You Need To Understand Your Source Of Authority (Part 2)

Hello everyone,

Today is just a continuation of yesterday’s topic.

In the scriptures, you find out who you really are, it is these things you meditate upon, believe and confess. Once the devil finds out that you know who you really are, he may tempt you, but it is then you declare the word of God to counter him.

Jesus has won the battle, the only battle you need to fight is the battle you need to fight is the fight of faith [ref. 1 Timothy 6:12]. Take sickness, for instance, once you understand and believe that Jesus has overcome sickness, you have faith, so as you face sickness, you kick sickness away using the word of God which you put your faith on, and sickness flees because sickness has seen one who is greater than itself. The same applies to financial troubles, once you understand what Jesus has done for you and you believe it, you face the spirit of financial troubles and kick it away using the word of God and it flees. This is how you take charge of your life using the authority Jesus has given you.

Now, do not be deceived by the physical outcome of some things not happening instantly. When Jesus cursed the fig tree, it died instantly, but the Gospel of Mark made us understand that it wasn’t till the next day till they saw the effect of the words. Also, God told Adam that of the day he ate of the fruit, he would die. Do you know that Adam died immediately? But the effect didn’t show till 930 years later, this is why people grow old, it is like leaves that wither away. Adam was detached from life the moment he ate of the fruit.

The Bible says, God word does not go and come back to Him void but must accomplish what He please [ref. Isaiah 55:11], so also man, most especially the born again person because the born again person’s word supersedes a regular person’s word. The born again person is using the authority of Jesus, so once you declare a thing by faith, IT IS DONE! There are no two ways about that, the only thing is that it would come at the right time that it is needed. The only way it won’t come to pass is that at all is because it was declared with doubt or you later doubted what was declared earlier. Things just happen as you declare, either through faith or fear because fear is another form of faith. By fear, a person doesn’t believe a thing and it comes to pass NOT. Fear is the reversal form of faith.

We must understand that Jesus has done everything for us, which is why the Bible says in Hebrews 4:11 that we should labour to enter God’s rest. Rest here indicates blessing, favour, break-through and so on. All that which we would ever need in our lives has been provided for us. The question here is how to tap into it, and it is for you to know that God has given you that thing, believe it and confess it and behold, it is done!

Know whose authority you are making use of and that would help you understand how to use the authority better.

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!

You Need To Understand Your Source Of Authority

Hello everyone,

In The Authority Series, as I call it I’ve been breaking down the truth of how we have an authority which surpasses any other and has been given to us by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. I also explained how we need to know that we are above any and every barrier that stands in our way. Today, I would explain the reason why we need to know the source of our authority.

Now, in understanding the authority that we possess is to know and understand the authority Jesus possesses. We are the manifestation of His victory right here on earth. In as much as we have all greatest authority of all time at our disposal, the truth is that in exercising that authority, we do not need to fight the physical fight in showing people or things who the boss is, why? It kind of contradicts what I’ve been saying right? Wrong! Those who you want to show who is boss already know who the boss is or who is in charge, the real issue is here is do you know you are in charge? This is what we need to understand.

Jesus fought all the battles on our behalf and has been declared the permanent winner, the victor, the champion, so He has given us this victory. The Bible says in Ephesians 6:12, “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” The spirit realm already know who is in charge, you could see that when Jesus was here on earth, every demon in all the demon possessed person He encountered recognised who Jesus was even without Him saying anything! Not to talk more who He is now of which we now possess this same power and authority.

The question is, do you know who you are? This is what the devil doesn’t want you to discover which is what Ephesians 6:12 is talking about. You must know that even the devil dare not cross his boundaries, he recognises those who have the knowledge of who they really are through the spirit realm. In the spirit realm, every spirit sees every born again as Jesus Christ, and why is that? It is so because, every born again person now possess the same spirit of Jesus, but even with this, the devil can also recognise those who know this. The battle is really in standing your ground on who you are, you could see this when Jesus was tempted, He was carried away because He knew who He was and what the scriptures say, which was what He used in countering the devil. Remember, the word of God is the sword of the spirit.

