Freedom In Christ

Jesus did not come to accept our sacrificial act, but to make Himself a sacrifice for our sins. He didn’t just die alone; He had to rise again to establish the fact that we are completely free from the powers of darkness. [ref. 1st Corinthians 15:17; Colossians 1:13]

We were all supposed to be sentenced to death but Jesus died in our place, just as 2nd Corinthians 5:21 says, “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” We carried an unclean spirit, but Jesus carried a clean Holy Spirit of God. There was a divine exchange when Jesus was sacrificed on the cross. Jesus gave us His righteousness and took our unrighteousness. So, when He died, He went down to hell.

Now, in order for us to know that we were truly set free, Jesus who went on our behalf was expected to come out victorious which was expected to be a sign to us that our sins have been forgiven and truly set free.

Jesus was down to hell and came out victorious getting that which is rightfully ours, “[God] disarmed the principalities and powers that were ranged against us and made a bold display and public example of them in Him and in it [the cross]” Colossians 1:15 (AMP). God seeing that then raised Jesus up, “Therefore [because He stooped so low] God has highly exalted Him and has freely bestowed on Him the name that is above every name, that in (at) the name of Jesus every knee should (must) bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue [frankly and openly] confess and acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:9-11.

Jesus being our representative has given us this power also because we are in Him [ref. Romans 8:17]. This symbolised a new beginning for us, we are no longer condemned because we are under a new Adam [ref. Romans 5:12-21]. This is why “...if any person is in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!” 2nd Corinthians 5:17 (AMP).

God saw us as condemned sinners because of the old Adam’s fall, but now in Christ He looks at us as being righteous because Jesus is righteous. It’s all because of His love for us and this is the gospel truth.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!

Because of HIS Love For Us 2

You would have wondered why it seems so strange for man to look unto God; this has to do with the nature of man. Adam and Eve from the beginning were God conscious and not self conscious, but the devil in a cunning way deceived them and took control of their lives, the result leaving Adam and Eve self conscious and not God conscious anymore.

Their spirit being polluted would imply that every birth from Adam and Eve would also be spirit polluted. And Adam and Eve being the first of mankind implied the whole world was doomed. Because of the love God had towards man, he could not just destroy man, only a sacrifice of blood by a non polluted man would set mankind free again [ref. Hebrews 9:22]; but who was clean? God would have created another man to die for mankind, but the man won’t be of our kind, which won’t work. But in all these, God Himself decided to come to the rescue by becoming a man like us. And the only way to become like man was to be born!

As we know, God is omnipresent, so He sent His spirit (which is Himself) to be born of a woman. The spirit was not from a man but from God so, the child was blameless or “not polluted”. This would imply that that the only person who could serve as a sacrifice for the entire human race was the child who was born, His name is Jesus. Just as John the Baptist spoke of Jesus in John 1:29, “Behold! The Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world”

Jesus died for all of humanity in order that we might be saved. He saved us, but it is only when we believe in Jesus that we are truly saved. [ref. John3:18]

Because of HIS Love For Us

God loves us so much but do we? Well, God doesn’t force anyone to love Him; it’s something we have to discover by ourselves. What God wants from you is to a relationship with you. As the bible says, “For thy pleasure they are and were created.” (Revelation 4:11). God has provided everything we are ever going to need in this life [ref. Matthew 6:31-32]; the only thing He wants is to look unto Him [ref. Hebrews 12:2]. The more we look unto Him, the more we understand and appreciate the great love He has for us and with that our faith starts to grow and grow in Him.

We must understand that faith is not like an effort or a kind of work like the law says. Faith is the result we get when we keep looking unto God and appreciating His love for us. As we keep at what God has done for us, our belief in what He has done grows and that “belief” is FAITH!

