Spirit]. Sending His own Son in the guise of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, [God] condemned sin in the flesh [subdued, overcame, deprived it of its power over all who accept that sacrifice], 4 So that the righteous and just requirement of the Law might be fully met in us who live and move not in the ways of the flesh but in the ways of the Spirit [our lives governed not by the standards and according to the dictates of the flesh, but controlled by the Holy Spirit]. AMP.

Jesus is our sin offering. If you’re still struggling with sin, it could be because if you claim to live a life as a Son of God and still have sin issues, it means you haven’t properly recognised Jesus as your sin offering. So, what is the result of Jesus being your sin offering? Romans 8:1 is the answer, which says, “THEREFORE, [there is] now no condemnation (no adjudging guilty of wrong) for those who are in Christ Jesus, who live [and] walk not after the dictates of the flesh, but after the dictates of the Spirit.” AMP.

The power of sin is condemnation and condemnation comes from the Law. The Law is like a ladder, if you fail in one, you go back to the beginning. We can’t meet up with the demands of the Law because of our flesh, and it is the Law which strengthens the sin through our flesh, but when we receive Christ as Lord, we get a new life, and we have overcome the flesh. And as Galatians 5:16 says, “But I say, walk and live [habitually] in the [Holy] Spirit [responsive to and controlled and guided by the Spirit]; then you will certainly not gratify the cravings and desires of the flesh (of human nature without God).” AMP. By allowing our new Spirit to take charge of our life, we are living in the Spirit and are not gratifying the desires of the flesh, and by doing so, we won’t be living the life of sin.

We have crossed from death to life and in Christ, we are more than conquerors, (ref.: Romans 8:37). Romans 8:2 says, “For the law of the Spirit of life [which is] in Christ Jesus [the law of our new being] has freed me from the law of sin and of death.” AMP.

I’ll end with this illustration a Pastor friend gave about a drunkard. And it goes thus: The wine is that which makes the man to fall and not the man himself, he is not in control of himself. In the same vein, it is the sin in man that makes him fall into sin and not him who wants to sin. But Jesus has taken away the sin in us and has replaced it with His Spirit which is the Holy Spirit. We all need to understand that Jesus is our sin offering and we are no longer under sin.

The Story Behind The Widow's Mite

Hello everyone,

Giving is an important path of our spiritual growth, because when we give we get to learn something quite important. Well, that depends on how we give anyways. In an earlier write-up, I said the state of the heart determines if what we give is acceptable to GOD. Making a reference from Romans 12:1, I explained that the most important part of giving is the giving of our bodies as a living sacrifice which Apostle Paul said is our reasonable act of worship. But as we give, what do we learn? Let’s find out.

There is a popular scenario where Jesus and His disciples were at the temple, and Jesus watched how the crowd cast their money into the treasury. Many rich people threw large sums in the treasury, but a widow who was poverty-stricken place two copper coins or mites into the treasury. Jesus told His disciples that among all who gave, the widow gave the most because she gave all that she had, while others just gave out of their abundance. So, why did Jesus make such a remark?

King David said he won’t offer burnt offerings to the LORD with that which costs him nothing, (ref.: 2 Samuel 24:24; 1 Chronicles 21:24). To offer a substance to GOD doesn’t necessarily have to be money, but it should be something that has value to you, something that after when offered you know you’ve given something of substance, not something that doesn’t affect you in any way. So because money seems to be a thing which people place a lot of value on, which is why money is the most common valuable substance today. To some, their time could be of greater value to them than even their money, and when offered, is an offering to GOD. But still, what lesson can we learn when we make sincere offerings?

Looking at a normal way of thinking, to offer something or a substance which cost you a lot, which could be money, time, property, and other related things, it would appear to be a waste of resources and could be considered as foolishness. But when it is offered to GOD, it is an act of faith, in other words, you are declaring that resources or valuable substances do not come from your self-effort, but from GOD Himself, who gave you life and the resources to live here on earth. It is a sign that you recognise GOD as your Father who has blessed you with all spiritual blessings. It is this act that allows you to grow spiritually by recognising that you are nothing without GOD and that He is the One who is ever faithful and keep to His words and is your help in time of need and your constant provider.

King David understood that it was GOD who got him where he was and if he was to offer anything to Him in appreciation, it must be something of value, and because GOD is always there to provide. But there are people who are scared to offer something of value because they feel they won’t recover it, in other words, doing that implies it is by their effort that they are blessed which is not a sign of faith. The widow Jesus spoke of gave her all, to do that meant that she understood that even though she had given her all, it was a total trust and faith that GOD who is her provider would always provide because she had considered GOD above what she was going through, which was what made her offering more remarkable than other who gave out of their abundance which wouldn’t affect anything in their life.

What we learn when we give is that we become strengthened through faith because we are more committed to GOD. Giving helps to build our trust in GOD, it allows us to get more into the grace which has been unto us through Jesus, and this is where miracles happen. However, as I said in one of my previous write-ups, in as much as you want to give or become a serial giver, the most important thing to allow your giving not to be in vain is to be led by the Holy Spirit, this is very important.

It is very much possible that the widow who gave her mite got her miracle. For Jesus to have noticed what she did was a display of faith.

The Psychology Behind Your Destination

Happy New Week everyone,

People think of where they would go after their stay here on earth, either heaven or hell. This is a concern to some who think about it, but the truth about it is that thinking about being careful not to go to hell and thinking about going to heaven are two different things, even though it may appear as though they mean the same thing, just that one is written in a different form. But no, they are both different and thinking about the two can make the thinker stagnant in his spiritual growth. There is a psychology behind it, and I’ll explain why, as you read on.

When you leave your house to your office, you either think of how far away you are from your house or how close you are to your office. Thinking about the two won’t mean the same thing, just as we understand that looking at a glass of water half full and half empty doesn’t mean the same thing. Likewise, thinking about being careful in your way of life about not going to hell and thinking about going to heaven through your way of life are two different things, it’s just what I call the psychology behind your destination.

A man who lived in a dump all his life who didn’t know he was a prince and heir to the throne, who was then told he was the next king and had to be cleaned and trained, by bringing him up to speed to who he really was would either think of his former life living in the dump or think of what his new life and responsibility would be as a king, he can’t think both at once. The thing is that if he keeps on thinking of his life back in the dump, he won’t be able to rule properly as a king because his focus is on what he left and where he doesn’t want to go back to. On the other hand, if he leaves his past behind and the fear of going back there and focuses on where he would be and become, he would become a king and perform to expectation if not beyond expectation. This is how your life should be when heaven and hell come to your mind.

Only focus on heaven (unless you want to go to the other side), and not hell, even if you are doing everything not to go there. One thing you must understand is that the more you focus on heaven, the more you won’t miss it no matter what, but if you think about where you aren’t going, which is hell, simple things could distract you from going to heaven and would pull you towards hell, because their paths are different, because you would be stagnant and you won’t grow spiritually, and you’ll become a prey of the evil one because you are not growing. All these because you focused on two things at the same time, even though you wanted to go a particular route. It’s just the psychology behind your destination, and you can only focus on one thing at a time and not both.