Who Is In Charge? (Part 2)

Hello everyone,

For some days, I’ve been writing on what I call, ‘The Authority Series’, with emphasis on how every born again member of the body of Christ has received the undiluted power and authority over the heavens, earth and under the earth in Jesus Christ. I’ve also been explaining how God had given man authority over the earth from the beginning which Jesus exercised while here on earth. Today, I will continue from where I stopped yesterday.

Jesus was in charge when He walked on earth, there was nothing He did that was really spectacular that no other couldn’t do, but the reason why they couldn’t was that they were under the first Adam who lost his right. God would not say a thing and it won’t be so, the same thing Jesus exercised here on earth, He wouldn’t tell Peter to launch into the deep unless He had authority over the fishes of the sea. We have been punishing ourselves all the while, and why is that? It is because, while Jesus was on earth, He exercised authority over the earth alone, but now God gave Him authority over the heavens, earth and under the earth, and this is the authority every born again person has at their disposal.

We are not going to get this authority because we already have it right now. The challenge is that we have been so engrossed in the fallen nature of man that we don’t believe anything outside this can happen. You need to show sickness who is in charge, you need to show poverty who is in charge, you need to show your business who is in charge because there is no power greater than yours and you must believe this!

I’m sure it still sounds surprising to you that I said there is no power greater than yours. Alright, let me prove this to you. In 1 Corinthians 12:12-31, we understand that there is unity in diversity in the body of Christ. The hand doesn’t perform the function of the leg or vice versa, the same goes for every part of the body. Every member of the body is unique and as such, they are in charge of their life, their function. Without the hand, for instance, even the head cannot function. This is why there is unity in diversity, all members following one Spirit. Apostle Paul said in verse 29, “Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles?”

Anything that happens in your life, it is your business because you have been given authority to take charge of your life. You don’t call on Jesus to come and help you when He has given you His power and authority. The only thing we need to understand is that we function in the same spirit of Christ, for there is only one spirit. God was in charge of the universe as Adam was in charge of the earth, but God’s authority superseded that of Adam right? But God made him responsible for everything that happened here on earth making him have the final say, but he had the same spirit of God. The same thing still applies to us today, it is just that our authority is far greater than that of Adam and that of Jesus while He was here on earth. The authority we use is the resurrection power of Jesus Christ [ref. Ephesians 1:19-21].

In exercising the authority, there are things we need to understand. Log on tomorrow as I explain this.

Who Is In Charge?

Happy Monday everyone,

Yesterday, I explained the undiluted power which God has bestowed to every Believer in Him. In understanding this, we know that we take things which God has given us by grace in Christ Jesus. I also explained that since we are joined with Christ we have the final say just as Christ has the final say. But if we all have the final say doesn’t that confuse things? No, it doesn’t because we exercise our authority through the Holy Spirit which is the exact Spirit in Christ, and since we are in Him, we do not do anything that He is not aware of. It is just like the body, the hand cannot do anything that the head is not aware of. We all do our individual thing, but together we work as a team, this is how we function in the Spirit and this is how we make use of the authority given to us.

Today, I would be looking at how we can properly make use of this authority we have gotten in Christ. Many of us are overwhelmed by many situations in our lives, which has caused a lot of physical damage in our body, things such as stress which leads to several ailments such as cancer, diseases, sickness of different kinds, depression; others could be financial troubles, and much more. You see, the issue why we face all these things are because we haven’t exercised our authority. You need to show these things who is in charge.

Let’s take a look at Genesis 1:26 and 28, “Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth”…Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” Man had total control over everything that moved on the earth, in short, he was in charge of the earth, and he had the final say. Even if God had to do anything on earth, he had to go through man. This was how Adam lived on earth until his fall.