So, faith in my very simple definition is the belief in what God has done for us GRACE. But we can only get to appreciate God and grow in faith in Christ Jesus, as John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the World, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”. God wants us to believe in Jesus who is God Himself (the Son of God) who came as a human to die for the guilt we have been placed in by our fore father, Adam [ref. Romans 5]; and how much He did for us to get us out of the power of darkness to the kingdom of His dear Son [ref. Colossians 1:13]. All these are because of His love for us and this is the gospel truth.

A Closer Look At The Two Trees In The Garden of Eden

There is a popular story at the beginning of the Bible, which of course is a true life story. This story is based on the first humans or we could say the first couple. The couple as we know is Adam and Eve. When created, God drew Adam’s attention to two trees (the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil). God told Adam “…of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” (Genesis 2:16-17).

Many of us just read that part without really knowing that the trees actually symbolises something. These trees are not ordinary, in Genesis 3:6-7 it says “So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings.” What was in the tree that changed the life of Adam and Eve? Let’s find out.

As I said earlier, those trees are not ordinary, they both symbolise something. When Jesus spoke in John 14:6, He didn’t say “I am a way, a truth, and a life. I am a medium to which you can come to the Father”. But naaah... what Jesus actually said is, “...I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” Note the emphasis on the term “The” and the word “no one”. It is clear to say that Jesus is the ONLY LIFE! Therefore, the tree of Life in the Garden of Eden was actually Jesus Christ Himself as a tree. Hmmmn... so what about the other tree?

Now, the only thing in the Bible that has a perfect resemblance to the tree of the knowledge of good and evil... it is the LAW! Only the law tells you what is good and evil. Let’s take a look at Romans 7:8 “But sin taking opportunity, produced in me all manner of evil desire. For apart from the law sin was dead”. Thus, apart from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, sin was dead in man. Also look at Romans 7:7, “What shall we say then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! On the contrary, I would not have known sin except through the law. For I would not have known covetousness unless the law had said “You shall not covet””.

Again, let’s look at 1st Corinthians 15:58, “The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law”. It is so evident to say the tree of the knowledge of good and evil represents the law. Note, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil wasn’t a bad tree. It was not called the tree of the knowledge of evil, but the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. But there is nothing wrong in knowing what is good and evil. That’s how Man lives in today’s world. But I tell you everything is wrong! The question now is to know why it is wrong to know what is good and what is evil.

Log on, same time tomorrow to know why it is wrong to know what is good and bad.

Living The Will of GOD

Yesterday, we looked at what the will of God is, because many people feel their prayers are not answered which to them wasn’t done according to the will of God, going by what 1st John 5:14 says, which is “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us”. But this scripture is often times misinterpreted by believers themselves. Today, I intend to present to you a less technical way of knowing the will of God.

I quoted several scriptures yesterday which I used to analyse the process at which believers would arrive at the will of God. True, the process started yesterday is right, but it could lead to self-confidence or self-righteousness which is what God doesn’t want. Now, what is the straight forward answer in knowing the will of God? Let’s take a look at Matthew 7:7.

Matthew 7:7 says, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you”. If you read verses 8 through to 11, Jesus explains to us that parents even with their evil mind cannot deny their children what is rightfully theirs. As He puts in verse 11 “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!” Luke’s account of this in Luke 11:13 says “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” Note, the Matthew’s and Luke’s account. The Matthew’s says the Father will give “good things to those who ask Him!”

Luke’s made us know what that “good thing” is. Luke says the Father will give the “Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”
What am I pointing out here? The only good thing God wants to give us is Himself! Through the Holy Spirit! What does this have to do with the will of God? It has everything to do with it. The moment you make Jesus Lord and owner of your life, the Holy Spirit is then given upon request or laying of hands. This makes everything easy. The will of God is not in the doing but in the following! Following who? The Holy Spirit!

The Holy Spirit who is now your: comforter, counselor, and helper (ref.: John 14:16) brings out Jesus who is now your life in everything you do (ref.: Colossians 3:4). Therefore, the Holy Spirit tells you when to study the WORD of God; when to pray; when to rejoice; when to give thanks and transforms you. It is not in what you do that makes you do the will of God, but you following Him is what makes you live the will of God. This is because there is no general way the Holy Spirit speaks to believers but there is a general goal which is bringing out the Christ in you!