God created man in His image and likeness, which means, man was to act just as God is in every way, so as God ruled the universe, man ruled the earth, this was how Jesus of Nazareth lived when He was here on earth. He is the last Adam, a different one from the one that fell, that was why He had so much command and authority while He was here on earth. You could see it in many cases; when He wanted to pay His tax how He told Peter to go and catch the first fish or when He told Peter to cast his net into the deep which led to Peter’s net breaking, boat sinking miracle, or the feeding of the five thousand, even the healing miracles Jesus performed, they were all part of the authority given to man from the beginning, because he was in charge of everything on earth [ref. Matthew 17:27; Luke 5:1-11; Matthew 14:13, Mark 6:30, Luke 9:10, John 6:1].

Log on next time as I continue on the authority series.

Take It, It's Yours!

Happy Sunday everyone,

I saw the movie Troy again recently and there was a place that I loved to hear which is “Take it, it’s yours”, this was when Achilles spoke to his men. But as I meditated on the Word recently, I got something powerful which intend sharing with you today and the quote from the movie, Troy came to my mind. What exactly am I talking about?

Being born again is not just a way of escaping hell, which is sadly the reason why many Believers give their lives to Christ. A Pastor friend of mine said being born again is about responsibility, what does this mean? As you give your life to Christ by being born again, all authority in heaven, earth and under the earth has been given unto you! It sounds like heresy right? But no it isn’t, Christ, when God raised Him up, was given all authority in heaven, earth and under the earth [ref. Matthew 28:18; Philippians 2:8-11]. One thing we forget is that we are the body of Christ, we are joint heirs with Christ; we have the same Spirit of Christ, Christ is our life! [ref. 1 Corinthians 12:27; Romans 8:17; Ephesians 4:4-6; Colossians 3:4] We literarily became joined with Christ, we meant not to be separated from Him unless we choose to, and by then we won’t be Christ having the power.

The question we need to ask ourselves is, ‘do we know such manner of power and authority that has been bestowed on us?’ All these authorities came to us by the matter of grace through believing in our dear Lord Jesus, but do you know the power and authority you possess? Jesus said in Acts 1:8 which says, “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” The original Greek word for receive is the word “Lambano”, which according to NAS New Testament Greek Lexicon, means, “to take”.

As Christ is in charge of the heaven, earth and under the earth, He has the final say, He takes no order from anybody, and guess what? The Bible says as Christ is, so are we; the Bible also says, we are seated with Christ in the heavenly realm, it also says, we’re joint heirs, that means inseparable entity [ref. 1 John 4:17; Ephesians 2:6; Romans 8:17]. What does this mean? It means we have the final authority pertaining to anything in heaven, earth and under the earth, our words are final.

What Jesus meant in Acts 1:8 is we are to take power when the Holy Spirit comes upon us. Everything in the universe is ours, all we have to do is take and not ask, it sounds like I’m getting things wrong here, but NO, I’m not, let me explain. The scripture says God has (past tense) blessed us with every (nothing is left out) spiritual blessing in heavenly places in Christ [ref. Ephesians 1:3]. What does this mean? It clearly means, why would you ask God for what He has already given you, since He has given you everything, what is left for you is to TAKE IT, IT’S YOURS!

Log on tomorrow as I continue on this powerful topic

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

Faith Is a Process?

Happy Saturday everyone,

There are times in our lives where we claim to have faith, but it appears nothing seems to be happening. It could be quite annoying because faith is futuristic, but why do things delay? The truth is that faith itself is now but the manifestation in our lives may not be immediate, and why is that? It is because we delay things to manifest and not faith itself.

One thing we need to understand is that when we need something and we declare it through the scriptures, we don’t need to force what we declared to come to pass. Actually, that is very stressful to us. Faith is supposed to the natural, in other words, it has to be our nature. As I said in my past blog, we all have faith as human-beings, but the moment we become Christ like beings we live using the faith of Christ.