The point here is not to check whether you remembered to pray or to rejoice or to give thank, the only thing is to listen to the word and follow. Following principles leads to self-righteousness which leads to sin, which was why the law brought about sin in the first place, but if you just follow the Holy Spirit who abides in you forever, you will live and fulfill the will of God. Therefore, whatever you ask, seek and knock will be answered because you always ask according to His will! NO STRESS, JUST FOLLOW.

What Is The Will Of GOD?

What is the will of God? This is a question that comes on everyone’s mind especially believers. Well, if you want a straight forward answer, we could take a look at 1st Thessalonians 5:16-18 which says, “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” Three things were stated the scripture read which are: 1. Rejoice always, 2. Pray without ceasing, and 3. In everything give thanks. It sounds very simple right? Yes it does, but no one just wakes up in the morning and rejoices always or prays without ceasing or gives thanks in everything. There must have been a propelling factor that caused these three to come to pass. What is this factor?

Romans 12:1 and 2, explains this. It says, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” These verses make 1st Thessalonians 5:16-18 clearer and how can it be achieved. One has to first of all present his body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God. When this done, there is the need to be transformed by the renewal of the mind which would make one not to conform to the patterns of the world. The mind renewal would lead the person to PROVE what the good, perfect and acceptable WILL of God is for one’s life. But again, how can one just present his body as a living sacrifice to God?

In order to present yourself as a living sacrifice, it has to do with you and what you stand for. According to Galatians 2:20 from the Amplified version, it says, “I have been crucified with Christ [in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ (the Messiah) lives in me; and the life I now live in the body I live by faith in (by adherence to and reliance on and complete trust in) the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself up for me.” This implies that once you’ve accepted Jesus as LORD and owner of your life, you are supposed to know that it is because of what Jesus did on the cross, He taking your place and His resurrection that you are saved. (NOTE: IF YOU WEREN’T TOLD THIS, FIND A BELIEVER TO EXPLAIN IT TO YOU). Now after this, you are expected to adhere to, rely on and have complete trust in JESUS with the Holy Spirit in you whom God has sent, Who is now your life.

Now when this happens, this happens, the Holy Spirit enables you present your body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God. Then you get transformed by the renewal of your mind through the study of the Word of God, (ref.:2nd Timothy 2:15). With this, the Holy Spirit who is in your counsellor explains what the Word studied means, thus allowing the words of your mouth and the meditation of your heart become acceptable to God. And if what you always think about is His Word, naturally you then prove what the good and acceptable and perfect will of God is.
This is a vivid look at what really leads to knowing the will of God. The truth here is that all these stated above happens within split seconds, but it still appears technical right? Right!

How To Use Mystery and not History

Hello everyone, welcome to the site where you get to know what the gospel truth really is.

Yesterday, we looked at the level to which Christians are to determine the present, and that is through the use of mystery. As was said, man makes use of past events to determine the present, Christians are to use the future to determine the present. Using the future is by bringing to the fore what hasn't happened before. This is a mystery which GOD/CHRIST uses. But the point I want you to know is who the mystery is.

Colossians 1:26&27 explains who the mystery is. This mystery was hidden from both angels and men for ages and generations, but is now revealed to GOD'S Holy people. Now, who are GOD'S Holy people. They are those who have accepted JESUS as LORD of their life and has received a brand new Spirit which would enable them to have the mind of CHRIST (1 Corinthians 2:16).

Having the mind of CHRIST enables you to operate like HIM because CHRIST is the mystery, as it is said in Colossians 1:27 which says "...Christ in you, the hope of glory." The power in Christians is the same power that was given to JESUS by GOD when HE rose from the grave (Philippians 2:9&10). This is the authority we use when call things forth from future.

There are deeper truths to this on how to call things from the future into the now. This would be explained in the next blog.

Log on again for another exciting time to know what the gospel truth really is.