When the Bible says, “The just shall live by faith” [ref. Habakkuk 2:4; Romans 1:17; Galatians 3:11; Hebrews 10:38], it doesn’t mean we should try to live another person’s life, what it means is that we are to live our lives! Surprising right? So what is our life or better still, who is our life? Jesus is our life [ref. Colossians 3:4]. So the truth is that as we speak, we put things into motion immediately, but most times we don’t get to see it immediately so we think nothing is happening. The power you possess the moment you become Christ-like is just a confirmation on things that are already done by the grace of God through Jesus, it is not something we need to work for, just to believe.

Now, the issue why we don’t see the manifestation of things immediately are two reasons which are: there is an appointed time for that thing to manifest, and second we have a doubt which prevents the manifestation of what has already been done. But there is a solution, which is that we don’t need to declare with so much intensity, what we just need to do is for our senses to perceive the right thing every time, with time when our senses are used to perceiving the right thing, we live the right life, it’s as simple as that, and not a life of force.

For instance, if a person has a health issue, he just needs to declare the truth which is that by the stripes of Jesus is was made healed. Now, some times, the body may not completely believe this, this is why the person doesn’t get transformed. But as he keeps saying it or he keeps hearing it over and over again, eventually, his body gets to conform to what is being said and then he gets transformed. But that was not when the healing was made available, it had been available since the resurrection of Jesus, all we or that person had to do was just to believe [ref. Philippians 4:8 AMP].

What Determines Our Righteousness?

Hello everyone,

Yesterday we understood that Jesus became our sin and we got His righteousness, thus making us the righteousness in Christ Jesus. I also explained that sin has no effect on us because Jesus destroyed its power, apart from that, we were made the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Then the question then came which was that if we have been made the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, then why do we still see acts of sin in some cases in our lives? And this is what I intend to address today.

Romans 6:14 says, “For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace”, verse 15 and 16 further says, “What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not! Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness? We were slaves to sin before, that was why the law was created to control us, but now that we have been set free from the power of sin, we are above the law and to be above the law implies that we are above sin! To be above sin means that it was power replaced with another power which is the power of grace.

Now, grace is not just a word, everything Jesus has become right now, that is who we have become, in the fullness of His resurrection. Colossians 1:21-22 says, “Aand you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight—if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister.” Now that this is clear, why do we still find ourselves doing what is wrong?

The first thing we need to understand in answering this question is that many of us are still conscious of sin, and to be conscious of sin means being conscious of the law. The truth is that when we were made the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus through the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, it wasn’t through what we’ve done. Our righteousness to God is like a filthy rag [ref. Isaiah 64:6], it is only in Christ that our His righteousness being our righteousness what is acceptable to God. It has nothing to do with our effort, only our faith in Him.

As we believed in Jesus we becamebrand new by confessing with our mouth and believing with our heart the Lord Jesus [ref. John 3:16; Romans 10:9], our physical attitude didn’t become perfect instantly, although physically our focus changed because we weren’t focused on the ways of the world but on Jesus who is our perfection. We became righteous the moment we accepted Jesus because we now have His Spirit, our old spirit died. So, as we keep focusing on perfection, we would become perfect in our actions.

The truth is that our perfection has nothing to do with our actions, just the way I explained yesterday that our sins had nothing to do with our action. Sin came into the world through the first Adam, so everyone who was born under him carried his nature of sin, it had nothing to do with our action. The action was just the result of the sin itself and not the sin, likewise, we became righteous because of the last Adam who is Jesus Christ, so everyone that is born of Him carries His nature which is the nature of righteousness, perfection. Our action which looks like the works of sin was just because of our old nature, so as we keep focusing on who we are who is Jesus Christ, we find out that we get cleansed from our old ways or actions. But do not focus on the old nature that is, being conscious of it or else you won’t move forward in Christ [ref. Romans 5:12-21; Hebrews 12:2]
